Description : Imagine a future where water is more valuable than gold where corporations have control over the public water sources, and everyone has to pay a premium for access. Well, it's already happening...

Hey Micky, thanks so much for stopping by and taking a listening. Originally when I wrote the description for the track (a very long time ago), Nestl, Coke and all the other usual suspects were included in
that narrative. But since Looperman changed how long that can be, I had to shorten my commentary considerably. I shake my head in disappointment and disbelief at what has been occurring for some time now. And now with the climate crisis accelerating that only makes matters worse. However that is why artist like you and I can keep the conversation and awareness going by including such topics through our art form. Sorry I know that was a pretty lengthy response lol! Thanks again for the listen.
Well, I have these and similar discussions often! Unfortunately, I have to say that I often run them.
Well, that's how it is. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of people who don't want to accept that we don't have any more time.
Almost frustrating, isn't it?
Good night
To reply to your last entry, yes it frustrating that "some" don't want to accept what is the painful truth.
It's been eye opening to watch this once slow rolling train disaster now completely fly off the rails...
but hey... who wants sustainable planet anyway right?
This is brilliant in its brevity, and I love the political sentiment. Bass line is fantastic. I like how the guitar isn't on the off beat as it would normally be with reggae. That drives it along nicely with the bass, which did I mention is fantastic? Och aye.
Hey Zootman thanks so much for your review and for the kind words. Yes for the guitar riff I had my guitar player play it as to how I heard the composition in my head. I played the bassline according to how I programmed the drum track. And of course, the subject matter was to hopefully spark discussion, which I see has now been achieved. :)
Hello Dennel, I don't think you can rationally understand the madness that is currently happening in our world, the only world we own. There are so many things that are out of control at the moment. Think of the climate crisis, the garbage chaos, the wars, the migrations that are taking place and and and.... . We are in the process of KNOWINGLY destroying exactly what we urgently need to survive. I think this world would be a much better place without us humans!
Now I digress. I should stick to music better.
Why Hello again Manuela (lol), I see that this subject matter has struck a cord with you? No problem, truth of the matter is (as I see it) we're already past that point of no return. I'm starting to believe on some level that the increased chaos and madness of human behavior is directly associated to the distress we (humans) have caused the earth. I heard something recently that scientist predict that by the 2030s most if not all the ice caps would be gone? imma let that one sink in there for a moment.... really... by the 2030s? The City of New York recently released a press statement announcing that it will ban all internal combustion vehicles by (get this) 2030. California made a similar statement as to 2032, the laughable thing is (figuratively) it's far too late for that. Of course, I could go on and on but I'll end on your statement that pretty much sums it up. "We're in the process of KNOWINGLY destroying exactly what we urgently need to survive." That is surely a fact... I'm pleasantly surprised that this topic has moved you to further discussion.
Hello, unfortunately I also know that this is the case! Beverage manufacturers buy up the water rights in order to produce their beverage in large quantities at low cost. Above all, this is happening on a large scale in South America and southern Europe. The population is left behind. But why do you need water, you can buy the drink produced. Long live C....C..a and what they are all called and long live the corrupt politicians who also enrich themselves from it.
It's nice that you put the whole thing into a Reaggymix!
Kind regards, Manuela
Hello Manuela, Firstly thanks for the listen. Secondly I absolutely concur with all your commentary and the reality that is.
The inspiration for the track came from a article I read many years ago about former President George Bush Sr having bought some ungodly amount of water resources from the country of Paraguay.
I just recalled being really incensed, and asking the question why should one individual have that much power over another countries natural resources? And as you've stated the usual suspects (Beverage manufacturers) buying up water rights globally. Again thanx 4 ur response...
"D" This is a true sonic feast. Man, I'm loving everything you've done here. Composed, clocked, and compacted, all in a minute and a half. You really got me with those drum accents, yep, that move with that accenting bass line put that power and majesty on front street. But the spotlight is on the exceptional guitar work. This really could the opening soundtrack for "Bad Boys 4" Great work, my friend. Peace.
Hey Mark my friend thanks for the kind words and your wonderful review of the track. Though it was a short track and could've been longer and a lot more added. I recall at the time just wanting to do a quick statement piece. I achieved the drum track by programming a "Alesis D4" studio rack drum machine. Then playing my bassline along with the track, I had a good friend do the guitar riff. Looking back I probably should've added more organ parts, but after listening to the track a few times I ended up really liking the "minimalist" aspect and left it as such.
I must say seeing the corporations do the things we were all told they would eventually do is scary beyond my comprehension. That being said. The composition on this track is great. I've never explored reggae myself but this song particularly would be accompanied greatly by some vocals warning of this exact phenomena in a cryptic but beautiful way
Hey Zivonmusic thanks so much for the kind words and acknowledging the terrifying truth of the corporations and their endless global grab of all the natural resources.
I can't thank you enough for the compliments/support on my recordings & judging by the quality of your work, will definitely reach out if I ever want my songs mixed. Another MAESTRO! (You) who knows about producing outstanding! music. Thx.
great work Dennel, thats an old track but when they are that good they are always fresh. love the groove and bounce, such an authentic sound bro, had me at the intro. i was pissed when it finished so had a couple more listens. fantastic title, now that would be something to sing about, outro was cool AF
Hey dimestep thanks for the kind comments and for the listen. Yes it is a old track, when I started back listening to the looper platform a few weeks ago; a few artist who knew me from back then asked if I was going to do any new tracks? I said yes and am working on some new tracks. I recall just doing this as a short track not sure if I would expand the time on it. But I wanted to lay down my bassline and the drum track before I forgot the idea at the time.
Thanks so much for listening, glad you liked it. Yeah been using the Mixcraft DAW since version 3 (currently at 10). Always liked their platform for not being too overly complicated to use.
When I started out singing, it was reggae, I started singing so musically it's my first love & I have to say what a cool!!! and irie! reggae beat right here, loving everything about it. You have a lot of talent no doubt, it is evident going by the quality/what you produce. This is a *JAM* TOP! Work & very much enjoyed by me. Kudos! Faved! :)
Hey Angelus thanks for commenting on the track and glad you enjoyed it. Now on to you Sista Gurl, I fav'd your track "4 In The Morning" along with a few others, let me just say if you ever decide to want a track of yours mixed I'll gladly volunteer. You have such a beautiful voice for soul & r&b, I'm trying to picture you singing reggae but I'm sure that you do it very well. :)
Wow I came here not really knowing what to expect and your sound is all over the place in terms of genres. Very cool stuff you've made man. I think ill listen to your other works too
Hey AP thanks for dropping by and checking
out my track. Yeah... I'm a pretty eclectic kinda guy lol! The most asked question now from reviewers since returning from my long hiatus is will I be droppin' any new music? And the answer is yes. Glad you like the track...
Yep, its on the way and without any standardized method of population control (beyond random regional conflicts) things're only bound to get worse. Though the only difference between my view and yours is that it won't be over water (there's too much ocean for that to happen, yet), but over produce (grains, rice, vegies, etc.). Or should I say, it will be over the price-gouging/price-hikes that'll happen. As for the song, I thought the drum treatment was nicely done/arranged. And the effects ya had on the guitar were keen too. Keep bangin on mate. Lates!
Hey Donnie my apologies, I only recently started coming back on this site. And apparently I missed this post. Thanks for for great review much appreciated.
hello from the great lakes where water is a resource fought over by those who would only profit themselves - greed trumps need - the world you describe is already here - thanks for the music and the message
Description : Music composed by Alex Richard and Laurent Wirz. With: Hanspeter Dubach Lead and rhythm guitars, Alex Richard Bass and rhythm guitars, Claude Barbotte Hammond organ, Joël Perrin Saxophone and me at the drums. The two grooves I used for this one are to find under Loops and Sample, member laurentwirz, reggae. Also an excellent loop from member ebae. I have to say that I asked Michael Mayo before publishing it but I received no answer yet. It was pretty difficult with his acapella because it's a pretty short loop with not a lot of words (for an almost 5 minutes track)! You can ear also some background vocals from Patricia Edwards and I hope it's okay for her.

Description : Guitars, keys and vox by me. LM drum loops 130_Dagger_Live_Drums, 23sk-drums-reverb-spring-roots and alabafruit. Horns from Loopmasters dub and reggae horns sample demos.
Description : This track contains only free loops from several Looperman artists. I think one of my best works lately... but wonder if it's ok with headphones too - there a lot of very rough cuts. Enjoy!
Applied loops (fully or partially):
Description : A quick idea I did in one day, 2 mixes, more an exercise for myself than anything serious. Inspirations were a Peter Tosh docu for the reggae feel, a surfing vid on what a point break was for the vox, the Ace of Bass vid The Sign for the drums and Jaco Pastorius song Crisis for a bit of inspirational bass thrown in. 2 drum loops used and a vocal effect loop for the heck of it in the middle, he. Live percussion, cabasa, guiro and double maraca. Me on git, bass, vox. Here comes Summer!

Description : I uploaded the vocals in 2012, Soap BRILLIANTLY produced this track around them. I was listening and thought I'd share as well. Don't forget to stop at his place and leave some Looper love! Enjoy!
Description : Richard Shekari and I worked on this project earlier this year. I play bass, guitar, banjo, dobro and also sing on this. Richard added a cool harmonica sound and has an amazing voice. I have learned a lot from him, Richard produced this track.
Description : NEW - 2014 - I used a few samples from sterixx called riddim.
And one from seanmccuaig called vocal beat.
I used some lyrics from an older song by myself. It was more a dark wave song befor but i realy enjoyed it to sing and produce it in reggae style.
Hope you enjoy this version also.
Peaceful and pure.
Well done.
All the best,
D
Your groove is great. Take it through the centuries!
