A little over a year ago I started really concentrating on songwriting. The previous year I worked primarily on genre production, diversifying my music with all sorts of genre-bending, but since I was a teen, I listened to The Brothers Johnson, Larry Graham, Funkadelic of course, and tons of other stuff.

This past year I've been writing a lot of funk in various styles & I've been telling myself that one day I'm going to write the music for the perfect Funk song.

so to that end, I submit this, it's twice as fast as I can play pretty much but aside from that your vocals for this song are really great, I can't say enough about how impressed I am with your musical direction as of late, this new album you've spoken about must be great, when will it be released? Are you working with a producer? Either way, it is leaps and bounds beyond your older stuff posted on Looperman, I can't say enough good things about it.

First off, I didn't set out to do a Latin arrangement, as I played with the different guitar sounds I just settled on this and being in the key of Emin [or GMaj if you prefer] I spent a bunch of time in Brazil on tour so Emin is like one of my favorite keys to shedding on some Brazillian licks & rhythms

it just tumbled out and then I realized that the phrasing, the lyrics, & the melody just kept moving me in that direction. I hope you like it, it is not finished, I have a lot more to do but I also wanted to do an R&B arrangement as I had first intended.

Been here two years, this is probably the most Pro-Level shit ever to come out of this site, & that includes you previous stuff Mr. Mayo, you guys really hit it out of the ballpark, it was/IS a pleasure to work on it, so glad I came across it before anyone else, I blame insomnia...
