Description : I'm becoming quite a fan of Nate's. found this on Youtube, and it led me back here. Nate's Pella over a rock backing. Key is G, tempo 140. The two guitar sounds were inspired by the Edge and Alex Lifeson. The great delivery by Nate was very rhythmic, so I spent the most time between the interplay of the vocals and percussion. Amp Models are Blackface and Vox AC. Hope you approve, The Goose!
Description : So, being a greedy guy, I saw Nuada Macnechtan post a collab with my pal BrokenScythe, and I just had to get my hands on it!
This is the "my end" mix, with the older Vocal (not as powerful as his take on it) but brilliantly done none the less. I tried to highlight it's powerful lilting, Vulnerable quality. Part of my plan was to accentuate the upbeats, with synth sax, piano roll "tubes", Two acoustic and one electric guitar tracks, and some reverse cymbal to bring out the reverse reverb of the vocal. The Piano-Roll Bass was a MoFo to program but I think it works. Key is Amin Pentatonic, tempo is 85. Drums are Mixcraft, Guitars tuned to D.

Description : This track was written around Hektor Thillet's "Ba-Boom" acapella. It's very spontaneous and unfiltered, Thanks to the wine he'd drank. I thought this would sound best as a "Faux Live" track, and Jazz always sounds best on vinyl.. So, Here is Hektor Thillet and the All-stars (not really) live at the Hollywood bowl on (a Fake) Vinyl 45.
Many of the backing loops, with the exception of two are from Mixcraft. I play three guitar tracks (out of five)
Chords are Amin, Dmin7 add9, Fmin7th and Emin7th. Tempo is 120. This is my first stab at jazz/swing/big band, so be brutally honest. I also have this without vocals if someone wants a piece or wants to collab.

Lite rock drums (acoustic sampled) Cuban Congas, Mexican Mariachi horns, Synth Bass, Live trance style bass, Seven string heavy rock guitar (live) and a touch of S7M whips. Sonds like: N.I.N + Devo+ Gloria Estefan+ Spanish Bolero. add them up, and according to my wife, it sounds like Adam Lambert on American Idol. Lolz.
Tempo is 135, Key of Dflat Minor. Advice is appreciated.
The Bass has been Pumped up, and the drums are brighter and warmer I hope, thanks to tube EQ.

Description : this incredible acapella by Mhyst really grabbed a hold of me. This track has it's melody already written. It's sampled acoustic drums, Piano roll Piano, Bass and strings. Two live guitar tracks. One through the clean channel of a Marshall, the other the gain side.
I tried to accentuate an already great piece, to be more of a backing band. Tempo is 140/70 in C. I was going for a radio-friendly sugary pop ballad. I'm up for collabs or a remix by a real engineer. Be honest, I can take it!

This is a rough outline of how I heard the song in my head. Old fashioned prom-style rock ballad. Three live guitar tracks, bass, acoustic drums (that still need a lot of tweaking) synth cellos and piano roll. His tight harmonies dictated some complicated chords, and his delivery needed to stand out and lead the song.
I would really like a collab with this, better drums, a real bass
player, and of course an engineer.

Drums are Mixcraft, scratcher and congas from a loop pack, guitars are all me. Holly provides the pella, bass line is a piano roll type instrument track. I thought I'd get back to playing my guitar, It was supposed to be Santana-esque, but some Satriani came out..lolz.. (edit* I took some guitar out, it was monotonous and self indulgent..)
It's still rough (three days old) and syncing Holly's 'pella is not as easy as I thought. it took some phrasing changes.
