Description : A smooth jazzy feel from the upright bass and the horn section gives this song it's name. I picture a Chop Top Hot Rod cruising down a desert highway at night. This was my first song composed on Reason 4. I just jotted the raw tracks down and thought it was garbage until the next day when I was listening to it again and was able to work it out to this. When I was making this song, I was going for a desert-ish theme. I started working on this on October 18th, so I've been working on this for 8 days. This took alot of work to get it to sound right, and I hope you enjoy it. Also upon creating this, I was aiming to create something unique.

This planet had two moons; one bearing the image of a human hand and the other, the image of a desert mouse - called Muad'Dib. The main character of the novel later takes Muad'Dib as his own name and becomes a great leader of the desert people, the Fremen, The vocals in the piece are by Ilona from the Sony Acid Music Studio 7 loop content, as are the other loops used.

Description : Another track from a collaboration with sax man Luke Townsend from Cape Town, also featured on last year's album called 'The Trip'. The title is Afrikaans and means 'The Flats' - it describes an area in the Karoo Desert which is endless. The piece started off as a 2 chord bass groove, which drives the main section, over which a bass melody was added. Luke then dropped in various melodic statements and we developed it with some percussion overdubs. Put together using Acid Pro and finished off using CuBase. The horns were mainly live, and the bass grooves are looped with some variation here and there. We used some drum grooves from Captain Asthma together with some drum grooves from Sony Acid that I bought.
Description : This will eventually feature the vocals of Asli Orcen, singing in Turkish. It has a cool intro that gives the effect of being out in the desert with locals singing in the distance. There are some Middle Eastern daf drums, some darbuka drums, a Middle Eastern violin called a sarangi, and some regular Hip-Hop drums. There's no World music category, so I had to put it in Fusion, seeing as it is a little of everything.
