Description : Final Draft (?) - Recorded in two sets with Ableton Live 7 LE. Ten tracks and 120 clips consolidated into 6 and then rerecorded while playing to the urban sound effects.
jahknow sent me some loops a few months ago, and I've come back to them again and again without any satisfaction. In rethinking my approach, I've got something that's now becoming interesting.
An Ecstatic Anthem for an imaginary Hashishim - This is all about being joyful in acts of creative destruction.
Loops from jahknow, rei4real, ultrabase, DJatro, and DanWilson - so there's a couple of victims here that are new.
If you listen closely, there's a sonic narrative happening behind this all. The ravens and crows are a symbolic intervention, as the old term for a flock was "a murder." Resolution and meaning making lies with the audience.

Description : This is the next track in the new Planets series, using the NASA recordings. Like the others, this one has recordings of Earth taken from the Voyager space probe. I called it 'The Lonely Planet' because (so far) it's the only one that has so much activity and life. And it's a noisey place, even from outer space. Lots of whirs and swooshes and moans and beeps. If you listen closely in the beginning, you can hear what sounds like three ticks, like someone hitting a wood block. That is not a man-made sound. It's something in our sonic frequency. Anyhoo. Me on acoustic guitar, also some strings. There's a video for it on YouTube, too. Just search "Cyryus" or the song title.

Description : This is a real funky track. I just love this genre. I love the rhythms,grooves,licks & phrases you can apply, and I forgot to mention the solos. Since I was a child, watching all of these cool cop tv shows(mainly American ones), I loved the music. Wah guitar and funky bass lines, married with super drums and uber cool solos. It's called school bully, because I'm sticking two fingers up at those sad little boys that made Alexander's life hell this time last year. We had to move him out of that school, and he never really settled into his new school. But, now he is going to a music school, he is feeling a whole lot better about being a musician... Description : Get your flares on baby and jump in Slap's pimp mobile for some funky fresh sounds. I'm sticking with this genre for a while, it's so infectious... All instruments Slap, drums sonic foundry. I've use a talk box effect on one of the guitar tracks, and added a wah to the bass (first time I've done that, it won't be the last as I think it helps the songs style). Solo 1 is my son Alexander on alto sax & solo 2 me on alto. The songs called Yeah right, because that's how I felt when I finished it. Yeah Right!!

They also would rather do dirty deeds to (lie,cheat ect) Than walk the right path.. Verse..How many more times,how many more lies spat at our faces.you wheel and deal,cheat and steal won't win the races.I turn my back,try to protect the love that's left,you want that too, the greed you show despises you.Chorus.You'll always learn the hard way, you have to have the last say,stop living day to day, the future's what you make it,get out there and take it.. 10 piece horn section, including a clarinet high up to add a sparkle. Description : This is a rock ballad. I know I was concentrating on Ska, but this chord progression just happened, so I decided to keep adding to it. I'm glad I did. The song has a lot of heart and soul. Classic love lost lyric, with a Les paul guitar solo, followed by a soprano sax (you don't hear those in your average rock ballad). This track features Planet on jazz bass and Bilbozo on guitar and hammond organ.The song has a total of 24 individual tracks (nine piece horn section,mutiple rhythm and lead guitar tracks using various effects,percussion,cymbals, 4 vocals ect). I just love the way the track knits together with Dave & Bill's parts just slotting straight in. The track is 6mins in length, which is long for me, I normally have things finished at around the 3-4 minute mark, but this track just came out like that, so I hope you dig the arrangement. I have to thank Dave & Bill for their input into this song, and for wanting to get involved in the GSN project. Please feel free to comment on any aspect of the track.
