I like the vocals. They're clear and concise. The instrumental levels could be brought up just a tad to balance out the overall mix. The vocals really caught my attention :)
Thanks very much for the kind review. You have compared me to some of my fav artists, although my sound is not intentional trying to sound like anyone else.
Cheer up sob , this is vintage 95 Vedder, 90s rock with strong blues vocals echoing around the room. Eddie climbing the ceiling rafters... sweat on his hands no safety net 40 ft in the air... all taking place during an Even Flow guitar solo. Cheers good vibe peace.
Man this is a really good song. I dont really know what to see. Man i would love to do a crazy collab with you. Maybe like electro rock. your guitar riffs are perfect and you got a good rock voice. Get back at me if your intrested.
Hey man, Sorry that it has taken so long to reply to your review, Thanks for the kind review. I think I e-mailed you about that collaboration you talked about,
Thanks for taking the time review my track. I have only heard one song by Fall Out Boy when they were on Saturday Night Live. So I hope that this is a positive review?
Yeah, Dylan and Young are good analogies here - folk sensibility and compulsion in delivering an important narrative. I'm still waiting for Pacific Northwest Folk Punk to arise. Dude, sonically this is such an evolution of SubPop! It's been a long time since I thought about The Screaming Trees, but after listening to this I'm going to dig out my vinyl again! Thanks!
My vote for the rock genre in the all genre competition.OK Martin you know how much I like this track because its a complete package, I've already reviewed it but I'm back to give you my vote for the rock track in the all genre competition because of that there are a lot of great tracks in this category (including mine, lol) but yours has everything a true rock track should have including great lyrics and vocal performance. Your fan BigPete and good luck but you're already a winner.
You know i aint really into rock that much...but honestly i actually feeling it. Great vocals, good guitar melody and great drumming. wow if u did everything in this track it shows you've got talent.hope u get that producer as this is brilliant.
Thank you for the awesome review. It is very kind coming from someone that does not listen to this genre. I am very glad you enjoyed it and I will check out your tracks very soon,
classic Sob Story, trademark vocal performance full of emotion, great Seattle sound of the rock arrangments, great structure and build up, I'm a fan and you know, and a guitar solo. no keys in the track? I love what you do in keyboard arrangments. Peace Love and Freedom to scream.
Hi Sob, thanks for the mail about this track. I like the song! I have always been a fan of songwriters/musicians (Real instruments) if you get my drift. So this ticks all of the boxes. Sweet playing/arrangement and clear production helps the vocals sit just right... 10/10...
Thanks for the kind review. Your sax loop fits this sound perfectly. I can't wait to use more of your loops. I am doing a track now that has your harmonica loops with a Stones feel. I will let you know when it is done.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my rock tune....so I wanted to return the favor and check your tunes out as well. I like the guitar sounds in this one as they are nice and clear.
Of course your vocals are very good as well. Has a slight rough edge to them, but I suppose it depends on the song your doing. Anyways, a very nice job on this song and hope you'll make many mor. Randy
I like the dark side of the bright side...And I especially like real emotive dimensional aspects..so much of today's media is cookie cutter mentality...So you've got a new fan here..plus the songs description is way cool! lol...you've achieved a good tonal bridge between the guitar and vocals, very complimentary...another gutsy performance with real merit..viva MrSob!..cheers planet
Wow...thanks for your support. I am amazed by everyone here and how people are coming together on looperman to make tracks without all of the genre prejudice that you might find on other sites...at least I hope that is the case, I am new and have only seen the positive side of looperman.
Hey MrSob..always nice to find some natural music with soul and played with conviction..rolls along very well..I do like your voice,a hard gritty exterior with plenty of presence..you don't pick those up twiddling your thumbs...methinks you've been around the block once or twice...cool work!..enjoyed it thoroughly...cheers planet
Thanks for the review. Yes I have been around the block once or twice. But looperman is all new to me and I am really liking the process and the people that are here.
this is a great track. you know who it reminds me of? dave matthews band. great composition. the drums are simple and dont overpower anything. i lot of feeling went into this i can tell. if only everyone put their heart and soul into their music as you seem to in this tune. i dont really have anything negative or constructive to say as you seem to have this down. keep it up! =]
Thank you so much, I like Dave Mathews so thanks for the comparison. I think I sang the song in about 6 or 7 takes and settled on this one, I also had a version with a double track that was okay. Thank you again for your kind review.
This song really has a lot of power, and your vocals really seal the deal! The song kinda makes me sad, and from your lyrics, it seems like this was intentional. I really like the orchestration and arrangement on this track. You have much talent! Keep it up!
Thank you for taking the time to review my track. I'm glad that you liked it. I call myself/Band Sob Story because I can't write happy songs, I have tried. I was once a serious addict so I can write about what I know. Thanks for all your kind words!
Cheers for the review buddy! a new track woo! Me and you need to do some acoustic stuff with this voice! I will have a go at making some catchy on my acoutic this week if you like? another wicked song man
Hey, Thanks. I would love to try and do some stuff together. I do think your voice shined on your acoustic track. But if you want to collaborate I would be honored.
YESSS A NEW TRACK, first thanks for the review on The Traveller, coming from my favorite singer songwriter performer right now, first again please be don't be offended but this sounds a lot like the band Live and again thats good for me because again this is a band I respect a lot met them twice and they are genuine people, and your vocal performance again steels the show, your delivery is gut wrenching, the lyrics are pure poetry again, I don't know what they put in the water in Seatle but people their are great poets , from Hendrix to Cobain and even the ones who are still alive, lol, you don't have to die young to be a artistic genius and I get that vibe from what you do, I am a true fan and I wish you had some record deal or distribution deal because someone like you deserve to be out there. I truly mean this, to much crap gets tossed around by labels when they should be putting efforts in artist like you who has something to say knows how to package it in very accesible form, your tracks have a very pop sensetivity to them, girls will like your music because of that, and I know what girls like, lol. Anyway your a great artist, thanks for the second track now waiting for the third, lol.
Man...Its hard to know what to say to a review like this. I am honored that you feel so strongly about my tracks. I have been doing stuff for years with bands and solo stuff. I was kinda stuck in a box for awhile thinking I had to please everyone...now I just doing anything in any style and just having fun. I found this site and I am really inspired to make music and collaborate with people. You, and everyone else are making me feel very welcome. I can't wait to upload more and work with others. Thanks for your support.
Martin, loving your songs man, this is so good man, your lyrics are beautiful and deep...I wish could write lyrics..Slap's solo sounds perfect over the chords, sounds a little Stones like when the tune comes back in after the sax..another fave for me! thanks for sharing your artistry with everyone!
victormusic01x..in the nyC listening to real songs!
Thanks allot. It is funny the you mentioned the Stones because I am working a track with a very strong Stones feel right now using a Keith Richards tuning (Open G) on my Telecaster and some Harmonica loops by SlapJohnson. I hope you like that on as well.
This is the real deal! Real instruments being played by a real musician.Real vocals with original lyrics and a true gritty quality... Your production is just right for this song (flawless). So 10/10 from me....
Thank you, That means allot coming from you. I am new to looperman and your loops stand out as the top of the top. I have been listening to your loops now for a few days and I am very excited about using them on upcoming tracks. Can I contact you about an Alto solo I need? Im looking for a short Bowie type solo between an F and G chord rotation at about 70 bpm...any ideas?

Got my vote for the category - what else to say? I'm listening to this 12 miles east of Aberdeen and it feels like indigenous music to me!
