The vocals are rubbing this track wrong. They seem like they would work, but the timing is off or something. They could also use some reverb.
I would try writing the vocal melody with a keyboard to get the notes, then sing to the keyboard line. Sounds like you're not sure of what notes you're doing, or it was not really "written" or planned, besides the lyrics, which are fine.
This is just my thoughts on it. I like what you have going and I hear what you're going for, but the vocals just need some work.
Looking forward to hearing this when it's further along.
