Description : Silly and juvenile. There is no gas shortage. At least I don't have one. Harmonica and vocals recorded together. One take.

Description : I added some sax and guitar to this really laid back cool track by bchris. I love the feel of this track. Not sure if I'm completely happy with my work on this one... but it's a start.

Description : Playing a Fender Stratocaster over a basic blues progression. Trying out a highly compressed signal through a Rectifier amp model. Also a point of interest for guitarists, I tried using a thumb pick exclusively on this track with some interesting results. Though I did experience a bit of sloppy noise at times, I found that the thumb pick provided a certain rhythmic element to my technique. I shall investigate this technique further. ACID 6 Pro and Sound Forge. Another Soup for Mankind.

Description : This is my first track uploaded.

It's a rough mix, and it's missing keys, and a sax solo. (Drum loops from freeloops.com)

Constructive criticism is encouraged. (Be brutal, I can take it!)

Description : Hello all,
Well, it has been awhile since I have uploaded anything. But, that was due my work schedule mostly.

What we have here is a 3 part Blues song. Why 3 parts?
Well, at my age, I have to capture all I can and put it down before it gets away. :-)

Anyways, the 1st. part is an Acoustic guitar background with a nice ring to it, and a Telecaster lead slightly distorted.
Some Dobro (Resonator guitar)sounds are sprinkled here and there in songs 1 & 2.

2nd. part is a Strat. playing finger picking style with some cool harmonics.....and then regular lead.

3rd. part. A friend helped me wih the lead on this one as my fingers don't quite go that fast these days. :)

There are 2 sections where there is just ,Bass, Drums, and Rhythm Guitar playing so you could download it and jam along if you want to. All is in the key of "A".
Drums are loops. I am playing most of the rest.

(I am awaiting a new pickup for my Dobro guitar so I can add more into my future songs)
As for my next venture...probably a 12 string guitar song.
Hope you like the songs!
Randy

Description : Here is an old traditional blues song played with my friend Harry and my cousin Peter. To give a more blues feel I lowered the voice. one octave. Sometimes you hear a little robotic sound but well it was a experiment.
Hope you like it.

Description : A blues inspired song with a modern day twist. Blues folklore history speaks of a crossroads where you can sell your soul for the price you name. Robert Johnson the blues guitarist was claimed to have done this very deed. It seems nowadays with the popularity of reality shows ect.... The Devil has more than blues musicians to pick from and many crossroads are being found, not just ones in the deep south.. All instruments and vocals Slap..I hope you all enjoy this one, Cheers Slap...

Description : I found a jamtrack on the internet with a big blues band. Don't know where it's coming from but it's a good recording.
So I took my Strat and Lin6 Toneport UX 2 and made a bluesimprovisation like they did in the early sixties.
Hope you like it.

Description : This song is a liitle bit of blues, Vaudeville with some jazz chords. It's a serious joke. My cousin and me gettin fatter and fatter. Living in a rich country with plenty of food becomes a problem of luxery while other people die of hunger.
Recorded as simple as possible. A shuffle drumloop, one aucoustic and bass guitar, some fat thighs and a harp.
My cousin is singing.

Description : A summer song for lovers. I have featured a slide guitar on this track which I'm currently learning, it helps to give this song it's dreamy feel. Full horn section part and on the chorus doubled vocals to add depth. I hope you enjoy the third song from my forth coming album " Before the devil takes me down". All comments welcome. Cheers Slap...

Description : New track taken from a new album i'm working on entitled "Before the devil takes me down" this is the second track from the album, the first`being "Fragile wings". This song features a clarinet section instead of the usual sax section I put in my songs. I'm sure you will enjoy the different warmer sound the clarinet makes. The song is about a bloke I know, bit of a bastard really, just lies about everything. It must be shit to live with a compulsive lying get like this. I think the song reflects the only decent thing he can do in a relationship, but this is my angle on his story and not his own. I hope you enjoy the song. Cheers Slap...

Description : This is a sad song about family and friends I lost because of a terrible desease. What do you think at night when you've got the message it's over?. I've played all instruments and my cousin is singing. I hope the lead guitar has a Peter Green touch because he's my favourite bluesplayer. I hope you'll enjoy it although is a very sad song

Description : The reason for making this song was my trip through the Delta. It's flat just like Holland and I was touched by the poverty I saw and learned a lot about the history. I was aware of this because I've red a lot about it. Now I was there and saw it with my own eyes. At Dockery"s Plantation I felt the presence of so much blues. This is the first time I sing a song so don't judge me too hard on this because it took a lot of courage to do it.

Description : Okay...here is my 3rd song and it is a 2 part song. This is a Blues tune and about as 'blues' as you can get! The 1st part is a slow 78 bpm with Acoustic guitar tuned to an open 'E' using a slide. Also, using an acoustic bass and drums. Part of this is from a loop CD, as I am playing the bass and drum parts too.
The guitar is fingerpicked so you'll even hear the strings slap against the neck now and then. :-)

The 2nd part starts about 3 seconds after the 1st is done, and it features a Fender Strat tuned to an open "C' using a slide as well, and the guitar has a 'crunchy' sound at 93 bpm. I am playing bass and drums on this also, and with the help of a loop CD. I used effects such as compressors, limiters and reverb in both songs.
Took me month working on this, so now I am off to work on something else. Hope you like them,
Randy

Description : This track is as rough can get right now. So what makes it so special? Well, first off I was exploring all the different drum loops that came with Acid Music Studio 7.0. Anyways, as soon as I heard this drum loop it inspired me without warning. I copied the Drum loop and spread it out over more then enough measures to lay down my vocals on top off. I started singing. Complete Acapella style with nothing else besides the drums going. After a couple minutes my inspiration for Ad Lib words came to an end. Had more then enough of a foundation to pull from for a song. Now, MMmmmmm... interesting what chords will work or come close to working with it. So I set up another track and plugged my guitar straight in, did not have my Guitar Effects processor handy, so I ended up playing clean. Anyways, I hit record... and what you hear is what I came up with on the fly to what I just sung on the fly. Literally a song idea within a matter of minutes. I was Amazed that I actually sung in KEY. I've been struggling with being either slightly sharp or flat on notes for awhile now. Wow... something to be said for working with Acapella's. I've never laid down vocals first, with music coming second. OK, I'm not a DJ remix master of loops. Loops and software such as ACID, Reaper and you name really are awesome though. Anyways, this track is proof that Acapellas even of your own invention can be fun to work with. I've not sliced and diced anything yet. I just thought I'd share this track with others. It's a work flow method, one that I've never explored before. I kept the track somewhat short and did include the couple of minutes of me just jamming off on guitar leads. Hope this inspires other people a little with some food for thought.

Description : The 9 tracks you have from this point are from an album I wrote for three 17 year old ladies. 3Style= Anna Johnson, Emma Jenkinson & Rosie Madderson on vocals and the Slapman basically recording and playing everything you hear. The album "Can we turn this around" did ok in our area and was fun to make. I hope you enjoy it , cheers Slap...
