It's a very impressive stirring, epic track and I'm not surprised it took so long to get right. I sometimes spend years on tracks though these days it's more like months.
Are you using some programmed software acoustic kits? I use Superior Drummer and EZ Drummer expansion packs and some of the fine drumming here reminds me of some of the stuff I'm able to get out of that software. You certainly enjoy big fills and double kick work (me too).
Shitloads of good guitar work in this. If you're really not such a lead guy then you've definitely worked really hard at it. Lots of great runs and big solos.
2:16 mostly drumless breakdown is big and epic. Crowds enjoy that sort of thing live as it's exciting seeing the drums return, as you know they must.
4:45 useful breaks around here which are a bit of a relief after all the prior guitar onslaught.
I don't love the vocals but they're a classic hard rock type that lots of metallers love. Along the same lines, I don't like Bruce Dickinson's vocal style but millions of others do. As already mentioned, the vocals could probably do with being a bit louder in places. Or guitar turned down a bit.
I can hear some of the orchestral parts but not the flutes. I guess they kind of merge with the orchestral parts. You probably could have provided more variation in the track if you had brought the orchestral parts out a lot more ie turned the guitar down. There's already so much of it elsewhere.
Finally, I love your very conclusive ending. Perfectly done!
Check this for me doing some flute metal, though it takes quite a while to get to it:
Thanks for the in-depth feedback, appreciate it! I'm using EZ Drummer with the Metal Machine expansion and a lot of the fills I'm using are from that expansion which is probably why they sound familiar.
A lot of the orchestral parts, flutes, and effected guitars merge together in a big mush, which is kind of the effect I was going for. I will definitely check out your tracks shortly!
Great instrumentation, really nice drum rolls and breakdowns. Outdoes the vocals though for sure. I agree with DJshemzee too, they could also be a bit louder. Excellent guitar playing and the mix is pretty nice. No real critiques except the vocals, overall arrangement was pretty dope. Very nice job, peace
This song has a good feel to it, lots of momentum and dynamics! ShemZee has an excellent voice, and it fits right in with this style. Pretty well balanced mix, with a good stereo field. Did you play these guitars? If so, nicely done! I was going to give a suggestion on how to bring focus to the vocals as ShemZee mentioned, but I checked out the pella and it made it more difficult. I was thinking you could make the reverb a bit less wet, but it's possible that the reverb is all in the original vocals. If you did add any, you may want to reconsider, as this may bring out the vocals without adjusting volume much. Great song though! Fave!
Thanks for the kind words! I did play the guitars. I think the vocals probably need to be a bit louder, I didn't alter them at all from the original track. I'll work on an alternate mix.
an amazing track my friend...one of the best I`ve heard my voice into...just one little thing I think you could make the vox a bit louder like the ones in Street Walker
At certain occasions it sounds more rock than metal and sometimes viceversa; when the fast-paced drums strike in and multiple guitars enter it sounds more metal than rock.
Nice music! :) By the way, could you listen to my electronic music on Bandcamp, if you have time? I would really appreciate it. Link: http://electronicxpmadness.bandcamp.com
Thanks if you do listen to my music and keep up the good work!
I think this should go to the heavy metal category... The track is stunning. i really like the drums and the guitar tune... the production sounds professional and i guess you are(if not you should be) This definitely goes to the favs... keep it metal \m/ Peace
Very interesting track! You used good vocal parts (I like the voice of our DJSZ) and complimented them with a superb guitar work. Really outstanding: - I love a lot the guitar sound (in some moments it's very close to VHalen) - you alternate more "energic" sections with more epic ones (for these, BlindGuardian is a name that comes to my mind, but you keep your own original style). Very Good! For me, this was a real discovery: one "avatar" more that I need to follow ;-) Ciao, Domenico
What a professional sound and play...man, it's awesome...no bad sides of this production...guitars, bass, drums are perfect, vocs are brilliant, mix is stunning...your guitar harmonies are way higher than the average...progressive but 'care of the traditions' too...for me sometimes Van Halen, sometimes Judas Priest feelings appeared but only in attitude...
This tune is great man! I love how the vocals mix so well with the beat you managed to create. Only suggestions from me, would be to turn up the vocals, as they're kind of low and maybe add some EQ to the mix. Other than that this song is pretty much great the way it is. Love the quick solo guitar part too, its great. Overall nice work man, keep it up!
Now this is the coolest use of steklos vocals. Dig that guitar all the way dude. Your aim is on target and exceeds with much interest and energy. Rockin' and a rollin' down this street of new old memories for me. Great work, a fire production I'd say. Thank you for sharing, enjoyed this song. Peace.
well there are some excellent riffs in this track and the mix is awesome. although some part are a little bit confused to my sens it's still an excellent track. keep up the good work
Man first thing..thank God it's not HipHop! lol....just kidding but it's good to hear some shread for a change...I dig the vocal style and complimentary intense guitar work and the middle transition if F...ing cool!...Tasty guitar work out, some people would think this is all over the place..however we both know it's very creatively crafted with some righteous chops on display....I think the drum levels need to be up a tad to add some more bottom thump, but that's probably because a Hip Hop protovirus has somehow permeated the Looperman audio player!lol......enjoyed it! cheers Planet
sounds good that was an under statement that freaking rocks cant wait to here the finshed version.......i got enough music material to supply the world now im sharing ive wrote thousands of songs

I really love the whole Iron Maiden Soundhouse Tapes feel to it. But I think the vocals are a bit flat to be honest. Rock on dude! :)

This reminds me of Arch/Matheos.
Drumming is probably the highlight for me here. Guitar is good. Some parts predictable, some just bad ass!
The whole lead up to 4:00 was pretty sweet, not to mention the following solo that is very fitting.
I would have screwed this track up by over layering it. Just when I think you're going to, you break off into so Liquid Tension Experiment type stuff.
I do dig.
