Hi. I'm a huge fan of the Dogman album that this track comes from. The original Black The Sky track is amazing. I'm a little surprised you found the bass and guitar tracks online. How does that work?
I agree with Mahloo that you've been thrown off the groove a bit in places here (eg 3:16-3:21) though the double kicks sound pretty good and I love the sound of your toms.
I really like the sound of that snare and the toms are delightful, mind sharing the mic choices for the toms and snare?
The backing track definitely is made for some drum solo stuff and I'm glad you've seen that potential in the track and jumped on it.
I can however hear some timing issues, you've concentrated to much on the double kick and it threw you off the groove in some sections. This is the actual King's X track and it's quite an amazing rock song, their best if you'd ask me.
...oh man that snare....I kept pressing play and play and play for that snare. Rock sound all the way...better than the original one.
Hey Budman...some crazy stuff here mate(the Vigman's natural habitat!)..nothing but nothing beats real drums and natural percussives....just about all contemporary music is software or machine made and pretty much sucks compared to the real McCoy ..I hope you've been procreating like crazy man,the world needs plenty more Buddrummings! cheers Dave ;)
Hey Bud..Damn man I'm sitting inside the bass drum tripping almost!...reminicent of the more melodic offering from Captain Beefheart..Jeez mate, you can really get inside this music or it gets inside you...totally in your face but from the vibration and offbeat side of things...very much "Head" music..back in the day I'd be toked up while listening to this and say "yeah put that back on for sure!" lol..love this stuff, major thumbs up to Scott,Chris and yourself...cheers Dave
Hey bro....It was a blast having a Latin jam with some of the best musicians I know. A real latin experience with a trainload of groove ! Thanks for inviting me in the colab - Bilbozo
What a nice tune, loved the oriental touch. Again I find a lack of words, excellent is what comes to mind. Fantastic voice, well mixed and I really, really like the sound of the drums. /pmk
This might sound ridiculous but my english doesn't have the words to discribe just how impressed I am of this track. Congraulations to an amazing tune diMeola, santana style. Inspirational. And it sounds like you had a blast putting it together. /pmk

Which (excellent) snare are you using on this?

Absolutely outstanding work by all involved here....
All of the instrumentation is perfection, the mix is flawless, just a terrific listen. One of the best "sunsets" I've heard in a long time.
