Totally didn't expect this from an "ageing wannabe musician (who cant play an instrument!!". :-) I so love this. It makes me wanna dance...with Austin Powers! All the instruments fit in their own space. This was so much fun. :-)
This is perfect! My husband is a fashion designer from Nigeria. Trained in Italy, now living in the States. His first collection of men's formal / fashion shirts will be at NYFW. The looks can transition from executive office to haute couture evening events. This track speaks to his journey of leaving home at 14 to travel and find his place in the world. It also points to this new, unexpected and welcome detour in his journey as a custom designer. Absolutely LOVE it!! And you just inspired the theme to his show!! Grazie Mille!
So good to meet old friends again...it's been a while now. I hear you're still in top form which is really good news!:) I think you captured the described feeling incredibly well ! Nice concept and production !Faved!:)
Yep one of your older tracks, great clarity in this one as with all your tracks, not much to pick wrong with it at all if anything, only which to my ears sounds slightly wrong is the female choir, maybe it comes down to taste, male choir to me fits and suits this track better then the female choir, not a big thing, would love to hear this just with male choir, great choice of synths and strings used, great beat...like said enjoyed the piece, after 2 listens still enjoy mate, nice work on this one, will be back soon to check out some more of your tunes...fav...Peace n respect mark...mosaic...hope you are keeping well mate...
we all know that pressure you talking about and this song with all of it's pads and synth voices gives back that feeling...congrats and handshake, Danke
Pet shop Boys meets High N er G movement of the eighties. Nice work, good use of vocals. awesome stereo mix of the synth stabs. Myself I have been awash in eighties nostalgia listening to early Dead or Alive lately. So this is a welcomed listen. good work. Steve
I can really hear this track way back when, your description was good. I liked the vox firstly. I listened to Ministry and other bands from that era when music was becoming more synthesized, it was popular and it was everywhere. TGroove mentioned Pet Shop Boys, good analogy. I can hear some more influences here as well. Nice guitar and synths with a cool arrangement, well thought out.
Even though this isn't my usual listening material I did enjoy this quite a bit. Thought the mix was excellent and it was interesting all the way through. Nice job Mark!
great to hear from you and really pleased you liked. Now seeing you on a dance floor that would be epic!!hope to catch up with you soon and hope all is well with you.
Great work, it definitely reminds me of a modern day Pet Shop Boys/OMD track but with female vocals of course. Definitely seems like you took the best elements of both the 80's and today. Bravo to you for making that work so well.
Hi TG, thank you for listening and taking time to comment, really pleased you like it and your comments confirmed what I was trying to achieve. A big thank you.
Hey, hey...look who is back!:) It was about time...welcome! I think we all missed the presence of the friendly bald gentleman who produces great music. Your comeback composition only confirms that dear Mark!:) You did with excellence what you intended to do! Great listen....in the 'fav' it goes!....and I hope we will see you more around here in the future!:)
hi Orlando...think you missed handsome out alongside the bald bit lol!!! nice to be back and wish I did have more time to be on looperman. A massive thanks for your kind comments so pleased that you liked, enjoyed and faved the track. Above all its just fantastic to hear from you, thank you my friend.
I always loved your musicality...this song is a good example for my state...good groovy...I'm the fan of these disco like drums...perfect synths with great creativity...just 1 side note: the vocs are a bit back for my taste...well?!
thank you Danke, your comments always mean a lot to me and its great that you like what I have done in general. It was going to be an instrumental track in the beginning and the vocals was sort of an afterthought but seemed to fit (after a bit of remixing and cutting!). pleased you enjoyed.
I really enjoyed this track. Sounds like Peter, Bjorn and John with less guitars, they are great btw. I just listen to a great slow song here that started my day off relaxed then this one instigated the coffee I just drank. What a day I'm having, lol.
Great energy. I thought the bell in the middle and end could come down a bit, other than that I am digging it! Thanks for sharing, gonna dl this one!
thank you and really pleased you enjoyed....and you are having a good day, a little less coffee though!! Going so sort the bell too. going to give Peter, Bjorn and John a listen. thanks again Wayne, best wishes, Mark
at 58 secs in you bring in an interesting keyboard sound which is a really nice new color. i like the space alien effects. nice upbeat feel and beautifully mixed. cheers.
Good job avoiding the commercial trap! The main parts sound like rolling down a hill ... Don't say "unfortunately", it's one of the few really amusing songs here.
Very much enjoyed it...this could be your another face...the positive one :-) don't take me seriously...
Those 'skaish' guitars are fantstic, the groovy is at the first class...my only criticism is that at the end I don't feel the place of that break (at around 3.00 to 3.15)...it could be better to fly into the big final without that stop...hope, you understand my sucker English...:-)
Hi Danke thanks as always, I wanted this to be very different and tongue in cheek!, I couldnt stop smiling whilst doing it!! but still wanted it of a reasonable production...and yes you are right about the break towards the end, I thought about playing through and think a will alter that. Thanks as always for your valued comments Danke, and hope all is well with you. My very best wishes and shaking hands back, Mark
Well it's snowing here today so this is a good injection of sunshine into an otherwise cold day. Like what you've done with the vocal. It fits perfectly and the sounds you've built around it are top notch. Nice touch with the bird song as well. I'm wishing i was at a cafe by the beach sipping back a mojito or something. Great atmospherics, great selection of instruments and well mixed. This track rocks!!! FR
Hi FR, Thank you as always, its stopped snowing now but I hope you are still chilled, and thinking of joining you by the beach! above all comments like this from you just mean an awful lot, so I am so pleased...thanks FR appreciated so so much. My very best wishes and take care. Mark
hi. firstly excellent vocals here. there's a some radio station called ChilliZet playing exactly that kind of music here in poland 24/7. overall a great combination of loops - I do not think I will reach that very stage of radio oriented chillout, some of my tracks are really chilled though. Niiice work. Alex
Hi Alex, thank you for listening and liking, I will try and have a listen to Chillizet too. I am sure your tracks are good, I am going to have a listen now. Thanks again for taking time to listen and for your great comments. Best wishes, Mark
