Description : For many years I've worked in a lot of clubs and some music studios. During that time I have learned the ins and outs about compression and some of the secrets when it comes to compressing certain types of music genres.
On this track I wanted to drive the drums hard but not to the point where it clips. I'm gonna share with you one of the Hip Hop compressions that I've learned from master producers. Just add a compressor to your Master Output and use the following settings.
Threshold : -10.0 dB
Ratio : 3.0:1
Output gain : 0.0dB
Attack time : 11.1 ms
Release time : 50.0 ms
Remember this is just one of the settings they use. You can experiment with these settings to your liking but it's a good starting point for you.
