actually, I haven't made music in about a year now... In fact, this was my most recent track.. I had an offer for a contract at a lable record, but when this guy commited suicide I kind of stopped making music. I don't feel like I have inspiration or talent anymore but I really want to create new music again. At the moment I am working on a game (Called Five Nights at Torchwood) and the soundtrack is the most recent thing I've done with music.
So I guess it's time to start with creating music again.
Age doesn't matter, only talent does (or skill, really, which is talent honed by practice). Look at Mozart starting his career at 5. And you, my friend, have both talent and skill. Your skill in production will continue to grow naturally as you do more stuff, but it's already at a high level. But your talent exceeds many of the much older members of this community, probably mine included. It's a sophisticated understanding of structure that you have (and that you have in common with Mozart). You know how to take a theme and develop it with an interplay of repetition and variation (that's really all music is, repetition and variation). Your bass theme is hook-y and attention-grabbing and gives the piece a great and solid structure, as you return to it 3 times after passages of melodic variation. Some cool synth work 2/3rds in. I never got bored listening to this - twice! - whereas with a lot of other tracks I do get bored because there's too little variation, build, structure. I'll look forward to hearing more from you.
the only problem as an artist is that you don't know if other people get bored while listening to it a couple of times, because most of the times you already hat the song because you had to listen to it 100 times :P
DJ,for 13 years young, you got skills. I may have used a more dynamic drum sound to compliment the overall sound. Drums sound soft for what you got goin on. Hot track though. Just my opinion. PEACE. THE MACK MAN OUT.
I got what spiv said about video game vibes, I could imagine myself owning some zombies to this man! I would like to hear the basses hit a little harder but great work anyway. Good to see other young people on here...15 years old here. cheers
