I like it.. I don't know the genre well enough to compare it, however I do know music lol. I do believe however these forums are meant for constructive criticism and we don't put our music on here just to get a pat on the back. I don't know about you but I put it on here because I want fellow producers and engineers to shred my work to pieces and help me put it back together, otherwise we keep making the same mistakes. With that being said, I wanted more from it. As Joe stated, I was definitely disappointed that there was not a second build up to a major finale, especially because your first transition felt somewhat weak.. It kind of sounded like you automated a limiter to push/limit everything up for the transition then clipped it back down. There also wasn't much in way of transition as well as pushing or pulling me.. If I would not have had the visual wave of the song I would've been expecting way more from it especially because of that deep bass.. it's like you're teasing us lol. Great mix, great master, just need some arrangement work and definitely look into different ways to transition and pick a couple and just start playing with it until you find what you like. A lot of times something as simple as a reverse cymbal every 16 bars can create a huge impact. Good luck, and please don't stop working, there's lots of talent there.
Thanks for listening and leaving a comment. There's no limiter, compression or any added effects on this save for any effects that the loops I used already had. I like to have a clear mix and not rely too much tech.
I simply used Audacity to pull everything together, since I want to use this mix for a longer dance song. I also tend to work from the perspective of both the engineer and the listener, and I enjoy putting together catchy melodies.
I've been mixing since the days of analog, and just like music, mixing and mastering can be subjective, so I will occasionally bend the rules or stick to 'em.
Hi, your tracks are seriously fantastic, this track is amazing! I love this one a lot, got me moving! I certainly admire and respect your work put into your music and it showcases your high level of talent. Keep up the awesome work.
Hi wikkid, this is so on point! and I have to say you are truly representing the female music makers here, a most riveting and beautiful! track here, love the vocals on this track. Excellent work indeed.
Thanks so much for taking the time to listen and for your comment. I love your vocals! Your song "Gave You All of Me" is one of my faves. Great work on the lead vocal and background vocals. I look forward to hearing more of your songs.
Thanks so much for listening and commenting. Yeah, I've got a weak spot for deep bass. Tried to find just the right vocal snippets to work with this. I went thru quite a few before I found the ones that I thought worked.
at the 35 seconds mark is a prince like a rasberry beret drum sound. I agree that the end does become repetitive. This is where you can layer on and make it interesting. Overall I enjoyed the sounds. Cru
Thanks for listening and leaving a comment. Nothing has come to me yet regarding the end (except background vocals) so I might just have it go into another song on the EP I'm working on.
Funky track you got here, not to familar with dub, but i have to say this one is nice!!had to listen to it and get the feel of it and sing to it, i wouldn't have a clue of how to do this type of music, but luckly your gifted at it and i can say, this is very professional work, Larry
Thanks for listening and leaving a comment. I couldn't do dubstep without putting some funk or R&B in it :)
Vocals along the lines of Rihanna's "Umbrella" work with this type of song ella, ella, ella, ella :) It's the placement that is key, so a lead vocal would drop in for a few and then leave so that the music and vox samples take over. But more gospel influenced R&B vocals could work also.
Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and leave a comment. Whenever the inspiration hits me I will revisit the groove after 1:29. Hopefully it won't be too long before a spark ignites, and I go YES! This is what it needs!

Very interesting. That change at 0:48 caught me off guard. One thing is that I feel it gets a little repetitive from 1:29 on. Still cool though.

I like the R&B vibes you have man, real smoooth. The synth and dubstep growls aren't for me though. The 2nd part with the dark dubstep is cool
