Strikes me that your sound has evolved in very special ways since I last heard your stuff! I had to listen to this one, due to the reference to "talking" drums. A couple years ago, I picked up a mali tama talking drum, which I have since sampled. They are a creative instrument to be sure, with a wealth of tone. The tribal connection in your track is very apparent, and gives me good feelings! Your style is still prominent, which makes me happy! Going to favorite this song! Thank you for sharing!
Hi. Patrick. I have been on here a little bit today. I know we have had some dialogue since your comment here. I hope things have settled down enough so that you can create. Hit me up on messenger or something. I would really like to meet you in the near future
Thanks Maj. It is amazing to have music here from years ago still discovered and appreciated. I look forward to checking out your recent work. Regards, Dan
Very nice track, Dan. I was inclined to call it a "challenging" listen, because it is complex and constantly varying. I think it has a consistent time signature, but the way you have the drums and synths programmed it seems to be evolving continuously and most particularly in the last minute of so. I thought you did a really good job of integrating the vocal chant. Just the right touch on that.
Was nice to see that there was some dynamic range in the piece, although I would have liked to hear a version with even more variation. But, that's just my latest hobby-horse.
All in all, an innovative piece of music. You and Crucethus are inhabiting the same zone I think. Very nice work!
Hey Eric thank you for the nice comment if there was a sense of evolution in the piece I'm gratified in that because the idea is to have this trance style coming along and it's been quite the challenge for . look forward to hearing your stuff and have a great day
Nice, rich sound choices. The mix is very bright and clear. I like the LFO stuff going on in the background gluing it all together. Vocals is a nice touch.
Impressive piece Dan, I'm really digging this. I can't believe I did not hear this before. Speaking of Neal Visher, have you heard anything about him? I hope you are safe and well mate. As always, stellar job on this one. Stay cool and keep making music and art.
Great track! Love the heavy use of Percussions, really bring out the Latin flavor of the track , though it could use a bit more mastering, overall it's an epic track!!
When I listen to the track I envision a beautiful mermaid and feel like I'm underwater. The title fits the song well and even though you didn't label the track trance I would consider it that. It welcomes the imagination.
I appreciate that suggestion. My goal with this one was to come up with something people could feel on the floor. I don't think I achieved that - ended up more of a fancy pop song - so hence electronic may be the ticket
Thank you for the love toobloops. When I first started producing my tracks reminded folks of the music from old school video games. Now apparently I've made it to the 80s. Hopefully with a bit more listening and mastery of sound design I'll step in to the 21st century. Dan
Thanks beatmaker. By vox not sure if you mean the vocal track in general or the little clips I created for a bridge. Either way, happy if it is all fitting together a little bit. Next goal is to take something less than 10 months to finish one of these.
I took some short cuts at the end for the sake of finishing. I did, subsequent to posting this version, try isolating components better, mostly with EQ. It may be I am too used to this mix because the more refined versions lost the hard hitting quality that sells this one on me.
thanks for the honest feedback. it is well taken. Dan
Loved it right from the get g!. Upbeat and fun to listen to. Very surprised there haven't been any takers on this one up to this point.
I used to drive home from work and listen to a great reggae show(and it's genre offshoots) on a radio station in Boston. I used to bounce around in my seat listening to music like this and looked forward to my hour long ride home.
Nice mix, clear and I can understand the vocals clearly. You have a hidden talent singing this kind of music, ;). I want to hear a sub bass in there somewhere, even if it's simple whole notes, something to shake the walls a bit.
It's great to hear from you Wayne. I listened to and enjoyed something of yours in the last few days but did not think to comment. I remember being impressed and inspired by the fact of people like yourself actually playing and recording real instruments. Still nothing can compare.
I pushed hard to the end on this one and felt it sort of sat okay without too much in the weeds mixing. i'm glad for your confirmation. there is always something else, something different we can do. Best wishes - Dan

So I think this track is ingenious. Creating a sound then changing the tempo, and adding drums in the new mix is awesome.

Based solely on the mix, this sounds more electronic than EDM to me. Great work tho. Keep it up!
