Description : Collab with Salook and Avanaco. Salook sent me the stems and I was inspired to do something n0madish to it. Added bull roarers, rattles, and effected barimbau to the mix and tweaked and manipulated the stems to tease out the urban aboriginal sounds.

I've tried to turn this thing into a sonic ritual - and let the sounds effect the psyche in significant ways.

FINAL FINAL DRAFT2 - rerecorded with Live and the APC 40. Added an additional track (to create more bass) of an effected monochord attempting to emulate the sounds of a friction drum. Further revised the effects on the barimbau, and rattles, too. Addition of ululations for purposes of equilibrium. Pretty intense.

Salook and I have been discussing this project as a kind of sonic triptych, with each of the 3 collaborators having a version like a panel in a painting. The iconographic triptychs were portals between the mundane world and the spiritual one, and it really feels like the "base" of this piece connects to this function.

When I was a graduate student at Western Washington University, we had a visiting professor from the Northwest Province of Cameroon join the dept. for a year. Shortly after arriving, he went to visit the nearby Lummi Reservation and was surprised to find that their masks were very similar to his own. Additionally, the Lummi had wooden longhouses just like back home, and danced the same dances but in the opposite direction. The only real difference he could see (of significance) was how the rattle is a sacred object in America, but not back in Africa.

Much thanks to Salook and Avonaco for allowing me to do this one.

Avonaco's "Action Figures" should be listened to first.

Salook's "Ham Radio" should be listened to next.

Description : Hmm, what can I say? I worked on this after finishing Joy Stix and it took me a few hours. Initally wanted to try out some dubstep but I'm not so sure this even fits that genre. Feedback & suggestions are always welcome. Enjoy

Description : A funky house track

Description : This track is mostly tribal. Afro style & jazz are mixing somehow with contemporary (pure 2/4) tribal groove. The harmony is all over chromatic (easy harm. influence Jamiroquai - "too young to die") as the colors of savanna and the jungle. An experiment of an old hunter for new grooves. In contrast, pentatonic at bridge, picardian, mode: t-t-Tm-t with chords of 6/7 split to dominant bass under 6 and 4/7, and so on. I used: Boss DR 880 (several original minimal patterns) joined with a sub-bass, Roland MV8800, Roland Juno Stage (full expanded), Roland 1824, MIDI Sync Router Edirol, some original arps, and a vocoder. The rest is another white night:)) Enjoy!

Description : In this Zulu piece I tried to bring back the old traditional Mbhaqanga sound (a genre within the Zulu traditional music. It's a very "busy" type of music, high tempto with hectic drums & percussions and repetitive rhythm guitars. some people ad keyboards, bass and just about any instrument they like. there are no limits or limitations). Vocals and guitar is all me.

Description : Well after being stuck in Africa for an extra 5 days thanks to the Volcano, its been about 3 weeks since i've made a song, and as soon as I got on the computer I managed to make this. It didnt take long, well, I already had like 4 bars made which really set the foundations for it.

Its good fun, upbeat, some new synths involved as well, I think it all came together really well. Please review! :)

**Revision: Updated, lengthened, levels hopefully sorted out (or at least better) and a new drum beat added for the end. enjoy :)

Description : first again thank you Minette from South Africa for letting me use your great acapella for this track, she told me that it reminded her of Dave Matthews Band and I can hear that especially with my use of the fiddle, this is soft alternative rock with a youngs woman sensibility, hope you enjoy.

She is called "Saro Tee". Very talented but stubborn vocalist, am going to upload her vocals very soon. your reviews will be appreciated. Enjoy another the voice of Africa.

Description : Importing Hungry Ghosts (shards of pot de tetes). My first seasonal Halloween track. Loops from planetjazzbass, bosonHavoc, and DJ4Real. Live MIDI recording with DSK Darkness Theory, and effected live kalimba (finger piano) track. The bass is a homemade kalimba made from an acoustic guitar (without neck) with keys made from a bamboo rake, played live as an overdub.
DRAFT 2: Edited down from 6:16 to 3:57. The foundation is now ready for spooky jungulified melody work!

DRAFT3: Added simulated fiddle melody in live recording. There's a tradition in W. Africa about the godji (monochord fiddle) being the sound that penetrates the spirit world and it seems fitting to add this kind of sound.

DRAFT4: Total revision of draft 3, but I kept the fiddle sounds via psychotropic circle and added "possession voices" via the same loop creator. Hopefully this is the terrifying version I'm looking for.

Description : Ladies and gentlemen. I'd like to introduce to you South African House also known as SA House. I like to fancy my country as the mother of House music since 1000's of years ago music emerged from Africa. Our people are dependent of House. House makes the World go round. I've got all the reference I need by just walking down the street. I was inspired by our local Sunday Night events. People from all over our provence gather with BMW's and burnout. And has the largest collection of underground House Music I know. Wether I'm white, black, coloured or indian we don't care, cause it's House that bring us together as 1 nation. Hope you enjoy

Description : This is the "single" off my promo album coming real soon. I aint trying to brag nothing, just got to post this one for my looperman family. You know!

I really enjoy this song. I've been listening to this crap on the radio lately kuz we can't neglect it. It's music. But i got angry at how selfish we are in American music, the rap isn't for the streets any more, and that's where it was born and where it should continue to live.

This song was inspired by all who forget where they come from, For those struggling, Those in Somalia, Africa on a hungry tip.
Pay attention and focus on whats going on.
