Description : Dedicated to those willing to participate in popular rebellions, regardless of their size or outcome. With nothing to lose, rebellion is an empowering thing.
Special thanks to Salook. I didn't think completing the Music to have a Rebellion Project could really move towards completion without the sounds of bagpipes incorporated somewhere. Now I can check that requirement off my list! Special thanks to Nuada Macnechtan for doing the introduction vocals for me.
Live recording done on Ableton with the APC40. Lots of dancing with knobs.
Draft 1 - Still in development phases. I'm pretty happy with the sonic narrative that happens in the movements. Maybe a bit too traditional? Intro as past, drum ensemble as carnival uprising present sliding into the hybridity of a future that's always arriving.
Draft 2 - rerecorded incorporating Nuada's vocals.
Final Draft(?) - brought in vocal samples from Deepest India, and some chanting from public domain Morocco field recordings from the 1950's.
Vocals from the exiled Tuareg Poet Hawad's poem, "Anarchy's Delirious Trek."
Loops mostly from people who've deleted their accounts, so I don't know who to give credit to. Got a planetjazzbass one in here, and one from Dusthill, and one from Dj_Fred_Val. Thanks!
Thanks to Nuada for wonderful suggestions during my drafting process.

Description : 'Mysteries' is a track I composed in less than 30 minutes today. I was going thru' some of the photos I had taken in India. One particular photo of ruins of Vijayanagar Dynasty in Karnataka caught my attention. The place is filled with so many mysteries... hence I decided to compose this song and called it 'Mysteries''
Description : There is a place in India, Varanasi, where throngs of Hindus go to die. I imagined what it must be like to take their final journey knowing that they won't return. This song is an homage to those who make the pilgrimage to Varanasi.
Description : Final Unmastered [Draft]
Conceptually this is about embracing both the highs and lows in life, realizing that each is impossible without the other, and the space in between is much richer than the level places without such experience. All loops and live playing are mine except one drum loop by planetjazzbass and the seriously effected santur melody which comes from the Deepest India sample pack. Bass/guitar loops made with DSK BassZ VSTi in a West African style.
Draft 2 - extended the length, and worked on creating the spaces for upcoming ambient additions. This "instrumental" version will probably undergo one more recording session before I attempt to master it.
Final Draft - took it back to under 3 minutes for a "radio version." Lots of tweaking (especially to the accent drums and melody track).
All comments, criticisms, and suggestions welcome.
Description : [Final Draft 2.1]]
Inspired by both the ambient logbook thread and the dub logbook, this is an attempt to get several traditions together and make them dance and roll around in a new and interesting way. The accordion loop and live jam is inspired by the rhythmic accordion playing in Congo. The Punjabi Qawalli `pella comes from the Deep India sounds sample pack which I have purchased to make it official. The Egyptian bass drums and accordion(s) are from free SoundFonts, and turned into loops via MIDI. Also a live accordion MIDI track. Additional loops from DJ4Real, psychotropic circle, and sterixx - thanks gang!
Final draft went for bass enhancement, further dubbification of the mix and specific attention to the vocals. Changed the final accordion live composition as well.
Description : this is a demo. someting like music trip to this rich of sounds place .. India.
Description : Ethnic Beat.
Description : A big-fat, reggae-trance tune. If Jim Morrison had gotten to merge with reggae, he might have liked this. Sister Donna does some harmony. My flute-playing is often heavily influenced by India and Indonesia. I'd love to hear a Jamaican reggae-band do this. It's dedicated to my darlin' wifey. Sweet hypnotism all the way!
Description : The hustle and bustle of overcrowded and never sleeping India, the city of high rise to the streets of the slums. Sound, colour, life, humanity is always around being with the sharp awareness of the few who have and the many who don't. If you visit beautiful India, you will be changed forever.
[Inspired by friends of mine who recently came back from India (Nov '09) - Tina&Shorti ]
Description : Here's a track in the flavor of India. The main instruments are from Spectrasonics Omnisphere.

Description : Forgive me for I am extremely inexperienced :D
One of the very short pieces I worked on one late night in July around 2 AM, trying to brainstorm. I have been thinking of ways to expand this piece, but my skill level right now has prevented me from fleshing this out more.
This piece was made in FL Studio 8 Producers edition and it was a solo effort. The samples used are from free Directwave samples downloaded in FL8: Violin-Marcato and India Udukku. There is also a free sample from FPC (also downloaded in FL-8): World Japan Free.
Description : Nice mellow chilled out Indian vibe (Instrumental), reminds me of that timberland song he did with Magoo 'Indian Flute' about a decade ago. Me and a friend made this track back in like June but haven't had time to mix it and that. Tell me what you think...
Description : Cool, CHill
Description : this is a mix of gypsy violin and an indian song (dot, not feather)....my first real creation...this doesnt follow a traditional scale so its offensive to the ears to some who prefer the ueropean musical scale....others really love this...its more art than music and im pretty proud of this one...its probably my fav creation so far
Description : ( Cannabis in a jar ) Featuring Slap Johnson "sax "
Cannabis..... has a history that goes far futher then you might know. These are some of the terms Indians (India) use for marijuana ganja or cannabis or what ever you call it, to describe there feeling when they are intoxicated on this natural medication. Thankyou (SLAP) 4 slapping that paint brush all over this track... your a class act and I want 2 perhaps latter when we get some live drummers in to the studio....... Picking up the pace and loving you....Peace
Description : This track is a mix of some really wonderful instruments from different regions of India. This track was originally put together for a radio show on a local radio to give listeners and idea of the different instruments used in Indian music. Have been westernized a little bit to keep the western friends also alive. Hope you like it.
Description : People either hate this or love it...it's the first track I ever composed. Acid...Imagination is grand.
