Description : I wrote this with wanting to capture two completely different genres in one song, and somehow infuse the two at the end. It just happened to work that jazz and hip hop were the two that came to be, and given New York's rich history in both, I based this song on what it might be like if 1930's 52nd Street met the 1970's Bronx and they decided to collaborate. Keep in mind, I threw in some of my own flavor, but I think this may be what it might have sounded like. Now if I could only make a time machine to see if I was right... Description : A few samples and the rest homemade .... titled because the song makes me think of kids roughhousing and laughing as they walk past me on the street.
Description : The pad melody was played on a combination of 3 subtractor synths,3 malstroms and a mixer . Combined each gear into one common combinator and programmed the rotaries to control tightness, frequency, reverb and delay. Bass lines was created layering subtractors, malstroms ,which was EQed and added scream kits for warmth. Automation of the synths created movement of the bass. The layered synths was then exported and imported to the NN19 for the final basslines in the track. Comments welcome on all aspects and feel free to criticize. I used Reason 3 and Audacity to chop up beats.
