This is a sprightly track wow! this is crisp, you have gone and done it again, pulling out all the stops for this one. Cant sit still with this one. Another FANTASTIC!!! jazzy jam much enjoyed. Kudos! Keep up the awesome work!

Mark, that's great! Can be listened in the middle of the night and you will be awake and moving in no time. I especially like the double bass. I've also used it from time to time and found it relatively difficult to mix or embed it in the overall sound so that it remains recognizable. You did a great job here. Tell me, this reminds me of Zappa in places, but maybe that's just me. Probably the marimba unison passage reminded me of Ruth Underwood... very nice, stimulating track!

    Peace, Micky

    Reply by kingmt77

Micky! I'm elated you stopped by. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. You are beyond a shadow of a doubt full on correct about that blasted double bass! It is a real beast to tame! I had to go to my secret vault and pull out a VST called Basslane Pro. Now what that bad boy will do is too bossed up. Yep, it can split the lower Hz into as many eq bands your heart could desire. Then widen or narrow any of those bands to extract all the bass juice you need without distorting. You are very close about the Zappa reference, the Rhodes licks you heard are from none other than the late great Mr George Duke! Yep, Zappa's keyboardist from the early days. Then you drop Ruth Underwood on me! Yep, mallets on steroids 4 sure. Ok, Micky, I'll stop. Be safe.

    Hello kingmt77,
I am not a fan of jazz but in this case I enjoyed the listen from the beginning to the end. I value the work from you here on LM but I am not able to give you a comment. It is because I have no knowledge about jazz. But I can hear that you must be a great jazz musician.

The compliments you gave is a big encouragement and fuel for the musical fire which never seams to go out LOL. Anyway Im looking forward to listening to your work. Have a great rest of the weekend and stay safe.

Description : A fat groove journey incorporating hip hop, jazz, rock and more. Chilled out and rocking, with some big riffs and basslines. The main instruments are saxophone, piano and cello plus some resonator guitar and banjo. Sax is the only instrument not played by me as the parts here were contributed a few years ago by a guy I know. Anything that sounds like distorted guitar is actually distorted cello. Loads of that, including solos, in the second half. No electric guitar or bass guitar. Not much synth work but there are two synth basses and an organ. Otherwise, it's quite an acoustic "played instruments" kind of sound. Lots of drums, including loops, multiple programmed acoustic kits and drum hits. I know Radiohead have an excellent song called Everything In Its Right Place but I still like my title and there's a story behind it (nothing to do with music). Interesting feedback appreciated. Do you have any favourite or least favourite sections? Details are appreciated...
