Well, If I understand what you mean correctly, in this style of lofi hiphop, fills, frills, cymbal crashes and such are used very sparingly if at all. Not even sprinkled effect hits. Listen to anything by Kupla on Bandcamp and you'll see what I mean. Kupla is fantastic!
Love this, great melodies and super well mixed. Works pretty well without vocals, but get some on there and this could be huuge. Keep the tracks coming!

As for the sound, one thing would be more variation in dynamics of each instrument. I want to hear bigger swells in the strings and brass, and lots of them.
The best advice I ever got was use reference tracks. Pick a track that is similar to yours in style and use it to get the levels and space of the different parts right. This makes me think of Hans Zimmer, so find a track like 'Taken' from 'The Last Samuari'. Download it, and keep comparing the sound to yours.
But really this is pretty sweet, wouldn't be surprised if I heard it in a film.
