Description : This mellow beat-driven piece utilizes the vocals of Michael Conner in a smokey lounge-style jazz contemplation; the piano has the oddly chipper tones which were more thoroughly evident in my earlier works but were gradually replaced with more bizarre tones of throat singing, reversed & reverbed vaccuums, etc. Overall, this song seems like a springboard of sorts to me.

Description : If you heard "Into The Depths", you may recognize this little skit. The vocals are taken from one of those "new" records that demonstrate the cutting edge technology called "Stereo" that emerged in the late 1950's. I cut the vocals up because they would apparently not fit in time with the track when I wanted to drop the beat out or bring it back in. Once I had my pieces of vocals from the skit separated, I began the arrangement. With a little patience, this track amusingly surfaced. I also took one piano note from an old jazz record and note-mapped it on my MPC 2000 to simulate a piano player. Voila.

Description : Decades ago during my military service my comrade and I was paddling in a kayak towards an island far away. It was dusk, nearly dark, and weather wasn't so warm but there was no breeze so that moist fog kept gathering all over us. Suddenly from the fog appeared a great passenger ship heading towards Stockholm. They didn't notice us though the ship passed by quite near. I imagined that onboard there were couples in tuxedos and dressing gowns dancing and a band was playing nice music (standard jazz chord progression II-V-I) not knowing that there were two poor bastards on theopen, cold and foggy sea. Probably the reality was quite different. There were no nice music , not to speak about nice and stylish couples with tuxedos and dressing gowns, but drunken ordinary people with their saggy pants and other tasteless garments dancing according to a monotonous beat that some unnamed band was producing..."Hey, wake up, dude, away from this ship route now!
