Description : This is different than the metal I usually do. It involves jazz, some dance beats,and a mash of other things. It is all about excess and trying to be a "fancy pants." It's completely opposite of my personality which is why it was fun to do. I had one of my sons in mind when I put it together. Hopefully it is just fun. A loop was graciously borrowed from Coney Island Records and great jazz flute loops from Slap Johnson.
Description : Wanted to try the cinematic genre. Used Ansel Adam's "Winter Sunrise, Sierra Nevada, 1944" as an inspiration. Great b&w photo of the mountains. Description : A metal/electronic combination with some symphonic thrown in. It has an electronic intro and then the metal kicks in. I tried to create an image from the future of a dark stone cathedral built on a faraway planet where the traditions of the church are maintained despite being far from Earth. Those who walk inside face a daily crisis of maintaining faith on a mechanized and metallic planet. While the piece is dark, I tried to end on a note of optimism. I used loops from the following looperman artists whom I respect greatly: Planetjazzbass, Duce132, ProfPlum, DJ4Real, Funkee78, and Louis Cypher. Thanks for the inspiration.
Description : The song starts off with a loop from DJSebastyan (thanks!) and the metal kicks in after the introduction. I wanted to do a song that used metal and electronic sounds and this is what I came up with. I wanted people to expect the unexpected. Pebble in the Sky refers to a sci fi story that I hope I captured here. The metal sounds are from Ultimate Metal Construction and the electronic sounds from various Acid libraries. Part III: Under the close supervision of Gaal Dornick in the primitive shelters just constructed on the planet Terminus, the psychohistorians begin frantic work on Hari Seldon's pet project that had begun before they were banished from Trantor- the Encyclopedia Galactica. As they worked desperately to collect the wisdom of the Galactic Empire before its predicted collapse, every scholar on Terminus knew that each entry had the hope of shortening the Dark Ages that would follow. The exiled psychohistorians from Trantor begin their final approach to the barren planet Terminus with a sense of apprehension, awe, and spiritual beginnings. I began with electronic sounds leading to a metal sound that provides a background to sci fi melodies. I used Acid Music Studio and some loops from this site.
Description : This is an early experimentation with metal loops from this site. I have two cats who helped me out with this one. One is mellow and social and the other is hyperactive and bounces all over the place. I tried to capture both in this song. It was a song I just did for the fun of it and for my kids entertainment. My kids find it an accurate musical descriptor of our two cats. Enjoy.
Description : I just finished reading Asimov's Foundation and wanted to create a song that reflected the dicotomy of the planet Trantor. This planet is encased in hard metal yet has its own strange and metallic beauty. I mixed the metal sounds (from Sony's Metal Construction Kit) and piano and string sounds from loops on this site to reflect this. Thanks to those who take the time to create loops for the rest of us to be creative with.
