Description : Here is my contribution to the mixing and mastering competition hosted by ShortBusMusic. Spent quite a bit of time on this one, and it was mainly a morning activity for me - the song seemed to suit that feeling. Quite a bit of detail work went into the mix. Tried to keep much of the dynamics intact. Hope I have kept to the guidelines in an acceptable way. Description : I thought I'd share a track from my freshman CD titled, Sentimental. This tune turned out to be the most popular.
The entire project was recorded in one afternoorn analogically (the ol' skool way). It was done "live" which means no separate tracks. There was no rehearsal. What you hear is exactly what happened...no edits. In fact, I had not met any of the musicians (among the best session players in the country)prior to the session--except for the pianist, whom I met with briefly.

Description : I created the melody and lyrics some years ago. Today, out of the blue, it popped into my head and I found myself humming it a lot. So, I decided to do a quick record and upload. I'm not allowing downloads but definitely interested in working with someone to make this a full song.
What I hear in my head as far as instrumentation are strings and a soft rock guitar solo which precedes a repeat of the last verse and chorus.

Description : A collaboration with MusicIzMee4Ever and another stunning vocal from her. It took a little time to get some momentum going on the track but I think the six eight timing works well. I have chopped the main and backing vocal up quite a bit and tried not to "give it all away" in the first 16 bars or so. The guitar solo uses a patch on my GR 55 called "scat".
