incredible! honestly, i have only ever heard dissonance highlight how beautiful consonance is when it resolves back to it, i have never hear actual dissonance sound beautiful...until now. this is a unique and awesome creation. well done!
I find that I have a knack for creating beats that are wild and crazy using different genres of loops. I noticed you have over 30 tracks so I'm going to check out what your style is. Thanks for checking out my music and look on my profile for more beats.
Thanks for the review. I never really learned how to tell a key by ear, I just make my tracks sound like they are in tune. What do you expect from someone who grew up learning to play the drums? Keep on groovin' in the free world
That saw is pretty wicked. The perc just caught me off guard there haha. You know Im feeling like a gate synth should drop in too. That or some high up piano you know? Nice break down, changes up the track nicely. The thing i really dig about this track is how it uses repetitive trap beat techniques in a creative and thoughtful way. Good work.
Thank you for the review. I appreciate all the thoughts on what to do and will experiment with the ideas here soon. If I update the track, i'll mention your insight.
Everything sounds real good. I like how compact that kik sounds and the percussion feels good. The disinterested bassline fits perfectly. Nice groovy tune here man!
How could I resist such a tantalizing title? Super fun track, I love when people blend genre's and you've done so very successfully here. I agree that a little bump to the bass drum could fill this one out big time. But super fun and solid as is. Curios to hear more! keep it up!
Nice ambient funk rock intro, has a smooth laid back vibe that's easy to get into. Guitar is a good addition... change up at 1:25 is interesting, I like how the guitar gets chopped up, synth grows on you though would be curious to see how it compares to more on-key version but I get your idea to juxtapose the various loops. Beat at 2:00 is fitting, transition at 2:50 is quite nice and I like how it reminisces the intro overall good wrap around to past sound experiences, builds nicely. Maybe repeats a bit too closely towards end but that's a personal preference, keep this experimental stuff up it's a nice change from the mainstream. - DF
I heard the other track you uploaded right before this one. I don't hear as many sonic key issues in this one. I think the intonation on some of the instruments on this one make it sound a little out of key. That happens sometimes with different effects you layer on top of your sounds. (Happens to me too by the way.) I like the laid back feeling here. Do you work strictly with samples or do you play the instruments? Do you build the beat or use a sampled beat. I think this one is cool.
On this track, so far all i've used is samples. I plan to add some turntables, maybe a solid bass guitar line of some sort. I got a whole plate full of tasks to do in music. I produce all the beats n stuff, write rhymes, and go to school full time. I thank you again for listening. Feel free to review some other tracks of mine and let me know what you think. I enjoy honest criticism
this is the first track i've hear from you so i can't comment on the progression so far. But I think the mix is pretty good. The distorted guitar sounds like its not in the same key as the synthesizer. And then it has a sample come in that doesn't sound like its in the same key. Its best to make sure all instruments are in the same key. However the kick and the snare sound like they sit well in the mix and the other instrument levels seem to fit well in that framework too. keep it up!
Thanks for listening to my tracks. I appreciate the feedback on it all. I just dont know music theory very well. I'm self taught on music for the most part. I used to play drumkit for a rock band, but obviously you don't need to read notes to hit a tom, bass, snare, or high hat lol. I have the "Idiots guide to Music theory" that I haven't cracked open yet. All in time i guess
Well thanks a ton man!! Glad to see someone on the East Coast digs my music. I appreciate all the reviews that you did. If we were located closer, I'd ask if you would like to come into the studio and lay down vocals on a track. Stay real and good lookin'!!
