Description : It all started when I had a moment to listen to my mp3 collection of tracks and came across Fridas - There is something going on. I instantly got the feeling that this arrangement from Phil Collins is so good that I have to bring it back to todays sound without doing a remix of the old song.

So i looped the drums at the start of the original song with a slight offset which was not intended but it sounded quite cool so I decided to keep it.

I created a new arrangement that still had the old 80's vibes and browsed through looperman.com to find a siutable vocal track that I could use.

I found Come into my life a trance acapella by a user called mhyst (https://www.looperman.com/acapellas/detail/8306/come-into-my-life-trance-acapella-by-mhyst-140bpm-trance-acapella) and decided to use a part of it.

Well, that's the story. Enjoy.

Description : With the winter solstice comes a new album from Spivkurl, as well as this new song from the album. Kind of a new-new-wave sort of track. We all like it around here.

Description : C#, G#, A#. bass, lead, atmosphere from GMS synth in FL Studio. Perhaps if you commute on a German ferry boat each day, this would be upbeat music to help you psyche up for your workday! no clue about genre as usual.

Description : This is my track for this "ONE VST COMP" Ok, maybe it isnt a real competition and this track is maybe not realy rule comform, cause it has vocals. But all others was made only with one vst. No efects or else added. Only a EQ on the overall music downmix. This is a bit dark and the lyrics make it not better. Dont listen to this when you feel real bad. Like mostly, did i translate the german words and put them under the lyrics. BTW - i am not religious and the words are 30 years old and right now i do NOT believe that the apocalypse comes soon :) but it sounds so cool - comments are sure wellcome

Description : patience the cat is receiving dinner and chilling in the kitchen when a zombie breaks in. PHATKATZ cinematic concept and arrangements. SPIVKURL percs and consults. meow synth, FL Studio synths (megatron, toxic biohazard, flying cobra). Odd meter feel. The inspiration is a painting by Josephine Wall which can be viewed with an abbreviated version of track: http://audiosparksforart.com/project/cat-zombie-irritated-cat/

Description : Here is my contribution to the mixing and mastering competition hosted by ShortBusMusic. Spent quite a bit of time on this one, and it was mainly a morning activity for me - the song seemed to suit that feeling. Quite a bit of detail work went into the mix. Tried to keep much of the dynamics intact. Hope I have kept to the guidelines in an acceptable way. Here's the link to the competition thread... https://www.looperman.com/forum/thread/182336/mixing-and-mastering-competition
And a link to the original track... https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/159547
Thanks ShortBus for putting this together!

Description : This track is the first two sections of what will (hopefully) be a three-part piece essentially a suite. I am posting parts 1 and 2 because I think they are ready for feedback from Looperman members. Part 3 isnt done yet because it requires Human League style vocals from a singer with a distinct British accent. I have the melody and lyrics worked out. I sent a private message a while ago to a Looperman member who I think has the right voice for the job. But, havent had a response. Until I find a vocalist for it, I cant finish the piece. In any case, the total file size of the complete piece would be greater than the Looperman limit, so it will have to be split into parts anyway.

Parts 1 and 2, in fact the whole thing, were inspired by acapellas posted here on Looperman by Jacques Demers:

https://www.looperman.com/acapellas/detail/6105/love-love-love-ououou-by-jacquesdemers-130bpm-dance-acapella

https://www.looperman.com/acapellas/detail/6093/dont-keep-back-2-by-jacquesdemers-107bpm-hip-hop-acapella

https://www.looperman.com/acapellas/detail/6091/dont-keep-your-love-away-from-me-by-jacquesdemers-107bpm-hip-hop-acapella

If you havent checked out Jacques tracks yet, you really should. He doesnt set them up as featured so it might be easy to miss them.

The harmony in Jacques acapellas sounded very Beatle-ish to me, and that made me want to try my hand at doing a George Martin style treatment. I remembered that ScottsCovers here on Looperman had mentioned an instrument called a Mellotron, which was used by the Beatles, the Moody Blues, Genesis, along with other groups of that era, so I decided to use a VST mellotron as the primary instrument for Parts 1 and 2.

The acapella in Part 2 was in a different key than the one used for Part 1, so I needed to find a chord progression in Part 1 that would modulate the key. Jacques gave me some advice on that, which you can see in the comments on his first acapella.

Part 1 has harp, mellotron flutes, clarinet, french horns, and my attempt at a Penny Lane type trumpet solo (but much simpler). Part 2 has a string ensemble, solo oboe and trumpet in unison, and some Daniel Langois type processed guitars. Both parts were recorded at 60 bpm, largely because thats where the acapellas seemed to sync best. However, I played the instrument tracks freestyle (rubato), so the tempo actually varies somewhat. Definitely not quantized!

There is a storyline behind this track. Part 1 is the blooming stage of a relationship. Part 2 is about the relationship in decline. Part 3, with vocals, will be about ending it.

Ive included the transition to Part 3 (which will be a more traditional synth pop section) and just a bit of the first verse backing instrumental so you can get an idea of how things are headed in the final part.

Description : Hello hello. I kind of took a detour and made this one loop wonder. I found this loop today by theHumps and I really liked it. I didn't add anything else to it. Just vocal layers and the lyrics, but welcome anyone who to add anything. As usual I don't have a problem with that. I hope you like it, thank you!

Description : I found this one by the random tracks function for about 6 month ago.

Since I've been producing songs for the 8 bit platform I found this song very interesting.

So I had to ask Jeicee if I could get my 8 bit hands on it just to add a lead track on it. No problem he answered. So here it is.

All credits to Jeicee for the original tune.

Cheers,
Anders

Description : I think this may well be the best thing I've done so far. Both sound technically and musically.

The song's title describes some of what I really wanted to achieve. A simple sound of a sawtooth as the main instrument in front of the piano, but another part of me wanted something completely different. In the latter part of the song I play the drums along with Kong Drum Machine, he is much tighter than I am, but I have more feeling for the fill-ins, I think we complement each other.

Description : If you're old enough, you will remember the 60s and 70s 'surf' music fad, popularized by Dick Dale, The Del-Tones, The Ventures, Etc. Well, this track has remnants of those early sounds with a bit of updating. It has the recognizable guitar twang, Hammond organ, and even the Farfisa organ. I even took the song title from a 1965 surf movie, so take a trip back in time and give it a listen and let me know what you think. Downloads always available to enjoy with my tracks.
