I couldn't tell from your track description if you've updated it (eg in the last two weeks) and I'm not sure if I'm hearing anything other than before when I reviewed it.
So, it's a rare review from me as I don't have much more to add on previous reviews. But I think it's worth saying that, a couple of months later, it still sounds great to me. I'd be very interested to know how people's views might change/progress over time listening to my music. I'm sure that would happen quite a bit. Maybe it does with most music.
But for that to happen, I'd have to get round to releasing some goddamn material as I have so much of it. Probably about 12-14 albums now.

I have no idea what 'dubstairs' is. No doubt just your little dubstep joke, which I like. Probably more than I like most dubstep, though I'm talking more about the type of harsh, growling dubstep people obsess over. You know the kind - no actual dub in there. Original dubstep, which is just a wobbling progression of dub, is actually pretty cool.
But this sort of unmusical, effects-obsessed, histrionic stuff that's always brickwall mastered I find pretty damn horrible.
You can hear some dubstep-style bass wobbling (LFO automation) in my track A Little Bit Of Infinity but it's a very musical piece rather than just someone wobbling away because they have no other, more musical elements to add.
Anyway, yes I can see the track was built around the bass. That's quite common and how I also often work. No, "cute" synth seems pretty good. But go ahead and modify it or switch it out for another if you think you can do better. If you think you can do better, you probably can.
Yes, sub time is good. I'd like to get more sub stuff into my music but it can be tricky. I think it might work best if you leave things sparser on top of the sub. So, maybe have sub and then higher frequency stuff so not much midrange. Just a theory - I'm not a technical sound guy whatsoever.
I'd prefer to hear you do something with fat grooves that isn't just a club track (I know you can). I tend to find that more musical and interesting. Club tracks have to be very good for me not to be bored. I wasn't bored with this one (I prefer Klokwerk) but I'd probably rather the elements were used as a fat groove 80-110 BPM thing. Just my preference.
Hey, this is pretty cool! Definitely has a dubstep edge, even with it's "full time" rhythms. Anymore, I can take or leave dubstep, but hearing elements of the style used in a creative way is generally enjoyable. I'm not sure what you meant by the "blocky noises"... It's hard to tell why you would experience this on looperman only with your songs. It's possible that there is minor clipping and looperman's streaming method is more sensitive to this??? don't know. Very much a club sort of feel to this, and while I've never been a clubber, I can appreciate the vibes... after all I have been a high roller at times. The last section is quite potent. How's the hardware transition going? Good song man!

First synths are quite compelling and almost "cute". Bassline is strong and gets filtered a bit later to become prominent. Drums are dry and tight. No criticism of them
1:00 and it's sub time! Lead synth gets much cooler. The little effected bits just before the start of the new bar are especially cool.
Drumless breakdown and then the rise back into same as before, with added percussion to move things forward a bit.
2:28 and it's getting more dubsteppy. People love that kind of stuff.
Not that uch new stuff after that for me to comment on (apart from some strings). But it's decent dance stuff that will definitely get people moving. I wouldn't actively listen to it at home but I'd be happy for it to be playing.

I'm glad you like it (even if you don't love it). From what I remember the bassline was the first thing I made, building everything else around it, so I guess it's the star of the show. I'm starting to feel the "cute" synth doesn't quite fit in, it's one of very few digital synths in their so maybe that's why?
at 1:00 (sub time!) I pulled that off a lot better than I expected. It's not even that good but I use to struggle a lot with kicks and subs so I wasn't expecting much from myself when it came to that part. Someone said I "need more work from the percussion side of things" yet you don't seem to have a problem with them so hopefully it's just a personal taste thing.
and yeah 2:28 was originally going to be my master plan in turning the track into dubsteps/dubstairs but I scratched that idea coz it's silly.

My work is largely about groove so getting bass and drums tight can take a while. And getting them really good allows me to play other instruments much better off them. If the groove is cool, it inspires much better playing whereas if things are too messy, the guitar playing, for instance, can seem to clash with the bass and drums foundation.

No problem. I pretty much do the same for everyone one I review on here. If I like something, I see it as my duty to explain why rather than just single or double sentence nice track bro-ing. Way too much of that round here. If somethings good, I think of the amount of time and care someone has spent on it and try to recognise that and point out the good details, as well as the bad/could be better.
I always tend to think that its pretty irrelevant if some anonymous person on the internet just says they like your track whereas that same anonymous person giving such actual detail about different sections can be quite valuable. And when you know a commenters music, it can be quite interesting to see what they liked or didnt like.

Every song starts off as a single phrase and once I've got something awesome I can then work out what I need to do to get to it in a way that shows it off as much as possible. Once that's over I then have to figure out a way to do it again but with even more impact than the first time, so for example I did that on this track by adding strings.
I've realized this isn't the best way of working so I'm trying to figure out better ways of doing that. The song i'm working on now for example very subtly evolves. While it may seem repetitive, if you skipped back and forth between the start and end you'd find the song has changed more than you may have thought.
Also, I must admit I've done the nice track bro thing quite a bit. I try to justify it by saying that I don't think i'm a good enough producer to be handing out advice but that's just a bullshit excuse, I need to stop being lazy. :/

Sounds pretty cool to me. Do you care to explain how you are recording these objects you put together? I'm listening in headphones, so keep that in mind... It seems like the bass is a bit in the background in the heavier parts of the tracks, though maybe it's totally intentional. I liked the vocal bits very much, and I'm thinking they could be a bit more prominent as well. Overall I really enjoyed the song, in fact it's probably one of my faves as far as house tunes go. You have your own style, and I respect that!
Thanks. To be honest I need better recording equipment. I have a little AKG condenser mic and I just put it in an acoustic-treated box with whatever i'm recording. The quality isn't great but I just EQ as much or as little as I feel is necessary. Also, everything I do IS intentional but that doesn't necessarily mean I made the right decision. I have two bass lines running so I duplicated one and panned the duplicates slightly left and right to widen it and keep it away from the other bass line (which made it feel further away). I personally don't mind it but if it sounds weird i'll see if I can work out something else. Anyway thanks again for your comment and input on the forum and i'm glad you enjoyed the song! :)
