Description : I don't know specifically which genre this is. I just know that The Drifter is on his way. Endlessly speeding across the land. Collecting on his contracts. I made all the synths and subs with Serum, Sylenth1 and Massive. Enjoy. Take care. V.

I love the sound of the synths and the overall atmosphere you give off here. Its dark and groovy, almost like a post apocalyptic dance party. Great job!

Hey man, sorry for the ridiculously late reply. Work and life has had me buried lately. Not much time for anything other than eat, sleep and work.

Anyhow, thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you dig it. The whole "post-apocalyptic" vibe is kind of what Valvedriver is all about. I don't always achieve it, but I sure try.

Thanks again, man. I appreciate it.
    Take care.

great groove...and the parts just move for any live bodies listening (although mine move a tad slower than they used to)...you nailed this one...great lead synth bit going on to compliment the backing...enjoyed the listen...keep on..Ed

    Ed, how ya doin' bud?

I apologize for the super late reply. Work has been busy. Too damned busy, if you ask me. But, hey, at least I can pay the bills, huh?

I can totally relate to the moving slower these days. Between getting older and the physically demanding job, there's not a whole lot that doesn't ache anymore.

Thank you for the kind words. You've always been super supportive of my work, and I don't take that lightly. It's highly appreciated, as always.

I do hope all is well with you.
    Take care, friend.

    What they said : )

No ... well yes, great stuff

I commented the other day about how there is something really primal in trance tracks ... I think this captures that sense really well

I have always said that as well. There isn't always a lot to it, but there doesn't have to be. It's meant for the body to easily move to it without in depth concentration. It kind of just allows the reptilian mind to take over.

I'm glad you liked this. Thank you.

    Take care.

    Thanks, brother!

I've been playing around with different genres. I've always listened to many, but never attempted to produce any other than what I can only call dark-industrial-cinematic-metal. This good feedback is encouraging. Lets me know I'm doing something right.

    Take care, bud.

Now there's a banger of a track. Bass and kick send it straight to the heart of the sun. Cool synths. I've begun trying some sound sculpting, mainly learning through tweaking presets but have a very long way to go. This makes me want to go further down the rabbit hole...

It's a rabbit hole worth going down. There's a lot to learn depending on how deep you want to get. But once you get the basics, it's pretty easy to start figuring things out. Tweaking presets is a good way to learn. There are a lot of YouTube tutorials too. The best way, in my opinion, is to just start with the initial default settings and start playing around.
    Good luck, man.

    Take care.

great synth work V, that beat is arse kicking, its pulsating with a hot bass its got melodic charm, but there's a dark undertone sort of inevitable that something bad lurks, nice riser, great mix bro

    Reply by ValveDriver

Thanks, man. As far as the beat goes. It's super simple and basic. I thought about throwing at least a little variation or some effects or something to switch it up a little, but in the end, I liked it exactly how it is.

"...there's a dark undertone sort of inevitable that something bad lurks..."

Welcome to the inner workings of Valvedriver, my friend. That's how I live, that's how I create. Dark with inevitable doom rising.

Either way, I'm glad you liked it. It was a fairly quick production. It wrote itself, really. I was just here to build the synths that it asked for.

Take it easy, brother, and thanks again.

    Hi my friend!!!
At first I wasn't happy that you went in the direction of electronics years ago, but these compositions calmed me down... huge groovy, amazing speed, a total soundtrack epic...
    hats off bro, Danke

Mr. Danke! How are you sir?

I was actually thinking about the stuff I made years ago. The dark, driving signature Valvedriver sound, and how I've strayed from it. Funny how changes in life can make such a huge impact on creativity.
However, my friend, I have a few on deck that I'm working on a little at a time. Some are darker synth tracks like the old Valve sound. Some are straight up Heavy Metal bangers.
I have a project with one of Baubou's tracks that's in the works too. So, eventually....

I hope all is well with you, brother.
As always, take care, my friend!!

Description : The tangled skein of life permeates all creation, binding the known to the unknown. This track, in its own subtle way, attempts to convey that.

Description : Just like the first EP "OGOU", this production focuses on organic elements with drum samples. It contains modern sounds such electronic down-tempo, future bass, and hip-hop, which makes the music sound old and new at the same time. With heavy sampling of African chants and sound generated from other tribes, this is production will bring more flavor and enjoyment--it's like Africa to your Ears.

Description : After a major uphill battle completing this song and turning it into what it is now, I feel some amount of satisfaction. It was like reality wanted me to give up or something. It's done... phew... Have updated this almost completely, from repatching the modular bass, playing some guitar parts, adding electric piano and synth lead, redoing and tuning the DW-6000 synth, of course adding my vocals, and mixing and mastering. It really has become pretty new wave, like much of my stuff does recently. Have added the lyrics as well. I am proud and happy with it, and I hope you all enjoy listening! UPDATE... woohoo just broke 1000 plays on this track here at looperman!
***original description***
Hey finally here with a new track! I'm not sure what to call this other than electronic, due to the high tempo. This is the first song finished using my interface which allows direct MIDI control of my modular synthesizer. The mid frequency bass part is all from that patch. There are tracks designed with my Zoom RT-123 drum machine, the microkorg, and the circuit bent KORG DW-6000. Other than that it is just a kick and snare drum sample, and a a quick vocal snippet. So I guess it's fairly minimal in that respect. Would like to hear the Looperman community's thoughts on this song! Thank you for listening
