Vary calm energy to this piece, and I'm really enjoying listening! Love your bass line, it's nice and powerful. A very good thing to hear after going out in the world and dealing with all the frustration at how people have become, so thank you for that. I think it's great! Fave!

I am sure Barry wouldn't mind if you put a vocal to it just please post it here on Looperman and post the link.

Amazing trance work here my friend! Super potent, and it sounds oh so good loud! The vocal parts really are awesome, you did an excellent job. Definitely one of the best trance tracks I've heard. Love the way the whole mix pulsates, very creative. Oh bummer, no download... I'll just have to fave it and keep coming back to listen! Nice one!

I listen to your masteredup version of this song after i did my own versions.

This is a diffrent version of the SBM track and it was a intresting idea with this pichedup piano. But it makes the track in my ears/eys a bit too shiny. But maybe it isnt realy the piano.......
What i realy love is the drum part. The bassdrum comes very nice.

    Cool work

    stay tuned

This encouraged me to go back to my entry and try a lot harder. The piano pitch up was a very clever move but if everyone then went and did it we'd be accused of plagiarising :)

    Hey Ensam :)

Really good idea with shifting the piano up.. definitely adds more sparkle and gives you more breathing space.. wish I thought of that now lol. I also like how you managed to vamp up the kick drum and get it to stand out.

The only thing for me really would be that the woodwind at the end was a little over-powering, but not by a great deal. Good job man!

Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it. I hear you on the woodwind thing but it really caught my attention as a stand out part a bit like the melody from the original War of The Worlds theme tune (showing my age now).

    Simon, beautiful work!

The pitching of the piano was a really smart move because there were a lot of things occupying the mids. Love the delay on the percussion. You cleaned up all of the timing issues. I think the most impressive thing is the amount of clarity given to each instrument, and then the outstanding use of dynamics to build to the end.

I knew you would set the bar really high for the others, and you did just that. This shows just how good a great producer/arranger can make a song in the studio. You illustrate that even when given stems that are not quite up to standards, a gifted engineer can make them sound really impressive.

I thank you for showing just how good this one could sound. Bravo my friend. It will be fun to see how the competition responds to this terrific effort.

I hope all is well with you and the family.

I'm enjoying your take on this track very much! It's nice to listen to this before I start working on my mix effort. Has some really good panning going on, and overall the mix is nice and clear. Timing seems good too. The electric guitar has a nice tone, haven't heard the stem for it yet, but I'm assuming you improved upon it. Good work!

thanks mate I appreciate your kind words, I'm looking forward to hearing all the other versions. As for the guitar its only eq and compression and for the last section I doubled it up and panned it L and R a little to make space for the strings and woodwinds.

    Thanks again

    Hey Simon

Mate saw TRANCE and had to check this out, as you know trance in my fav genre to do, mate as I have come to expect from your tunes, very high quality production, noticed in one of the reviews left about the tempo, personally think the tempo is spot on for the type of trance, excellent vocals created, work so well into the mix, maybe giving little dance feel to the piece, nice use of the piano to give the uplift feeling back into the track when needed, sounds like one of the pads/synths is in reverse mode which I really liking...very impressive work my friend, look forward to hearing what you do next...MASSIVE Fav...Peace n Respect Simon on this one for sure...Mosaic...

I'm not much of a trance connoisseur but I think you did a good job on this track. It sounds great to me & your efforts paid off. The only thing I would critique are your downlifter kicks like StaticNomad mentioned earlier they seem to be in places where maybe some kind of fx or different hit could be instead or even just nothing.

Very nice. Lots going on and interesting to listen to, i.e. I didn't get bored. Good overall production, arrangement and choice of sounds.

However, I prefer my trance faster and more exciting than this. But that's just me :)

    Ensam
    Reply by Ensam

Thanks mate, I would prefer this to be faster and more exciting as well. Its my first attempt at this genre in a while and I have to agree on second listening that the tempo is too slow and there is not enough going on in the track.

I really appreciate your honesty and thank you for taking the time to comment.

I was reading your response to staticnomad about how you produced the vocal parts, that must have been a fun challenge, like creating your own language in a way. I like them, they are a nice touch.

Not my typical music listen so I can't really get into the ins and outs of trance but I did like the track. Nice choice of instruments, things all seem to work well together and it's a great mix.

    Well done Simon!

Thanks Wayne, yeh, the vocals were kinda the focus of the experiment and I am really satisfied with how they worked although frustrated by their stiffness, brought on by the amount of work involved in creating a small phrase.

We gotta push ourselves in different areas in order to get better..... ;)
