I'm a physics major at RIT and I'm looking to DJ some music for our radio station here, WITR 91.7. I have loved music for quite a while and am just deciding now that I'd like to create some of my own stuff.

I've just started mixing, so I'm looking for a good, not expensive (preferably free) program that I can use. I've been familiarizing myself with Mixxx for the moment, though.

As far as musicians go, I enjoy bands like Radiohead, RJD2, and Massive Attack very much... but the list of bands I listen to is very long.
Electronic, Ska, (some) Punk. I would say alternative, but I'm afraid that people will think I like a lot of the poser alternative bands out there (I'm talking about you, new Weezer.)
I study, play videogames, and hang around. I also do a lot of thinking. Philosophical thought interests me very much. I'm also a physics major, so I enjoy indulging people's curiosities about the universe.
