Description : A "Jazz Fusion" track I'm currently working on, to mix things up a bit I used the thrillseekers D&B loop from looperman. This is however just a short take of the basic tracks for now; since I haven't posted anything here for awhile. Dig the musical exchange between (Art Miller) on guitar playing the main melody, and myself playing bass solo's in contrast. Hope you like it D

This is a pretty innovative update to the fusion style, and I'm digging it! The drum and bass backup threw me for a loop for a moment, but when I heard the guitar and bass work getting into the groove, I totally got it. I found the song refreshing, and since it's the first song I've heard today, that is welcome. Nice to hear some real instruments going on, and they are played fantastically! Totally dig it! Fave!

Hey Spivkurl (we just had a power outage so I'm re-typing this). I sometimes forget that folks actually still do listen to these older tacks from time to time. with that being said, yeah.. I know what you mean about the "Drum & Bass" track throwing you off. I thought it would be really cool to incorporate a "Jazz Fusion Guitar & Bass runs" with a drum & Bass track.

I recalled "Humming" the guitar melody to my guitar player Art. And he just picked it up and ran away with it, his guitar playing really brings the track alive. I wanted a "Counter" bass solo riff, so I did my best "Low Grade Stanley Clarke-ish" Bass solo's (lol). I hate that I never got around to finishing the track.

Though they use the term "Fusion" very loosely here on looperman, what I know the true meaning of fusion to be is "Jazz Fusion", the marriage of jazz & rock influences, created by the late, great "Mile Dives" and continued by the many musical students that went on to create their own super jazz fusion groups. Like the late, great "Joe Zawinule" & "Wanyne Shorter" (Weather Report), Chick Corea & Stanley Clarke (Return To Forever), etc.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and I so glad that you enjoyed the track, and thanks for making it your fav.

Hey Fila what's up man? Glad you dug the track, still working on it. You actually did hear the bass, I was trying to do my best "Stanley Clarke" imitation bass solo runs against Art playing the melody. I'll tap you on the shoulder when it's finished; (lol). Take care, peace...

Description : A fat groove journey incorporating hip hop, jazz, rock and more. Chilled out and rocking, with some big riffs and basslines. The main instruments are saxophone, piano and cello plus some resonator guitar and banjo. Sax is the only instrument not played by me as the parts here were contributed a few years ago by a guy I know. Anything that sounds like distorted guitar is actually distorted cello. Loads of that, including solos, in the second half. No electric guitar or bass guitar. Not much synth work but there are two synth basses and an organ. Otherwise, it's quite an acoustic "played instruments" kind of sound. Lots of drums, including loops, multiple programmed acoustic kits and drum hits. I know Radiohead have an excellent song called Everything In Its Right Place but I still like my title and there's a story behind it (nothing to do with music). Interesting feedback appreciated. Do you have any favourite or least favourite sections? Details are appreciated...
