I really like this track. The picture it paints right from the beginning you can almost see the dimmed club lights or candles on the tables and band on stage. I don't know what else may be needed. Maybe what it really needs is nothing. Like those priceless statues with missing arms. It doesn't need to be made beautiful it already is.
p.s. Thanks for letting me known what axle F was saw the movie the other day and laughed my a off.
yeah this track has shitloads of potential!!! If its on FL I would collab on it definitely if you wouldn't mind me puttin my own spin on what you have so far....email me on
I've been extremely behind on emails n' stuff. I'd love for you to work on this track. Really, I just used a drum loop or 2. Then, added my own loops to it.
What do you need from me? Would you prefer the separate tracks or just the small loops?
I do love the Joy division style guitars on this one, and you've fused it with some completely different styles. Not an easy task, but you've done it well. A very entertaining track so far!
Your vox sound great as does the whole track. I'm gonna listen to it again when I have my headphones. Sounds clean to me. This track has a nice flow to it as well. I like! Good work.
Such a great track.Like this groovy jazz with this amazing guitar solo(nice clean sound). Is the singer from looperman?Think her voice is really perfect on that track Faved! French Kid
Unfortunately, the vocalist's not from LM. She lives about 4 hours away from me. This song is the first time she ever recorded. I'm glad you liked the track!
This is a very cool groovey tune. I might be confused, but there are hardly any vocals on this, intentional I'm assuming. Really nice guitar playing and tone. I really enjoy the relaxed rhythm of this track! Nice one!
EDIT- Seems like you got the upload problems sorted. The vocals are great! This is even more groovey now!
I appreciate your review & I'm glad you like the track. I record with a presonus firepod interface into Cubase LE. I use a few plug-in compressors to even out the vocal level.
woo this is what im talking about i love tho drums they sound too live and that guitar man....... Im trying to be more versetial and i would love to make a beat like this. but "wow" this i really great stuff...
I am listening to your updated version. I'd have to say it sounds more like Jazz than Blues. Just my opinion though. It sounds very good and the guitar does sound very clean so it was worth getting it 'fixed up'. I usually have that done right away with all mine as well.
I think you did a very good job on this tune and it will be great to hear it with female vocals on it. So let me know when you have done that and I'll listen again.
You might want to post it again in the forum as an update....or I suppose wait till vocals are added first. :-))) Thanks for steering me here, it was a pleasant treat!
I had to come and listen to this tune here featuring some Blues. The guitar and drums are right on. Good vocals as well. I don't sing myself. Most of my blues songs are done using slide since not many on here do that. My 3 part blues tune is a good example.
I think you did a very nice job here and I am happy to be your 1st. reviewer. Keep up the good work!!! Randy
Dude, I kinda forgot about this tune until you reviewed. Partially because of you, I re-recorded it a day or so after your review. I have 2 versions. This update is now in C instead of D. THANKs for your review!
This is a very strong song! Unlike some of the others who have reviewed, I'm not a big fan of overdubbing vocals, that's just me though. I agree this might sound better with out picking the bass. The mix sounds really nice though! Just listening to some of your stuff to hear how we could colab.
agree with Coney (minus the cowbell lol -- but that is just me- it would fit the texture) and bcway , but I hear you in there!
soo nice!
Definitely play the bass with the pointer and middle finger! no pick in fact, if you have a stand-up bass you should use that lol (wishful thinking-- right? I have been listening to a lot of MUTEMATH so that may be why)
sounds are definitely defined and in the mix drums are layered in a fantastic fashion, great job with the mic placement!
Hmn... What is that... It's like.. I want... http://www.massenburg.com/cgi-bin/ml/vocal_overdubbing.html?id=xffYSfdQ vocal overdubs but then cut volumes as accordingly i would think that mono would be the best bet (which I am sure you are aware of- so you don't have anything phasing out in the stereo spectrum)
I mean-- I like your overdubs you have! but - if you were to do multiple takes (identically) of the same vocal -- you would perhaps get a full round sound?
Like those big production techniques fer example, I knew a guy that worked in a studio with Alice in Chains, and Layne Stayley actually had 40 tracks of overdubs JUST for his vocals -- CAN YOU IMAGINE?!?!
I know that Butch Vig, when he produced Nirvana's Nevermind; he had to convince Kurt Cobain to do overdubbing for a more shiny sound, by telling kurt John Lennon swoooore by vocal overdubs
I dunno, It's a fantastic beautiful piece of work. I would love to stare at the waveform
First, I appreciate passing on the link to the Massenburg site & the stories. I love true stories about recording! So are you politely suggesting I redo the vocals? Or are you saying I should double track the lead vocal for a thicker sound? I know you def want me to redo the bass track without a pick. I realized today I still need to master this little track, too. Second, I greatly appreciate the depth you put into the review. This helps me improve. Thanks a million!
Love how the slide guitar compliments the beat so well. This track makes me want to tap my feet. This is a really good fusion of styles, it definitely works! Nice one!

Extremely good guitar work on this track! I like the drums too, you never mentioned if you played them yourself. Nice work on this track either way!
