Hey Mark! Realized I needed to stop in and check out your latest creation. At this point it goes without saying that your production will be flawless, the drums will be banging and the whole thing will flow like nobody's business. The vocals are a wonderful addition to your usual soundworld, I'm looking forward to hearing how you develop that going forward. (I'm a bit biased of course lol)

When I was listening, the flute kinda stole the show in my opinion. Almost sounded a bit like Ian Anderson. But in particular I wanted to mention the somewhat ambient intro and outro, they gave the song a sense of cohesion and really tied the whole thing together. Great stuff as ever my friend! Hope all is well with you and yours.

Cam, it's always an honor for your stop through. Your continued support is greatly appreciated. I'm going through an about every 3-month cycle with some new VST instruments and effects plugins. That alone is the inspiration to keep pushing forward with different ideas. The feedback here is especially appreciated, as this one with the vocals was a step out of my norm. It's good you found this listen to your liking. Have an awesome and safe week, and I'll catch you on the next round.

You start off with the sick drums, holy crap. Then you got the sax solo spot right on track. And who's lurking around the corner? Jazz flute? Where do you get off man! But yes, it's the vocals that make it for sure. Awesome job man!

Amazing. Such lovely voice, super tight drums, great keys, and a good bass too.
My only little niggle is that I was hoping the singer to come back in the third part... But there's so much great stuff going on that I don't mind.
    Love your work buddy!

Believe or not. I am trained in Jazz too even though I am basically a folk-wreck. I like all the Real Book classics, modal jazz, fusion and experimental jazz, which, if you dont mind, I will dare to call this one. It is lovely moody and chilly. The latter I have often found in Jazz where I couldnt find it elsewhere, especially not in my own music. Do not know if it is on purpose, but a few times the drums seem to stumble a little, which makes the feeling very "live" and attention catching. Nice work, Duke :-)

    Kind Regards

Greetings Gothi. Trained in jazz turned folk wreck? Now that's what I call musically well-rounded! Me like you all jazz flavors will set me firmly in my happy place. Thank you very much for your kind feedback. I decided on this shuffle for the drums for that loose feeling that gives that floaty, drifty effect. I appreciate your stop. Be safe.

Nice, I like the delay-phased effects on the Rhodes. very nice smooth. I was not expecting that transition at 1:53. nice acoustic. And we get a sax and a flute, bonus instruments! Everything fit nicely. Good work

Hello Mark, great song. Starts out a bit ambient and then builds up to a wonderful session. The sax is fantastic and the acoustic guitars and flutes that appear in between are accompanied by a well-played keyboard and great driving bass and drums. Beautiful overall picture, technically akkorat implemented. Excellent master and mix, regards Manuela

Manuela, greetings. Gratitude to you for sharing your thoughts and the detail on how this one translated. I'm a mood type of writer and composer. I really wanted the acoustic guitar and flute solo with that gritty acoustic bass (not the upright). Also, I'm a little more at ease with my keyboard playing. Thanks for that mention as well. Take it easy and be safe.

Description : This song highlights a few different styles of jazz. First it starts with a kinda early 20s and 30s groove. Than it melds into a New Orleans style. Than into a sort of Maynard Ferguson big band jazz/rock groove, and finishing off with the 20s and 30s style again, all held together with some cool horns and bass. All n all, it's...Pretty Cool! Hope you like

Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...

Description : This track contains only free loops from Stayonbeat.com and several loops from Looperman artists (listed below). I "made a promise" that my next track will be use a lot of jazzy loops - well, i done with this track, for the great sadness of jazz lovers or experts i think - i fear they will never forgive me. :) While my ISP launches my internet out of the Earth system for a long time, i had to face the fact that i dont have too much downloaded jazz loops on my computer, so i think no wonder that this one is sounds like if i smoke some marihuana while making it. But hey, who cares, i like the result - it reminds me the (maybe only) really funny episode of "Breaking Bad", where Pinkman uses some heroin and flyes up with an idiotic smile on his face - that chapter is priceless. :D
I dont think this one needs a vocal, but ofcourse you can use it if you want, and as always, just write and i will give any support as i can. Any feedback welcomed too as always. Enjoy! UPDATE 2015.10.24.: improved audio quality - lower lows, higher highs. Now in 256kbps!

Description : Music by Antonio Carlos Jobim. This particular piano arrangement is from one of jazz sheet piano books I found on scribd. The electric piano is MrRay22 plugin which I played on Casio CDP220 digital piano. This is also a new piece that I learned today so it was quite tricky to get a proper touch at places and overall make the entire thing sound anywhere realistic. I tried many times and this was probably the best take. Also I am relatively new to playing latin piano music. I didn't manipulate any notes after recording - instead I added few virtual vintage amps. I choose jazz but it is a bossa nova latin style. Enjoy and feel free to comment and download.

Description : "Oh no - not jazz metal! You're not supposed to mix those genres together." Yes, but someone's got to and the musical gods have chosen me for the difficult task. 9 mins of instrumental jazz metal - damn I sure know how to write a hit song - US No 1 here I come. Anyway - there's some dark, swinging groovy jazz, with Rhodes and guitar as the main instruments, for a few minutes and then some haunting, thumping evil breaks loose. Look out for the powerful synth horn sound. And then it just gets heavier and heavier before returning to some nice chillgroove funky mystery jazz. Instruments played and/or programmed: electric guitar, bass guitar, electric cello, multiple programmed acoustic drumkits, filtered strings, Rhodes, big synth bass, evil synth horn and a few other assorted synths. I assume this has too much jazz for metallers and too much metal for jazzers. So, only for weirdoes like me who enjoy both. This will surely be too odd for most people but I like to think it's pretty interesting and powerful. Let me know how its weirdness worked for you...
