It's funny that you'd mention loops only. That's all I do. LOL. I'm glad it helped with your tension but it's added to mine Now..thanks..I'm so jealous of your stitcing..It's flawless..Just kidding on the jealous bit..However, your stitching is great..bet you can sew too! I can..LOL.. Great ride as usual. Glad I came to your page..good stuff in here man..
Hey Mr P thank you for the kind comment! The loops only thing was what the challenge was about, so I was constrained, but it helped me in the end. I was happy when this turned into a real song with vocals and stuff... even if my listeners weren't, heh. I do in fact know how to sew by hand, though I haven't done it in a while... I like macrame too. I really appreciate your stopping by lately, always good to hear from you!
By the by Spiv, all I do is stitch loops together. I play no instruments. Wouldn't know a bow string from a guitar string...LOL..Great stuff second time around even..
You should definitely try to learn an instrument. Doesn't really matter which one, just something available that makes a sound you like. It can change everything about how you hear and make music. Thanks for the comments friend!
Spiv. Fellow Looperpeep. I don't know where to begin, nor would I know how to end what I start so I'll jump in the middle and say this.
Great Track! I had to listen to this a second time. I know nothing of musical notes, beats, or even how to read muzik. I just know how sounds sound and what they sound when blended with another sound. Example. I don't know how my car works, I just get in after checking the oil, gas and air in the tires and enjoy the ride. This is what I did. For you piece here, I enjoyed the ride and had to do it again.
Thank you again for your kind comments! This was a fun mixing project for sure, and it made me happy that it was recognized. My process with this one was pretty intuitive, but still detailed, and it seemed to work out. I know what you mean... I don't know how my legs work, I just stand up and start walking!
Hello there! It seems to have been a while since I noticed you around, and I'm happy that you visited my page! To be amongst the winners of the mix and master competition, and then to be involved in taking this track even further with Mark's parts was a complete pleasure! It makes me happy to work with people who are so proficient in their instruments of choice, and in recording and composing. It was inspiring to work with such excellent stems, and has encouraged me to perform more and record better on my own works. Thank you for all your comments!
Austin, this is Awesome. I hope if anyone does put vocals they don't destroy this awesomeness but add to it's awesomeness..Serious ear candy for me as is..I have a low bass voice and love to hum to it....just like it is..
Eighteen, I only mess with loops and all my songs are composed entirely of them. Nothing else. I say this to let you know I may not have the right to say this because of the professionalism of this song. It is one of those songs I thought I might not like and when I started playing it, it grabbed me right away and I found my self wanting more...LOL..Love it.
garrin! What do you have to say for your self for putting something like this on looperman. Don't bother, I'll tell you! Wow! Wow! Wow! This is awesome. I love it....
Zappo, I'm not sure what the Barmaid did to you but what you did to this piece is the kewlest. Love it's laid back adventurous feel. Wonderful tuneage..
When I make music for my buddy my tracks are background music for his videos he asks if I can do a couple tracks for him I say sure what kind and get a detailed description or as detailed as possible and try to get something he visions along with my vision. I tried getting him to send the video to me when its done and I'll get everything perfect to my own vision and his but he didnt understand that part of it.
R4vager, I'm skeptical about what I listen to here on looperman. I gave this one a listen and ....thump...thump...thump...it had me thumped right out of my chair and on the floor..doin' my best to do a groove..
I'm really skeptical about some music that claims to be one thing but really sound like something else. This piece Scott is really good. It did have me thinking of the 70's and 80's disco and had me doing the diskallovertheroom thing. Very nice indeed.
Tis truly a sad thing when this kind of thing happens. I work at a Homeless Shelter as a Placement Specialist. I see this type of thing going on all the time and it just breaks my heard as the tuneage here fits well with this description. However, I'd like to make a suggestion on the title. (Hooked) would be short and self explainatory. She got hooked then hooked for her high and it hooked her for her life. I truly hope you weren't to close. I can hear the pain in the tuneage. My condolences and congrats on a nice, sad piece.
Wow danbo. Your right. I do hear loops in here from the same loop pack I have. The organ is from organ donor. I also heard a fx loop in there called, I believe Iced promo..nice jazzy flavor here. Nice indeed. I hear the same loops and yet the very two very distinct techniques and useage. This one is good and funky, jazzy, twistedly good in all respects.
Um. For lack of a better word, WOW. I am going to do exactly what you said you use it for. I could relax with this. I know you said you used virtual instruments but the Recorder piece is awesome. Very lifelike. Nice job.
Greetings speaker2. Was just flitting through the new tracks and actually listened to this. It is in the correct genre but I do like the flavor. It's good. Had me listening for sure. Keep it up
Mr. P - I am eternally grateful for the lengths you've taken to check out my track. And, I'm glad you like!! I'll keep an eye out for more of your great work too. Cheers, mate!
Is it supposed to build? I see your comment, wait for it. Ah. I just don't get it...I can't hear it and I wanna.....It seems to start out in complete silence then gets a little louder but not much..I can hear others pieces fine. let me know..I mean I'm listening to it right now and right at the end when the drums kick in that's all I hear clearly, everything else is very low.
Yes, it is supposed to build. It's weird because I can hear it fine on my Mac with headphones and with good computer speakers. Maybe SoundCloud will tell if there is something wrong with the Production? It's posted there with some of my other songs I haven't gotten around to putting on here yet.
hmm. Did that then realized that since my speaker system is running through the same jack it shouldn't matter. However, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. Still can't hear it until the end.
Ahha...right at the end i could hear it better. But from the start, I think I hear something but it's so low it's indistinguishable from my laptop fan..just couldn't hear it bud. I'd love to. and sorry for the second post. went back and kicked the song closer to the end. Mr. P
