Synths are great, ideas are great, track is great. but, Severely lacking in low end weight and punch. its almost as if the sub is turned off.

    Wicked track, Everything is superb.

A couple of bits, the bass could use some real sub to underpin the track and fill it out.

Taking the vocal and the instrumental to a mixing and mastering house would take this to the next level. the vocals are superb but dont sparkle over the track like they could.

    Your amazing, keep it up.

Nice track mate, Sounds are all good and the ideas are great.

The track is a little stiff for me. the drums could really use some rides and top lines to give them some ups, downs, roll and rhythm. Also the bass is a bangin idea but doesn't change through the track. Maybe Reaktor could give you some slightly different versions to pup into the mix to give it some variety.

Thanks for sharing man, really liked it.

    Heya dude,

The Ideas are fairly sound for a starting out producer. The use of fades, volume automation, crashes etc are all steps in the right direction. The melody created over the starting simple chord arraignment is good.

All the sounds need changing to be completely honest. drums, leeds, bass all of them.

Also fx, panning, chorus, delay, reverb all that stuff needs to be looked at.

The mixdown is very clean but you need to pick what sounds are 'THE' sounds and make everything fit around them, not make everything sound the same level. its a juggling act and 90% of track quality is sounds and the mix down. the other 10% is the mastering.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Great Ideas and tone,

    Lovely sounds and sound design.

In an effort to get the track loud, it has made the whole track run very very hot. There is a lot of very low end in the bassdrum that could be swapped for headroom to give the track the volume you want and keep the sound less distorted. Some of the risers (Like the one at about 2:55) are rammed with sub bass and stealing the volume potential of the track.

Great track, like really good. but all the sounds are fighting for prime position in the listening space making it fatiguing to listen to and its running so hot the distortion is detracting.

    Heya GiulioMusic

No what I mean is, Not everything is supposed to be the same volume. Its like a meal, You have the meat and the potatoes taking up most of the plate and the rest is there to garnish or compliment.
If you had the same amount of carrots, peas, sweatcorn that you did of the potatoes or meat, it would be a pretty weird meal..

Pick what you want to stand out and drop all the others in volume so they stop dominating the track.

Ok haha, I see what you mean, the track definitely lacks some sort of dominant mid to make it interesting..

    Hiya dude,

The track starts off well, with the staple sounds of a Deep house track but the pads are not really a deep house thing. Deep house is a more bass, organ type of genre.

Have a look at the tracks by DJ S.K.T for an example of builds, break downs, sounds and arrangement.

    Thanks for sharing dude.

    Really lovely dnb man,

The sounds are great the placement is great. top track.

Could benefit from an external mixdown and master to get the subs rolling and the width and air the track needs to sing.

One critique is the drum loop. it goes on through out the whole track and really stands out because of the bom bom chaa chaa.

The Chaaa chaaa bit really stands out and makes the track sound almost robotic and not humanised. some fills, rolls and changes would lift this to another level again.

    Many thanks for sharing

    Heya dude,

Drum sounds are good and interesting but there is so much reverb and delay on the drums they are swimming.

The synths are not really for me but the track as a whole is mixed well to give everything space.

A few sounds could be pushed into the back of the mix as they heavily dominate the whole track.

    Thanks for sharing

    Heya dude,

First thing i notice about your mix is that everything is very loud and a little harsh in the top end.

The mix could do with you picking a dominant sound and making that the forefront of the track. For me its definitely not the synths, hits, FX and pads that are currently sitting right in your face in the mix.

Drums and bass are great though.

    Thanks for sharing dude.

    peace

Thanks Spudsy, by making forefront of the track i'm guessing you mean boosting the frequencies

Great ideas buddy and the track is great. It needs lots or eq'ing and a very good mixdown though before you even consider putting it over to someone to master. Just looking at the Wav file before pressing play you can see the audio is all over the place volume wise.

Elements are good, especially the drums. but when the track comes in the melodies clash and it gets a bit messy.

All you need to do is use the main mid/high bass sound you have already and copy the melody with a sub sine. job done.

If the bass doesn't work with just those elements then its more likely then not the bass melody that's the issue and not the bass sound itself.

Interesting track and it sounds great. I would strongly consider removing some of the bass notes here and there to make a more stripped back bass loop. this will give all the other sounds in the track room to breath and give the track more swing.

The melodies and sounds are all fine but the drum sound choices completely ruin the track. they dont sit well or sound right.

There are a few volume and eq'ing issues here and there but the drum sounds and processing are the main problem and hold the track back from being great.

This track could be very good but... the sounds, mixing technique, side chaining & eq'ing need some looking at. The sounds almost make it sound like a karaoke remake of a track. where you know its a great track but it just doesn't sound the same.

Track is distorted, sounds are out of key and time with each other.

Trance sounds need to be quite symbiotic and need to work, harmonise, play off each other like a 'Call & Answer'.

You have very good audio talent but the track is a little to 'safe' sounding and because of that it kind or just doesn't go anywhere or peak interest as much as it could..

the bass line is fine for the genre (if your going for the garage type deep house vibe) although the drums seem to have a very strange structure. Parts dropping in and out at will. One moment you have the hats then 16 later they are out then 16 later they are back in? its very jarring and is causing the track to not flow correctly. Also makes the whole track sound like its been made with building blocks. Try making another copy of the bass in a higher octave, and put it after the second break down, low in the mix with some ping pong delay and reverb to ad an extra layer.

Drum roles, white noise risers and falls, FX... all these things are your friend in making the transitions between parts less stale.

thanks for the constructive criticism spudsy its exactly what i am looking for,i dont have a real deal studio set up yet just a mac and speaker to jack lead, vocals are very limited to find in beat anywhere for free and im no master at mixing down... i thought the parts that drop in and out were not so random like you said 16 in and 16 out but hey im no pro and this is my first attempt since having the mac,im not used to most of the terminology yet ether ....ill try the bass in higher octave too ....if you can pass on any hints or tips for mastering in logic it will be much appreciated... thanks
