While I do not understand the pop culture reference (as is usual), I can identify with the sentiment expounded in this song. Maybe my dubstep phase was my midlife crisis, but no way to be sure... either way, this is one of the more enjoyable and engaging dubstep tracks I've heard in quite a while! I see that you list Caspa as an influence, and I can totally identify with this... Caspa helped me through some tough shit. I also like the "In my other life I" section of your profile, as you can't go wrong trying to change the future for the better, I'm going to fave this one! I dig it!
Caspa's Well'Ard blew my middle-aged mind. More specifically, I was exposed to it through a fan video I caught offhandedly after watching an amazing Butthole Surfers fan video. I hadn't experienced music in that manner since the 90s when a lot of stuff seemed so fresh and all real. The 90s was a great time to be outside the mainstream. Caspa makes me feel right now is a great time to be out of the mainstream as well.
I faved this before I even started typing, and I don't even get into most dubstep any more. I could tell this was going to be deep and underground right away. It scares me how little people are willing to admit that drugs are a part of history. Spent the last hour watching and listening to vintage cigarette adverts, and you can just feel to sublime influence to several generations. Any way, sorry to ramble... I'm lovin this song. It's bordering on evil in a good way. I appreciate you visiting my track in your early days here on looperman, and I hope you will keep coming back (not to bring up AA!!!) Killer song, faved!
Thanks for your comment Spivkurl. This whole dubstep/brostep remixing stuff I've been getting into is my response to a midlife crisis. It makes me happy someone actually listened to it -- I can't even get my wife to listen to it.
