Niiice! Definitely chilled with an element of mystery added, I like the tones & textures used to create the track and the broken up groove is on point. Great job and fav,
Hello, though I'm unfamiliar with the composer / composition in which you base your creation on. I do get what you were trying to convey and in doing so I must say that I enjoyed your track, your thought process, and the gerne you chose to express the composition trough.
Yes, him and Terry Riley were pioneers of minimalist ambient, following on from John Cage and others. Appreciate the listen and comment as always. Cheers Chris
I remember this jam from the 70s, you did a great job with your version. The groove it tight, the melody is grooving and it brings back memories of a great era of music that once was.
Great Job, a nice cover of the song and needless to say the band is rocking! Vocals are on point though sometimes in some of the phrasing I could hear a lil' "Diamond Dave" lol! I enjoyed this very much.
Hey Dave, it's been a long time and looks like you haven't posted on here in awhile (I've only recently returned to the platform), I do hope all is well with you my friend. Came across this track by accident and can't believe I hadn't heard this before when I was on the platform years and years ago.
Playing harmonics within the actual bass groove really sets the track to another level. Love the jazz influence / production of what you've done here and it all sounds great. And what a great tribute to the man James Jamerson, enjoyed this very much.
Definitely has a movie soundtrack-ish quality about it, the unexpected (what I believe to be is a rock guitar riff phrasing) starting at 2:13 and continuing throughout the rest of the track really gets your attention. Nice job...
Wow this was really nice, love the smooth ambient feel of the track throughout. Not sure why you didn't push the track given the date you released it? But it is certainly a very enjoyable track, great job and fav.
Hey Mark another winner here, it's always great to actually hear your creative process at work. So you're a drummer eh? That would explain how and why your drum parts are constructed with such fire. Also much like you I'm a Rhodes and trumpet fan also (I play keyboards not trumpet), I've mentioned before that I really like the fact that your compositions sound like actual live jazz performances and this track is certainly a continuation of that excellence. Great job as always my friend and naturally a fav.
"D"! Thanks much for the stop by, listen, comments, kind compliments, and fave. So you're a Rhodes and trumpet fan? We speak the same language my friend. It's huge, you find the ambiance here to be lively. Again, my motto is "Keep 'Em Fresh and Always LIVELY"! Peace.
Very nice vibe from start to ending, I like the intro and the use of the guitar work along with the organ which adds a great deal of warmth to the track throughout. The touches of rock guitar also add flavor to the mix. I enjoyed this track great job,
Nice production throughout. And though I'm not a fan of auto tune, your vocal style along with the syncopated rhythm / groove has a nice pop appeal which works well.
Perhaps this was your first version of this project? Don't get me wrong I like the concept and all it's just the song doesn't go anywhere from it's initial stage ie: build or changes. Other than that I think it's a good starting point if that was your intent.
Smooth groove, great vibes with a little mystery mixed in for good measure. I really like everything that kicks in after the 1:56 mark. Very nice and I enjoyed this,
Very Nice! Love the tone, effects & guitar overdubs used on this track. Nice laid back feel and your vocals fit the mood that you're projecting perfectly. So nice to see other musicians on here, I enjoyed this great job.
"Don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows indeed..." Your track embodies a mysterious, maybe even ominous feel about it in which perhaps you are trying to convey your message. In which case message received, I also like the fact (much like myself) that you've chosen the "say what you gotta say musical and don't prolong the song unnecessarily" if it is not needed approach.
hey Dennel, thanks for the listen and comments man. i wanted a ruined sound to reflect the images of ruin that permeates most media, its certainly permeated my consciousness. im not really dogmatic about song length, but it is particularly gratifying when my long-winded ass manages to bring a sense of brevity to bear in a track. would that that were always the case! peace, man
Nice! I like the rawness / unplugged sound of the track, and I also I like your vocal and melody structure of the song. I would agree with Eric in terms of being closer to the microphone and eliminating the background noise source. Other than that it's a nice song keep working on it.
Hey Eric I was reading your bio and I have to say it's pretty impressive. I like you am also a Dj (not professional), and I see that we also have some musical taste in common. In my high school days I was into groups like Kraftwerk, Art of Nosie, Depeche Mode, Flock of Seagulls, Thompson Twins, Wall of Voodoo, Devo, etc. I didn't discover "DaftPunk" until the early 90s.
As to your take on the Madonna classic I think you did a fantastic job. A very nice laid-back groove driven track and I really like your keyboard playing on this. I also like what sounded like a sort of delay / decay effect on the keyboard part that you played at 2:57 of the track.
Though admittedly I don't know why I had a sudden urge to sing ABC's "The Look of Love" over that part Lol! Great job and a nice, clean production. Best of luck with finding a vocalist and I certainly would like to hear the final track when you do.
This is a nicely done track, like the reoccurring hook throughout the song. The breaks at 2:01 and 3:00 were also nice and I like the guitar treatment at the end of the track.
Wow! This was very nicely done and creative, in my humble opinion this very much says "movie soundtrack" to me. The way you arranged / build the track using the elements of clocks, chimes, etc. Gives the track a mysterious and uncomfortable what's gonna happen to the character next sort of feel. great job and fav,
Very Nice! Like the somber opening to how you incrementally layer the track at 0;18 with the Hi-Hat building up to the main groove. A nice production very well done,
Thank You Dennel, First I thought it is too hard to put the clear hi-hat on the deep bass line. But know I think it works, thank you! Greetings Matthias
