Nice to see you're still knocking out quality music Ed. I'm in fairly good shape apart from being 71 now!!! I woke up one morning to see the Rolling Stones at number one in the album charts and The Beatles at number one in the singles chart I'm like... there's a glitch in the matrix!!! I thought the last sixty years might have been a dream and it was really 1964....
Hello silverman...good to hear from you mate & glad to hear you are well..the golden years are a challenge for many (I`, 8 yrs ahead of you so you`ll never catch up..HaHa). I should have packed this music thing in long ago but I`m too addicted to ever quit. Good to hear those old guys still sounding like they always have..we were fortunate to have gone through those music decades when real players did it. Thanks for stopping by man...best to you..Ed
Yes Ed, I'm afraid you're right! I also pointed out many months ago that if nothing changes, LM will perish. It would be a shame if one of the few platforms that could give musicians a home, especially in this day and age, would die. But what the heck, my hope dies at the last smile
have doubts that LM is going to be around much longer..latest blog post is from 2022..forum is gone..no involvement by admin in quite a while. Have caught up with a few former LM artists on SC etc but I am not spending as much time on music since my ears crashed & I closed my project studio. Think I will just check in once in a while to see whats up & try to post a few loops once in a while for those that don`t play..keep on..Ed
Hallo Ed! Wow!!!! Fantastic! The mix and the song are not only great but beautiful. Excellent work. Unfortunately, I wasn't here 10 years ago and therefore can't talk about the good old days, like "Danke". But I really hope that over time great musicians like you will come back here again. I'm definitely looking forward to getting to know you all musically here.
Hi Manuela..many thanks for the very generous comments. Like Danke I miss some of the old LM crew who have moved on but fortunately we still have a few around so I am always glad to come upon artists like yourself here. I haven`t been around the place much but still keep a few tunes over on Soundcloud...Cheer & best to you and yours..Ed
my fav santana is the 73 record welcome. the dots connect just after the 2 min mark when you really start singing. ok, on 2nd listen its more obvious but i love how cracked some of the sounds are. its black magic. really good to hear you, ed!
I think the very first one I bought got the most play. It was among the last vinyl lps I let go when I moved a few years ago...big thanks for the kind comments mate..Ed
Hey Ed! Big guitar sound, Carlos would give you 2 thumbs up! Neat intro, wanted to order some lime in the coconut for a minute but you weren't kidding about the vibe, spot on. Like I've said before, always a treat!
Yo Wayne...a bit slow on my replies as usual. Good to hear from you my friend & glad to find you still here. Big thanks for the generous comments. Be over to check on your place shortly..Ed
fantastic work Ed as usual, the guitars are so cool great sound that sustain is fly on the lead, drums are cool for me, love the change up playout, good vibe great mix and production well done i enjoyed my listen
these fast-paced, emotional, ultra-genius songs are the ones that make me hit the like button immediately from the first beat or sound played... hi my friend ... and I'M GLAD THAT YOU DON'T FORGET THIS COMMUNITY, WHICH IS NOT THE SAME LIKE 10 YEARS AGO, BUT WE'RE STILL HERE ... Ed, yours songs are flying as always, with an unspoken message about the humility of music ... fistbump bro, Danke
Hi Danke my old friend. Glad to find you still here. A lot of musicians have left LM for other places and we seem to have mostly loopers these days but happy to have found there are still players here. Big thanks for your support Danke. I hope the world is treating you well over there..Ed
No brainer for me to hit play when I see a tumbleweed track. Masterful work, totally fluid lead lines. And the change ups to the more rythmic side of things are are a treat. Had me nodding my head at the 2:30 mark or thereabouts. And that's some freaking lovely sustain on the guitar, and the tone...
Fantastic track and especially the guitar is absolutely on point. Not sure how you got hold of the great man's demo tapes ;) but totally well done. The only thing you could consider is to have a bit more of a latin/clave drum loop, what you have now is a bit "straight", although it works well. In any case, great stuff, and I really enjoyed this one!
appreciate your comment my friend, and don`t disagree with your comment on the percussion...been using loops lately as I dislike any of the drum software I have tried and my latin loops sounded a little tame...big thanks for the listen. Brest to you...Ed
This is a lounge great mircophone dropping the song. The bass if it had a sloghter stronger boost. It'd be an easy song to drop to a DJ playing Massive Attacks' Safe From Harm and people would think it came from the same band... or easily at any bar playing lounge.
Hey Ed! Sorry I missed this one, was going through the first of 2 hurricanes when you posted this, power was out for days, just got my new roof put on. Hope you are well.
Sultry track, love the composition, nice breaks and some great instrumentation and playing. The vocals hit the spot!
Scary stuff on our tv showing some of the storm damage..can`t imagine what it would have been like..we just mostly freeze in the prairie blizzards up here. Glad you are ok. Don`t get much music time myself Wayne. Have quite a few I could post but I don`t like taking forever getting back to those folks thoughtful enough to leave comments.Good to hear from you and big thanks for the comments..Ed
Hey, Ed!! I had to scroll through the comments, because I couldn't believe I let this one get past me; but, apparently I did because I saw no comments from me! LOL. Well, it goes without saying that you are one of handful of geniuses on this site. I was captured by the interplay between the guitar and sax--Brilliant! Without you mentioning it, no one would believe that your composition and the vocal were done independently of each other; it's a solidly cohesive work. Well done absolutely.
Hi Mykael...good to hear from you my friend and thank you very much for the listen & comments...I should really print out your comments and pin them on the fridge so I can tell the kids...see.HaHa...,uch appreciated...gotta head over to your page & see what you`ve been up to...Ed
Hello, sir. It's always a pleasure to see "the old dude" has been around. Think of it as a bourbon, my friend. We just get better with age.
Speaking of bourbon, this track could easily be paired with a double shot of Mitcher's US 1. It's high class, smooth, spicy, smokey and sweet all at the same time. And, it was meant to be enjoyed. The tones on your guitars never cease to amaze me. You definitely have an ability to match textures from instrument to instrument to create contrasting and complimentative layers within the track.
This one isn't as Ed-centric by way of solos, but the subdued restraint certainly allows the vocals to shine, and graciously shares the stage with the sax. Brilliant composition.
I hope things are going well for you these days. I hope the light has begun to shine for you again.
Hey Aaron...good to hear from you old friend. Appreciate the generous comments. I am still grateful for the addiction to music although life has been unkind in recent times & still hard to find the motivation and time I used to have...but no complaints...I am grateful for the many blessing I have enjoyed over the years, including the music friends. Winter will no doubt keep me locked in more and maybe the music will flow better. Many thanks Aaron...and my best to you..Ed
Heya Ed, it's good to see you back here again. Wow...gorgeous piece. Stellar arrangement, production, and as always, ace guitar work and tone. Can't wait to hear more of your upcoming music. Be well and stay safe. Regards,
Hey Pete...great to hear from you. Don`t know if I would have found you under the new name. I haven`t been very active on LM and don`t have the time I used to (nor studio space/equipment). Many thanks for your generous comments...Ed
Hey Ed, this is super. Crunchy drums, nice guitar chords, and what a magnificent vocal. Nice structure too... oh and there is a a lovely bass. It's got everything! Fav'ed!
Hello, in this song everything plays together. The voice, the guitar, the sax... It has a certain lightness. That is beautiful ! The female vocals fit perfectly. You have created a beautiful song that is fun to listen to. Great ! Kind regards Manu
hiya Ed! supple playing like yers is treasure. this finds you right back in the pocket, not that you ever left it! i always admire your instinct, man thanks for showing us how dude!

Can't the old LM crews be contacted and brought back? To make things more varied again on LM?

Very original and enjoyable to listen to.
The voice just sounds like she's singing live on the track.
Well done!!
