I thiink i'm liking this sound of you using singing in your vocals, should feature one track where you switch up the flow from singing and rapping together
cheers Zivon i have sang and rapped before theres a couple in my profile but my singing wasn't where it is now, if you know what i mean, im more experienced but your right i need to do it more
Z. Thank you for the good advice. I followed it and see that you were absolutely right. To me it sounds better and there is more transparency in it. Thank you. All the best. Micky
I really love that guitar! This reminds me of Satellite empire, have your heard of them?
I would add a hint of dubstep influence on some of the drum sequences and bass at some point during that middle portion to add a little avant-garde but that'd be taking it in a completely different direction.
Overall big fan of this especially the reverb on the guitar..were you just freestyling the guitar riffs then? -Z
Loved the reply and suggestions. The lead guitar was done in two takes. I chose the one I thought was best. The lead guitar was created using a softsynth, some amp simulators, reverb, and some fx. Then I played it through a 49 key midi controller using the mod wheel so it sounds like I'm stretching the strings. With practice it sounds pretty good. I do also own Two guitars but like to dabble in both. I'm going to try it again and insert your suggestions. I like the idea.
Hello Z, thank you for your great praise. Unfortunately, Hammock and Echosmith don't mean anything to me at the moment. But I'll definitely be Googling it in the next few days. To your question. The effect is a Nectar4Voice effect. A software effect that reacts so quickly that it can also be used live. The task was to use the voice to build a bridge from the quieter opening part to the main part. Since my voice isn't voluminous enough for such things, we did a little trick. We didn't grind the effect into a chain with the singing, as is generally the case, but doubled my voice. The main channel remained absolutely free of effects, i.e. dry. The doubling was given an extra track that was sanded through the effect, with the dry portion then being removed and only the effect remaining on the track. This had the advantage that you could distribute the effect in the room regardless of the voice. I hope I made myself understandable? I think this was a successful move. All love and good Manuela
cheeers bro, i keep trying new genres i do try to sing im not great but engineering helps :)) i'd like a female to collab with, i think i could write something good but time will tell, i love roasting though. just changed this for another bit of sweet may work further on it
Nice drone vocals, piano is ambient and twinkly... this trap beat is pretty new to hear with the ambient chill vibe combination. Avant Garde for sure and unique
Hey Maj, first timer here and a big fan. Question, how did you achieve the aggressive sounding Kick? It sounds like you did more than just boost the low end frequencies.
Hello mate. Thanks for the feedback and the faves. Unfortunately, I have taken a break From LM after 11 years. When I'm back I will do you a screen recording of How I Do My Kicks. Enjoy. Maj
Dimestop i'm sure you'd kill tis track with just a bit of a faster flow on your rhyme scheme. The rhymes themselves are to be reckoned with, reminds me of bas and pete!
As a jazz fan, I am biased toward this sound generally speaking.
Manuela, I actually dont think anything in the vocals should be brought down necesarily. in fact I believe at times the sizzle on the snare overpowers some of the lower notes you reach. (This may be intentional..?)
Hello Z, thank you for listening and the nice comment. Maybe that answers your question a little. I like dirty drum sounds *smile. Now seriously. I think if you played the song live, some frequencies would overlap slightly. I think that with a band you should be careful and not overdo it with filters. In my opinion, that would destroy the song character that we as musicians actually want to convey. In other words, clinically pure doesnt suit us. But I can understand that people who come from a different music genre have difficulties with our attitude. For the most part, we are all studio musicians who earn their money by making music for others and by subordinating ourselves musically. The customer sets the tone, so to speak. Thats why were happy to be able to do what we want from time to time. This resulted in this loose formation that you can hear here at LM. So with a lot of seriousness in the matter, but still just for fun! Nice to have a new fan. I love my fans *smile Best regards Manuela
Eric, It seems you have a blended indie pop, cinematic and industrial vibe to create something that is hard to describe. I can see this being on a cinematic trailer of sorts or even teh intro to a show.
The voice is greatly mixed in and all sounds seem to blend together well, which im sure balancing was no easy task given the unorthodox sounds you used. bravo overall z
Thanks for comment, Zion. I think you are right about the mix of genres. It definitely does not fit comfortably into just one box. I'm very happy with the way the mix turned out. The instrumental parts, particularly in one section, have sounds that are in the same frequency range as the vocal. Not only were they competing for "space" in the mix, but the overall sound was somewhat harsh. Simple EQing did not fix the problem. So, I turned to a pro for help. Wytse really improved the mix. Took it to a place I was not able to reach. :)
I must say seeing the corporations do the things we were all told they would eventually do is scary beyond my comprehension. That being said. The composition on this track is great. I've never explored reggae myself but this song particularly would be accompanied greatly by some vocals warning of this exact phenomena in a cryptic but beautiful way
Hey Zivonmusic thanks so much for the kind words and acknowledging the terrifying truth of the corporations and their endless global grab of all the natural resources.
This takes me down a nostalgic place! I participated in Wind ensemble back in my highschool days and This was one of few classical songs we took to play. (This and Psalm 42 i believe)
It has always held a special place in my heart. Your voice is angelic and a massive compliment to the song's heartfelt lyrics and emotional composition.
Hello Zivon, thank you for your message and your compliments. Isn't it nice when you are reminded of the great experiences you have had in your life? I feel the same way sometimes. You hear a song and you're catapulted back into your own youth. Kind regards Manuela
The vocals involved my first experiment in automation with the delay/feedback. No real intention as far as the beat was concerned, I just liked it and thought it fitted. Cheers Zoot.
Love the bounciness and funkiness of this! Vocals are well done and well mixed as well.
The vocoder is great too. It reminds me of daft punk and a mix of The Weeknd + some of the greater oldies. The violins were an unexpected touch to add but complemented the overall mix too!
Nice! Sounds a bit R & B ish to me as well! Looking to add lyrics to it as well? I could see something maxwell-esque coming from this for sure. Keep it up, Z
Thank you, Z, for the positive feed back. I agree with you on that comment. Maxwell would put some fire on this track. If I were to add vocals, I think his style of singing would without a Dout work. Thanks again for the stop by. PEACE. T576 OUT.

I'm loving those pads, also your lows and highs blend very nicely with the drums.
Great chill vibe, where did you get the vocals if you don't mind my askin?

Mickey! Nice to hear a track like this from you.
very down to earth soulfilled track with a house(?) feel to it. Hoping I got the genre correct.
It would help the mix a little bit if you brought down the master, seems the waveform is a little large?
Great stuff melodically speaking

The heavy part with the drums plus the cillout ballad-like style in the very beginning reminds me of a unique mix of Hammock and Echosmith.
Excellent sound! One question, was there a particular reason why you guys chose to add the phaser effect on the voice?
Anywho, great stuff as always

Great composition as always Dime!
This one is different from your other stuff mate
That or it's just my first time hearing you sing on your vocals.
Maybe adding some adlibs in the background or a harmonizing will help the vocals take up more "space" if that makes sense?
Bravo,
Z

I really like the old radio sound of the vocals. Really adds a dark level of immersion in the song itself.
The kicks in the first half gives this song a HOUSE-Y vibe. Was this intentional?
Either way, well done
