nice tracks man, ive always been a big fan off the over-compressed "breathy" sounding hip hop production. And i like the fact youre using some different drum patterns, some slighty off beat stuff that gives the track a lot more flavor
Thanx man... I get the Samples from here... Minor2Go is the pack master!!!!! Then I just fuse genres together cause I spent most of my childhood watching old Mtv from the early '80s! Got plenty more of the type of music and more! Holla anytime maybe we can work together on something?
I'm trying man... you keep doing what you do, and it makes it soooooo much easier on me! I have 1 more tracks I gotta finish them post for you to hear of your stuff! Holla!
I really enjoy your mix here. I do have some thoughts though that may improve the potential of the fusion of genres you've got going on here.
First off; basics. Try to avoid that obvious loop sound as much as possible. This disturbs the flow of the track, and doesn't bode well for a track like this. However, this is incredibly difficult, especially when using loops. I do believe with the programs you have though, you should be able to get the sound you want by composing your own work through VSTI's.
Next off, is the repetition. Many do not have a problem with it, but I however do. You've got a fantastic build and mix on this track, but it's base never changes. Ever. Mix it up a little man! Go a little outside what you're used to. Try even putting the track down for a day or so, coming back to it and try something new. You'd be surprised as to what you can come up with. You've got the imagination, put it to use!
The last bit that I could suggest working on is not to focus so much on that long bass kick. Try lowering the levels on that beast a little bit, then adding in a bass guitar or something to add even more texture. In a song like this, texture is incredibly important to make sure the flow of the song is continuous.
Anyway, It's 3 in the morning and I gotta work at 12. I hope my review was helpful. :) All in all, like I said before, I really like the combination of genres you have here. Use them to their fullest potential to bring out what you were going for!
Wow... I never saw this comment! Thanx for the feed back man... It's funny but I did evolve alot in the same ways you were saying. I noticed alot of the repetition and it was driving me insane. I've got some new stuff to share with the community. Come take a listen! ;)
