Vicen, thank you very much, i really appreciate that. i saw your icon somewhere last week & wanted to visit your page again. i'll do it and drop you a line later this week. respect, jb
Great tune man, I have a track called the so it was a no brainer to hear what yours sounded like. I really enjoyed this, its kind of funny how person can have a song title and it be so different. Nice job and thanks for sharing.
thank you very much for listening and for your comments, Kyle. please note i did not write this song (see copyright). it's the only song on my page i didn't write. the words and music seem to strike a chord with me in a special way. i will visit your page later this week and drop you a line. jb
Hey, it means so much when someone genuinely appreciates your work thank you very much, MLTPjames. I see you have a number of tracks on your page Ill check em out and drop you a line later this week.
Emann, what a great tune, totally indie, lovely riff and chords and sweet guitar lead!
A suggestion: I think the song would improve if you worked the panning a little more the other way around, drums in the middle and spread guitar and bass , making it more "stereo". And easy on the vocals reverb. It also would be rather cool is you added a tambourine in the chorus, it feels like it's that kind of song.
I hope yo don't take these suggestions the wrong way, the song is a fav. /pmk
Thank you for taking the time to review and share your knowledge, Kikajon. your advice is always welcome & appreciated. I agree with everything you said and will do it. Only the pan actually is as you said - i think it was a stereo field processor I used that made the placement sound different. i'll also review this. Cheers, jon
Okay, first, vocal need to come more forward. Second, the effects on your voice, I think, are causing your vocals to compete with you instruments at some points and there's some fading. I only notice because I've had to deal with the same prob :-)
All it might need is some changes in the panning. The farther away you separate two competing voices (sounds) the less they will clash. There are some other things you can do as well. I have an ebbok with suggestions for dealing with such a problem. If you wnat, I'll send it to you.
Hi John, thanks for the specific input. I especially appreciate this type of review, which includes ideas to improve the song. I suppose its a bit obvious Im more of an old-school axe grinder than a digital age techie. Nonetheless, Im not proud to receive help whenever I can get it. Id appreciate the ebook, and Ill take into account all of your suggestions. Thanks again, JB
I like some of the modern country music. As a kid, I learned to play with my dad...playing Hank Williams Sr. stuff (the father of country music). I think the thing that took away that country sound I was looking for in this song is the VST drums, which 'are not' country. Anyway, good hear from you, and glad you enjoyed it. I guess its mostly the lyrics and vocal range, but I always seem to play this song to my self whenever I pick up the acoustic. You must be enjoying BC at this time of the year - I was born in Van, cheers! JB
Great song Emann, has hints of Alice Cooper and some great guitar sounds. I agree with the others it has tremendous potential..
The drums are coming through a bit thin.. I listened on both flat response monitors and the average Bass boosted media player sound. also there seems to be some issues with the vocal. I'm not the most expert, but it seems recorded at too hot a level. The Looperman thread on spectrum analyzing changed everything for me, I think by leaps. I also use the EQ while it's up, and will eq a track that's fighting for headroom towards a different frequency, towards "The Bald Spots" so to speak. So there's not big clipping peaks at the lows and highs ( as a Geetar player, I scoop my mids, sometimes too much) sure the loops here are great, but take advantage of the great tutorials in the forums. I liked this and hope to hear it again. Toby
Hi Toby, thanks for compliment: Ive an old Al Cooper fan (one a the first LPs I bought as as kid was Million Dollar Babies). Also I appreciate the specific input. I especially appreciate this type of review, which includes ideas to improve the song. As I said to John (above)... I suppose its a bit obvious Im more of an old-school axe grinder than a digital age techie. Nonetheless, Im not proud to receive help whenever I can get it. Ill check out your page and say hello, and Ill take into account all of your suggestions. Thanks again, JB
Nice track. Excellent guitarz. If you're interested in the great Looperman guitarists, other than the ones you listed, you may want to also check out Bilbozo, rei4real, and Steinna - they all rock your socks off.
Interesting Track, yeah it had kool twists and turns that were in a nice rock vain! was digging it!! The only thing that my ears picked up was one of the electric guitars was slight out of tune! but it worked with track all and all! nice work! keep it up!
Thanks for the review, Brian. I have this song on the CD player in my truck and when it comes on mixed in with G & Roses and Metalica, etc., I like how it sounds. Glad you liked it. I'll check out your page next week. all the best, jonathan
I actually think the different guitar textures add character to this one, and helps set it apart from the normal cookie cutter guitar tracks we hear from the guitar gods. Really nice job on this.
I hear what you're talking about regarding the effects of different mics. The track might well be worth doing over. If you have guitar bits you don't want. let me know. I'm sure I can find a place for them in a track.
I think this is a great song, country guitar is very unic vocals are good also but there is some parts sound little behind I like very much this song can you post the lyrics ?
Silvestre thnks for your comment. This is the only song on my page that i didn't write. The first time i uploaded it i included all of the following info, which is now in the copyright section. song written by Brett James and Ashley Monroe, recorded by Jason Aldean, Wide Open, Brocken Bow Records, 2009 "Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."
silvestre, i am truly honored, (and i hope you don't mind) becaused i liked your 'Christmas' guitar work so much, i dowloaded it onto my ipad. Hope to hear more from you in '11. Jonathan
