Description : I usually don't like to push my mixdown to loud cause most of the times it destroys the dynamics and makes the song sound like (censored) lol.
In many years I've practice many technics but I've learned from Engineers and Musicians that you have to approach every song differently.
On this track I added 4 different compressors. One for the low end, 2 for the mid-range at different frequencies and 1 for the high end. It's nothing really new but the only difference is that I added one final compressor controlling the 4 compressors to keep the levels even and maintaining the dynamics.

In those days it was Newave music, then it changed to Alternative and then Electro. Even though Electro has its own feel you can still hear (Musically) the influences of back in the days electronic music.

Description : Well, in the last upload I was discussing the importance of mixing your levels right before adding effects, compression, Limiter etc.
It will make your life easier, trust me. Now I want to discuss about "Mid Side Processing In Mastering". If you don't know what that is, there's a lot of great tutorials on YouTube.
It will help your vocals to sit better in the mix. I'm not saying that you need it to make a great mix, but for certain songs it can help.
Remember that every song is different. This tool is easy to learn, and once you do, it will become a powerful ingredient.

Description : Hey what's up again. Just trying to hone in my mixing and mastering skills. If you're learning the art of mixing yourself, try concentrating on leveling the volume on the tracks first until you get a good balance. Work on a medium volume whether headphones or monitors to avoid ear fatigue. You can raise the volume every 10 minutes or so just to see how it sounds.
Last but not least, try to keep the levels on the master between -12db and -6db. You want to give your track enough headroom so when you add your effects, compression, and/or limiter, it doesn't clip and destroy your dynamics.
