The absolute star guests appearing today are the “TrueSister” with the sweet Manuela on the microphone and the cheerful Angelica on the piano, accompanied by the “Olaf’s Jazz Combo”.
Have fun and a nice evening of dancing!

(Jazz trifft nicht so richtig das Genre. Es ist wohl eher Swing.)

So many of your songs make me think of my mother, and idk exactly what it is. Maybe the reason will hit me one day, but for now, I will simply enjoy the music and the flow of memories. If your music does that for somebody, then you kno you're doing exactly what you should be doing. You're meant for this, Manuela. Thank you for letting me, and all of us, be a part of your world. -Aaron

Hello Aaron, it's nice to think of his own mother! I am very fortunate that my mother lives near me. So I see her almost every day. This is also very important for my two daughters.
I take what you wrote as a big compliment! Thanks for that!
Kind regards, Manuela

2Sisters replied 21st Jan 2024 - 5 months ago
Hello Paul, the last time we had it was on January 1st. private contact. I've been trying to reach her for 2 weeks but she's not responding. All I can say here is that she is not feeling well. I'll get in touch with you privately in the next few days. Here at LM I don't want to say anything. Kind regards, Manuela

I'd settle for 25, maybe, when I wasn't so mixed up! Lovely track, like xstokes to me this feels like a slice of Americana country style, apart from the jazz combo of course. Keys are outstanding and yes, your voice is sweet. The song evokes a nostalgia for past innocence, excitement and anticipation.
2Sisters replied 18th Jan 2024 - 5 months ago
Hey, did your life start so late *laughs or do you want to hide what came before *smile.
Seriously, thank you for your nice message and praise, which I would be happy to pass on to everyone else. A little nostalgia is nice sometimes, right? Kind regards and a good night with beautiful dreams

Hello Paul, a big thank you to you too for your time, your message and your great praise! Glad you like the song. I actually thought my voice sounded sweet and sexy and not smoky *laughs. No seriously, thank you for your kind words.

hi Manuela, what a strange hybrid this is! a country n western weeper played by a swing combo and rock guitar. with our 2 good sisters in the middle of it all, it comes together a real treat. the lyrics will keep me until last call. hope all is well, hat’s off to the group!
2Sisters replied 18th Jan 2024 - 5 months ago
Hello my friend and thanks for the kind words! The secret is: I just find it difficult to stick to any genre *smile. But the term "hybrid" would be a genre that I would like *smile.
Everything is fine with us, I hope it is with you too?
Thank you for your praise to the team, which I would be happy to pass on.
Best regards

Hi, Manuela:

Loved this track. Such a fun spirit! Vocals were excellent, as was the guitar work, as usual.

BUT, I really want to comment on the piano work by Angelica. WOW! That's seriously good piano stuff. I would have liked to have heard it more prominently in the mix I think. Actually, I think the track might be a bit over-produced.

As you know, I really do recognize and appreciate the excellent musicianship of everybody in the Olafs Jazz Combo. Horns are great. But, for this track, I would have been very happy to hear just you, Angelica, bass, and guitar I think. An arrangement and production that reflected, perhaps more closely, what one might actually hear at a dance in a school gymnasium.

Sometimes, less is more. But, that's just a personal reaction.

The track is great. We are lucky to have all of you here on Looperman.

Hello Eric,
you are absolutely right! My little sister (10 years younger than me) is a great pianist. She has already proven her virtuality, her flexibility and her uncanny talent coupled with her joy of life, which is transferred from her playing to the listener, in other songs. For example with "For Manuela", (she wrote this song for me when my health was very bad) with which she has already encouraged many other musicians to compose their own additional melodic tracks for this song. There is already a Russian version, one Italian, a Korean and currently an American musician is also working on a version with an Indian flute. There is also a notable violin version. We keep getting emails asking whether this piano game can be used for other productions. And that even though we hardly advertised this little song and this song is only available on LM. But that also says something about LM’s international reach. This is often underestimated. But in “Under the Moon” and “If we hold on together” among others, she showed what she can do. (I hope Angelica isn't reading this. She doesn't want me to praise her like that*smile. Mein Schatz, falls du das liest, ich liebe dich). In addition, she is also a good guitarist (you can hear it in the song "2 Sister"), sings even when you force her *laughs and is in charge of most arrangements, including this one.
This song, like many others, has its own story. I actually sat in a jazz club in Berlin years ago. Was a bit melancholy. A song by a big band came out of the jukebox and behind the bar there was a metal poster (don't know if you're familiar with that) with a picture similar to the cover picture for this song printed here. This poster advertised a school prom. It all came back to me when I read these lyrics, which no one knows who wrote them. Angelica then had the idea of a big band, which we tried to implement here.
But there will definitely be more songs in the future in which Angelica's piano playing will be more dominant again.
Kind regards, Manuela

Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...

Description : This track contains only free loops from and several loops from Looperman artists (listed below). I "made a promise" that my next track will be use a lot of jazzy loops - well, i done with this track, for the great sadness of jazz lovers or experts i think - i fear they will never forgive me. :) While my ISP launches my internet out of the Earth system for a long time, i had to face the fact that i dont have too much downloaded jazz loops on my computer, so i think no wonder that this one is sounds like if i smoke some marihuana while making it. But hey, who cares, i like the result - it reminds me the (maybe only) really funny episode of "Breaking Bad", where Pinkman uses some heroin and flyes up with an idiotic smile on his face - that chapter is priceless. :D
I dont think this one needs a vocal, but ofcourse you can use it if you want, and as always, just write and i will give any support as i can. Any feedback welcomed too as always. Enjoy! UPDATE 2015.10.24.: improved audio quality - lower lows, higher highs. Now in 256kbps!

Description : I created a hip hop groove in Logic and decided to duel some Saxophones. I am playing the Baritone sax on the left pan and the Tenor Sax on the right pan.
I added some bells like a boxing match bell to give it a fight drama feel. The hip hop track itself is dope to me. The duel is cool too. Who won?

Description : I wrote this track about two years ago. I remember at the time I wrote it I was having conversations with BofD and Mark about oddball time signatures so,
I played all the instruments in different time signatures from time to time 3/4 4/4 5,6 &7/8 etc. I wanted this track to be a track where time sigs went to die.
