Cool key changes. Ima sucker for natural sounds playing off real music. You gotta give it up for dog 2 and the seagull in this, because it perfectly selects the listeners experience. Lotta restraint too. Trippy in all the right ways. I really appreciate this in spite of the lack of narrative, and as a music person, I feel so jaded with pop culture? But lets be real, lets leave the narrative to the birds? Reminds me of that limelight before you lose consciousness... wake up.

Let this one be. Move on to what inspires you. I had tracks I beat into the dirt for years and I regret it. Speak your peace and keep playing what you want.

Hey, thanks for your listen and thoughtful comments. I think that's some good advice there at the end. Narrative is an interesting word, kind of implies some non random sequence of events else our brains wouldn't recognize it as such. But I'm not sure yet the whole shebang isn't some big joke being made up as it goes along.

I remember when I first met you, and you wrote this song made that made me imagine it was about this kid that was selling counterfeit baseball cards lol

This kinda feels like the 10 years after song. But except this time he is in the club vetted out in 80s gear sniffing out the scene. He is back to his old antics.

I do hope covid hasn't fucked you up as much, as it did me. You were a good friend, and I miss you dude.

    Wow this is lovely.

Have you ever experimented with tape machines? I am imagining the anticipation of the event and its overwhelming. Like all that I feel is missing is the moment BEFORE the samples fold and twist in musical shades and infinite hues, there is a click one the downbeat of 1 and that's it.

    What an experience! Very inspiring!

Curious? Do you ever hear melodies not already within the track? Is there anything missing that you feel like you could trace? Or is this one done? I get it tho, the first take is always the best take.
    Thank you for sharing!

    I really really liked this.
I hope you go more in this direction.

I like that you managed to really straddle both restrained but still managed to be complex. Something I always look for in music is some duality in the mix.

Sounds quite professional. A joy to listen to.

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for this sincere review, your words are most welcome here.
I have other similar projects, but they are still standing.
I'm glad you liked it, this song started with the idea of the melody, then I put the rest of the elements.
the melody has been for me the center of everything. The important thing is to provide good feelings as a result.
    thanks again.

My girl would not like this song lulz. I like it a lot. I like the low end, although I wanted the low end to carry it musically. It kinda just felt like the kicks had all the power and there was bass, but not enough. Like mix out the drums and bass and get a harder pounding sound while evening out the high ends. It's weird. When I hear this stylized spit, I think of it like the solo instrument. Just polish up the low end (drums are great)... it would just be fuller in general.

    Keep it up mayne.

You should try and add some ambiance or ambience to this to kinda show off the "fever" bit more!

I definitely enjoyed this. I would have used more crashes and open-hihats, but that can make for a very messy mix.

    Thanks for sharing the track!

Do you make your own effects pedals dude?
I mean speaking as someone that doesn't really play any instruments that is the one downside to making music...lol that sounds obvious, but you know what I mean?
Sometimes the sounds I hear scare me from using them when it comes to arranging because I don't have the connection with them in the same way I would if I had created them.

Anyway, thank you for listening and downloading. I'm still trying to get back into making music again.

love the gravity swell and congrats with a new EP!

alternate some of the swells that are at the right?... like i felt like you could add a really cool rhythm there. (2:00 mark?) more panning here would be cool i guess?

Super cool track tho... it has this sub bass kick thing happening, and the glitch is too cool.

I can't wait till I get mah new headphones. What I am working with right now is not doing this justice.

    Umn.. this is freaking awesome.
I wish I could write music like this...

I definitely don't disagree with Mythology, as I wouldn't have noticed that if he hadn't mentioned it.
Some more beater occasionally underneath that sultry bass.
And I love me finger snaps lol.

I love the strings.. And orchestration a lot.
Take this comment with a grain of salt, but on maybe a single violin/viola track, to manually draw in the wave so it gets kinda a nice tremello underneath the string movement?
Just a thought.. but not a complaint..

This thing just get's epic at 3:00... Hellsyes.

On my spectral analyzer in Soundforge, it looks kinda weird at the 16,150 on up?.. like it was dramatically attenuated at those frequencies and beyond. I am not complaining here either, but I just noticed it.
To be completely honest this sounds wonderfully mastered.

On the mix, I was noticing some things where LEFT specific?.. but it's probably my setup...

But yea.. You have been on a roll lately man.. everything you have been posting over the last few months, and your album have just been fuckingawesome.

I was gonna ask you.. if you like Massive Attack, what you thought of Team Sleep, Puscifier, the Little People, or Telefon Tel Aviv?

And after that question, I was going to share the Telefon Tel Aviv glitch idea ... How it works, is you set up your midi and audio clips as a somewhat mixed and completed mix.
After your happy with it, you go to the routing function on the mixer, and you route some sounds into a NEW audio track and basically bounce down the idea.
Once the idea is bounced down, you take the "NEW" audio track, and route that sound into ANOTHER audio track, but you set "ableton" to loop, and make a very small selection.
So as you are recording the bouncedown to the new track, you can manually move the "selection" all over the place and create radically new glitch masterpieces/breakdowns?
Ima have to make a video sometime, but I would love to see you mess with an idea like that... (it gets that instant Squarepusher/AFX glitch sound)

    Anyway.
    Faved.
    Downloaded.
    Awesome.

    Smooooth moves broseph...

I love that beater on the kick.. I wish it was actually hitting me in the head.

I hope you don't mind if I reinterperate some of my thoughts just listening on my bustadass headphones?

On the kick and timpani, I kinda wanted perhaps a little more clarification on velocity?.. Because it sounded like the sample was played at the same aggressive pace entire track, where as I felt you could have done some AWESOME and kinda built to the epic synth crescendo.

Bravo on the Synth btw.. I love your taste everything bass/synth.

Breakdown/Bridge was chilling.. Gave me chills. I danced in my chair from 3:15 on.

    Sick.

I am just happy to hear the plectrum/organ style making a come back.

Rhodes is where it's at.. It's like a better guitar.. just try throwing an amp sim on top and then upping the aggression on the chorus!

Totally sick.. Love the atmosphere. Get teh fudge out of Ohio/nowhere's Illinois already broseph.. that land must be more of a wasteland than the rural I exist in.. because you pretty much OWN respect.

    Progressive Independent hip hop. lulz

My big problem is that I think Religion is a joke.. So I have qualms with what Vizun (albeit one of the best rappers I have ever heard) but I read into shizzz way to much.
I especially like how Vizun takes the responsibility into his own hands (concerning lyrics) but I dislike how he kinda trivializes the religion and personal responsibility we have to ourselves.. you know?
In a way I agree, but ultimately I liken to the idea the WEAK die, and the strong survive... so yea... Take that with a grain of salt.

But yea.. Production wise, I wanted some more pads.. lol.. But you rock sesbrah.. do not stop under any circumstance. and gtfo of wherever you are at to a Bigger city with more theatre, because despite the internet, theatre still empowers local music... oh and Cocaine too lulz.

Like.. Really aggressive but not giving a fuch.

You ... are getting Much MUCH MUCH better. lol

Seriously.... And hells yea man.. I know some thunderstorms are coming my way.. I can feel it in my bad knee.

I love the funky breakadown there .. that's sick... sounded like drum midi subbed for piano part and I LOVE that.

ON a serious note.. I am full of sorrow, but it's something.. that I think in a way gives me strength?.. or am I kidding myself?
Sometimes.. I think I become soo numb to the pain.. And just become a patriach of half-truths and sarcasm.
An empty hook trying to sink a hungry bait.
I think the lonely world that I live in was perhaps self imposed at the beginning but has now become the inevitable wait.
Something that I can never escape.

When all we yearn for is a single soul to understand our own, the greatest pain is realizing a truth we can never show.

There is no one around me that I can feel that connected to, or share my heart with and in the absence of that emotional warmth, I only have the cold expanse of the Internet to document my human condition in jumbled thoughts and misguided plots.
(kinda stole this from a poem from Dostoevsky lolz)

    Anyway. DO NOT STOP.

I remixed some more and blew up my headphones..

    Ultimately it was worth it.

I have to be honest.. the simple motif (psh) .. the drums.. alone had to be a jigsaw.. I always admired that .. I always like.. Trying to accept that you were baddass, and that I shouldn't stir the pot unless it was getting cold.. and I took the LinnDrums to the extreme with some 808.
I played some real violin too..

I was gonna e-mail you, but it's been a long while.. April since you where on, and my e-mails are a current mess.

Anyway.. this song, despite your general apathy has a lot of emotion.. I often wondered what 5 centimeters really meant you know... In a lot of ways.. I think I do..
    But..

I will never forget you man.. If nothing else... I have all yer e-mails printed out and I always look fondly on your work... The universe and some of the bass excursions you did back in the day lol...

As far as quality, I love the sound.. very crisp.. I would sub the pop-filter for a pencil over the condenser mic imo.. I mean.. it depends.

When you got those "sssssSSSsss" or "ppphpppphhppp"
basically the S's or P's you say?
    You know?
You can block them by guarding the coil recording you by positioning your breathe before the mic.

SICK.. and I like how the drums got some reverb mid status.. I was thinking .. damnthemdrums need some verb! And there it was!

Melody was choice and so was title... Strings were wonderful..

    Awesome.

Plz add kick and sub sine wave bass around 160-0 hertz.
33 hertz being C1 Just humor me and throw a perfect sine up and follow the bassline around them frequencies.. it will pump this track to pro status in my opinion.
