Description : The other day, I saw a video of a comedy rock band called Axis of Awesome. They managed to sing countless pop hits with four chords. As I was listening, Put Out The Fire popped into my head.

Needless to say, I turned into a bearded zombie before my computer work station afterwards. It was fun, though. I really enjoyed making this one. I learned a lot on mixing, mastering and such. If only I could make money with my songs, I'd be set.

The song's theme deals with a man who is longing for his sweetheart who well . . . I think I should let the listeners apply it to their own lives and feelings. That's what music is all about right?

As for technicals:

FL Studio 10 is my sweetheart. She keeps me happy everytime I get musical ideas.

Plugins used were as follows:

Boo Bass
Steinway Grand for chord bass
My Guitar
Omnisphere Strings of various timbres

and gobs of vocal tracks of none other than me! How I'd love to perform this one with some back up singers. It would be such a rush!

Description : The Difference was geared toward a dance floor - hopefully a song that wasn't designed to sell drinks, but to cause the dance floor to get slippery with sweat. But head banging only goes so far. So, I had to add some theatrical elements into the song with a few beat pauses. During those pauses I needed the beat to go on, as they say. So, I added other elements I think work well.

I used FL Studio 10 to create The Difference. Omnisphere has become my friend. And Drumaxx is rocking me outta my head! I might point out Drumaxx ain't a beat machine/drum machine. You have complete control over what is played. It can be edited to your liking like I've done here.

Mastering is a different story. Izotope 4 is another ally in my work. But sometimes getting the right sound is like trying to pick the power ball numbers. There are so many possible combinations of tweaks, getting the right ones is like playing powerball for the winning numbers.

What about mastering? Is there anyone out there that can give some advice? I try to review everyone who reviews me. So, you get what you give. Thanks

Description : A neighbor of mine recently passed away unexpectedly. And as I reflected seeing her standing in her garden in front of her house, this song came to my mind. Her daughter found her and has blamed herself for not finding her sooner. Thus the reason there is no reason for any blame (lyrics). I have this song available for download for folks who appreciate folks like me making heart felt music. I hope you check my website.

At the time of the writing of this song, I felt really low given I never got feedback from friends or family regarding my music. I'm unemployed right now. And music is my escape. It is my sanctuary of sorts. This is what brought me to write the part about my dreams leaving me again. I bet there are a lot of musicians and artists out there who can understand that one.

I also attempted to arrange a Pop Version of this song. But got tangled up in VST's and this or that. I'm still planning one. Even have plans for a dance version when time permits. But the dance thing, I might have to get someone to help me with that one! :)

Description : This started out as a whimsical dream. But after some work, I decided to add it as a download on my website. I would like some advice on how to make it better if I may. I am open to others' ideas on embellishments/mixing/ etc. If you have an opinion. It is a work in progress. And the creation process is so fun.
