Description : This was one of my first recordings last year using Samplitude. It's entirely loop based with no VSTs.

It probably could do with some re-mixing now that Ive moved to Sonar and I think I know what I'm doing!.

It is a journey through a tunnel with birds singing when you get into the light hence the sounds at the end.

Description : This is a tripped out happy rap. I used MIDI for the drums, the glowing sound, and the vinyl sound which are all in the beginning. The sounds in the chorus, there are two, were created with my microkorg synthesizer. I originally created this beat on garageband, and wrote the rap and recorded it into Logic.

***Lyrics***

I live in a yellow ocher shed,
Where the sun shines from my dumb open head.
And the birds are chirping from the redwood tree.
I pity the dead, cuz the dead can't see.
I plant the seeds,
It grows into a giant candy tree,
All the midgets are dancing around with lollipops,
To me they just look like a bunch of jolly dots.
I am a golden geranium,
Pour the happy powder inside my cranium,
With hearts, stars, horseshoes, clovers and blue moons.
Mix it all around, it's pure insanium.
And where the green grass grows,
I suppose I will doze in the sun as it glows,
With no clothes.
And now I am done,
So I go back to lay and doze in the sun.
I see birds and I see bugs,
Like a jolly olly gum drop,
Give me a hug!
Sunshine.

Flowers, trees, flowers and trees.
Birds, bugs, birds and bugs.
I love my sunshine.
Sunshine
Candy, Balloons, Balloons made of candy.
Life is skittles, life is dandy.
I love my sunshine.
Sunshine.

In this world of mine,
Where the sun forever shines.
I'm a happy child, until the end of time.
Rode a crocodiles back to the dark side of the moon.
It was really scary to be covered in gloom.
The flowers are in bloom,
But when are they not.
In this beautiful place I'm chillin', right here in the spot.
The spot where butterscotch grows,
Right out from the ground,
and the sound it makes is that of a merry-go-round.
The weeping willows, are forever smiling.
I fixed their hair upright, and now they're styling.
I'm dialing numbers, on a telephone,
But all I got back was the sound of a mellow tone.
It's well at home,
Melatonin's kickin' through the ceiling.
I'm feeling like a new born baby stealing,
Candy from a thief.
But I gave it back cuz
Babies don't have any teeth.
And just when I thought it couldn't get any better,
I put on my smiley sweater,
And I smile.
Sunshine.

Flowers, trees, flowers and trees.
Birds, bugs, birds and bugs.
I love my sunshine.
Sweaters, smiles, sweaters made of smiles.
Things are pleasant, things are worthwhile.
I love my sunshine.
Sunshine.

Description : Basically iv been trying to learn a new style of playing on acoustic guitar..basically you play a chord and tap out a melody. I came up with this after a daft mess about with the style. Im nowhere near good at this style yet but i hope to get better!.
This track is me and my acoustic...and the birds from outside my room that wouldn't shush while i was recording...so decided to record them and stick them in the track to fill it out a bit.
let me know what you think!

Description : This track came along quite strangely.

When I was a kid sometimes I saw dead birds in the garden. I always took it upon myself to bury them and make a religious cross out of bamboo sticks to plant on their little grave. I wondered how they fell. Was the wind too strong or did they get hit by something or maybe its time came. Point is, I always got there too late. Once I tried to revive one of them for 30mins. I stuck a straw into its opened beak and started blowing air into its body. There was so much air maggots started crawling out. Another reminder that I was too late.

This time, years later when I'm 22yrs, when all those childhood memories are supposedly forgotten, it hits me.

One day at home we heard this screeching sound and we saw a bird on the floor in the living room barely alive. I held it to see if it was ok but around 5 minutes later it died in my hand.

Our cat at home had sunk its teeth into its lungs since the bird was breathing quite heavily as every breath seemed to be slowing down and its eyes started closing bit by bit. At that time i was thinking how weird it was since I've never been able to see a bird this close up before while still alive and warm. I didn't know how long it had left to go.

I was wondering whether it knew it was dying hence to why it didn't bother trying to crawl off the palm of my hands. Its like it didn't fear anything, just sitting there taking its last breaths while slowly drifting away.

It began to lean, slowly falling on its side. It was gasping for more air. I didn't know what to do, thus I started blowing air towards it hoping it'll be enough. I was looking in its eyes, it looked back.

Staring at each other I suddenly realised what was really going on. That day, two different species, bird and human, were witnessing the same fact of life that is imminent to us all, from two different perspectives. We were both undergoing this experience we all fear, and it didn't matter that we were so different to each other. As two different bodies with completely different abilities and brain size, that moment contained no differences among us as we both understood at that precise moment the exact same thing. I shared an experience with a bird as if it was another human being. It felt really strange that I was connected to it in some way but I felt honoured.

Thus, this track began on that same night as a diary of that particular experience. It symbolises something which frankly is extremely difficult for me to put into words.

Description : Not so long ago my daughter came from school and told me that they had a litterature lesson in where they had to do an analysis of a short story. The short story happened to be one of my favourite writer's, Ray Bradbury's, story 'One Timeless Spring'. I began to search my bookcase to find Bradbury's books and this particular short story. Until I found it I started to read once again Bradbury's short stories and one of them was ' Perhaps We are going away'. I quote a few sentences from it: The birds, his hands cried suddenly, are flying south! Summer is over! No, the boy's hands said, summer has just begun! I see no birds! They are so high, said the Old Man's fingers, that only blind can feel their passage.

Description : Sounds of the sea and trippy acidy washes with a cool beat and some live acoustic guitar. Written in Cubase with live guitar and keys etc. The sound of the sea and birds was recorded on the beach where I used to live. After moving to the city one sunny day I was telling stories to a friend about living by the sea and started making this track.
