Description : I put this together quickly - Ad-lib lyrics. A memory. 7 Years ago.

This is a first draft - will probably get back to it later and tweak. I would love to put some lush strings in here.

Hope you enjoy. Let me know your thoughts.

LYRICS:

i guess i could have been braver
and taken your hand
down to the bus stop
through the sand

in my shoe
(it was you)

looking back now
i see
but it's too late for me

i guess i could have been braver
i could have let go
the autumn and springtime
the sun and the snow

i'm waiting for you now
to come to a halt
feels like you've been running forever
and it feels like it's my fault

like i'm to blame
blame
carry the shame
alone

i guess i could have been braver
and kissed you on the mouth
i guess i could have been stronger
and let it out

i'm telling you now
i want you again
that summer or springtime
was...
but winter or autumn is
buried within

Description : new muse... new track. tempting, and being tempted. Used some fabulous beats and string loops off here in this... the rest is all me.

I will let this one speak for itself.
tnx mv

Description : ... fall into the arms of my beloved. fire...

A bit of a hip-hop beat in a pop song. Thanks to the beautiful poetry of William Stringer (Radio_Dance) from Northern Ireland, without which I could not have brought this to life.

Less instrumentation than my other tracks... just the faithful keys and some vocal synths.

Description : A little while ago I loaded an acapella called "In My Hands". It started off as a short poem, then became an acapella - so I decided to use it in a full song. I also would have liked to sort the track under ethnic (as genre) as I used a lot of African Male choir clips in the track. Some brass, which I hardly use, gives the track a "marching band" feel. Also used some awesome loops from PLANETJAZZBASS! I owe such a great debt to him! His stuff is stunning!

In a nut-shell, I personally LOVE this track - I had so much fun putting it all together, and it's a real labour of love... about love.

Also... there a guy explaing quantum physics in there aswell... kinda "play on word" that you shouldn't have to be a rocket scientist to be able to figure out love... although it helps!

Enjoy the track... and as always...all reviews welcomed.

Description : Very dark. Gothic even... I filed this under cinematic, as I am not really sure what to file it as. I just now this song is sad, mysterious and angry...
Hope you enjoy the 'place' it takes you.

Description : me and the piano. a song about loss.
for H.S

Tags : | Pop | 4.62 MB

Description : This was done in two hours and I have a cold! No... I am not making elaborate excuses... merely stating the facts.

I see this track, in some way, as the sequel to "Perfect", as it's on the same subject matter (ie. written for/about the same person)

It's not as elaborate as my other tracks, although I wanted to give it a 'continental' feel by adding the accordian and the the ambient crowd sounds towards the end.

Anyhoot, here you go. Any and ALL reviews appreciated and welcomed.

Description : A love song. Being there first. This song, to me, is more than the sum of it's parts. This is as good as I can get it. Hope you like, and any and all comments/crit welcomed.

Description : As you can tell by the title, I did this song in September (2009). It was inspired by a status update on facebook.
"waiting in the apple blossoms" It conjured up such a pretty picture, that this little song along and joined me.

Just me and my girl (piano).

Tags : | Pop | 3.52 MB

Description : Another pop song - a modern fairytale, with the wolf in sheep's clothing. A little bit of a different vocal effect - some lo-fi vibes.

As always, the "tinkly bits in the middle" with an orgel / musicbox. Hope you like!

"in this dream of make-belief"

Tags : | Ethnic | 1.46 MB

Description : this is a short track in my native language (afrikaans). It's a poem written by a poet I admire very much - named Elmari Venter.
It's about healing, and wanting to heal someone.

I hope the sound in the music can convey some sense of what the words are about.

Please let me know if you'd like the translation of the lyrics.
Enjoy!

Description : This is what happens if you grow up listening to pop music in the 90's! It's another one of my 1 evening/1morning tracks... It's easier to say things in song than in person.
You make it right, you make it bright... you make me light :)
Enjoy, and look forward to the reviews.

Tags : | Rock | 6.09 MB

Description : This is a "rock/pop" song I did a while ago. The title is a bit boring, but I wanted to emphasize that this was written with someone very specific in mind. Someone very special.... *smile*

MLK also makes an appearance somewhere in the middle, from his " I have a dream" speech.

Hope you like!

Description : This song is an homage to a forgotten time - it's dark, medieval, melodic and epic. The theme is a crusade... the templars, the East... warriors, poets and thieves.
I used an array of instruments : cello, timpani, xylophone, dulcimer, steel guitar, piano.

Lyrics:
We traveled for seven days
You told me you knew the way
You promised wed save the day
But still, we failed

We followed the stars for weeks
And I couldnt feel my feet
And after the longest time
We arrived
We arrived

I am not your armor
I am not the sword by your side
Im the endless ocean
Bringing the changing tide
Shining the guiding light
Raising the flags up high

We traveled for many years
We gave up our greatest fears
All the tears
Wash away

I am not your armor
I am not the sword in your hand
Im the wind in the trees
And the life in the sand
Shining the light
Raising the flag

Look forward to your reviews. Thanks for listening!

Description : This is a very symphonic, cinematic track. A slightly operatic vocal and a simple message:

Arise and lay down
Your arms
Tonight
Lay down
Your arms
Tonight
Watch the moon rise
On the horizon
Tonight
Lay down your arms

Description : this song was done... literally... in less than one hour and in one take. it's a little mean. i enjoyed doing it though. everyone knows a girl who's "perfect"... but slightly vacant.

Tags : | Fusion | 3.44 MB

Description : Again, I am never sure in which genre to class my tracks. This is more of a pop tune, but since there is no option for pop I classed it as "fusion" seeing as there are elements of classical instrumentation in this track.
(french horns, flure, violin, etc)

The lyrics are from the Facebook status of an old friend of mine... who incidentally happens to be a poet.

Tags : | Chill Out | 3.71 MB

Description : This was done in less than 3 hours - very quickly. I gave the vocals a little bit of a jazzy treatment and spooky echo/reverb keys. I used the Deep Table beat off looperman.com and found it "rides" gently and works well with the theme. Ad-lib vocals... like fireflies in the night... came to this tune.

scarlett, is the colour of my love
for you, and all you are
scarlett, is the colour of the sun
going down, over oceans
far awar

dream a little dream
about a little thing
scarlett is the colour
of love

Tags : | Cinematic | 4.25 MB

Description : Genre: Electronic, Ambient, Chill... I never know how to pinpoint the genre in my tunes! This is a bit of a fun song - heavy beat, bass lines, strings, some spoken word from Aleister Crowley (look him up!)... the works. Loads of loops off here... so thanks to all who contributed to this track. I used "Breathing Beat, Junebug 1 & 2) I enjoyed putting it together and making it. Think of it as an homage to vampire and ghouls and all sorts of magical creatures sitting around the table at a fabulous banquet hall!

Tags : | Chill Out | 6.45 MB

Description : this is my first venture into this genre... therefore not even really sure if it falls under the "chill out" genre. anyways, i samples a little bit of vocals off looperman and some beats... the rest is all me. hope you like!

Tags : | Ethnic | 1.71 MB

Description : I used a free Native American chant (Sioux War Dance) I got off the internet as the backing / percussive back track.
The lyrics come from an ad-lib I did over the music, and was recorded in one take! (you can tell, can't you!)
Someone asked me how I came up with the name for this song, and I couldn't tell them it's from closing my eyes and imagining this huge mountain and the red sun setting behind it... (Lame!) Any crit is welcomed. This is my first track upload!
