Dude this is awesome, can I sample some bits of this?

Sure, all it costs is a fave, and a link to whatever you make, either here or via my profile.

Also, make sure to check out my lo-fi album, as well as funk, fusion, and other odd stuff on my channel.

    ... enjoy.

Sup my boy? So what exactly is the difference between dub and dubstep? I'm thinking it's the drum works that Define it. Sick female vox. Chemical bros style. I've always loved those accidie sounds. Dope track man. I did ROCK track if you get a moment I know right Rock Me

I always find myself looking forward to what you'll come with next It's because your work is super duper interesting & like nothing iv heard here before. I have an open mind/ears so I like to hear fresh new sounds. It certainly isn't boring. FAB! Work here, I like the reggae-ish/dub sound also. Anyways once again very much enjoyed! This grabbed my attention and held it to the very end. Kudos!

I will be very honest: I think it's good, but at the same time it's also too much for my poor brain. I recognise the quality, but I think others may enjoy it more ;)

    Reply by bringerofDOOM

Yeah, it's too busy. This isn't really a song. All the parts with the exception of the vox are randomized. I've made several similar experiments, varying in degree of randomness, and using various plugins such as Transition, Nova3, Stochas, Manic, and TX16Wx (to make a sampler keyboard).

The beat is not that user friendly (the focus is on the upbeat), so the unorthodox nature can be off-putting, which I understand.

Here's something dead simple by design:

Nice one bod - Jynx is on the money with the sense of movement in this one going up the down escalator - really interesting syncopation (I think you'd call it). : )

    Reply by bringerofDOOM

Yes syncopation would be correct. The reggae-ish beats tends to focus on the up or back beat, often avoiding the "money" hits on the snare, like the 2nd and 4rth beat (at 70 BPM), as well as the assumed kick on the 1st beat.

Wanna make a beat sound cool, occasionally take away the 1st beat of the rhythm (a Gojira trick).

Since you are in to tech, you should check out Stochas and TX16Wx.

Thanks for the listen comment, and fave.

This track has a really surreal feel and sound to it. I get the feeling that it's moving forward but that delay on the Keys make me feel like it's all an illusion and It's really standing still.
Perhaps that's just the residual effects of a recklessly spent youth.

    Great track... Faved...

    PEACE from the East...

Yeah the beats rarely repeat, and the emphasis for most of them is on the upbeats, same for the bass. The randomizing of these reggae-ish beats has created a complex, syncopated feel.

I've been experimenting with Stochas and TX16Wx. This is more "proof of concept" than song.

Thanks for the listen, comment, and fave.

Interesting track. Love those pad sounds. Great job man.

    Reply by bringerofDOOM

Thanks. I programmed several instances of Stochas to control several instances of TX16Wx, using the pieces of a beat creation kit set to randomize. Then I added a few things. Turned out pretty interesting, thanks for listening.

Description : Here is my most recent song, and one which I considered keeping under wraps until my album was released. With the Halloween thread, I thought this may be a chance to raise up the "funny ha ha" or "funny strange" vibe, and tuck under the nervous laughter. It was not made for this holiday or the related thread, but simply to express something which I think about regularly. I'm sure you'll get the impression!

Any masking, distortion or cross modulation is entirely intentional. This is, after all, intentional electronic brain manipulation.

I used all three loops given to me by M8TN -

All three were made by the excellent MrRobot! I ended up using this track as an opportunity to try out the Parallel Killer Guitar that I finished putting together not long ago. These are amongst the first recordings of the guitar. So I guess this turned out like what I would call "hard dub" or maybe it's just dub-glitch... totally not dubstep...heh. I was going for a tape recorded feel on this one for the most part. Hope you enjoy it!

Description : Here is the long overdue "culmination" of a collaboration between Promenade2239 and myself. Not too long ago he uploaded an inspiring finished version based on this song idea, and it is located here... https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/171320

Included here is Promenade on synthesizers and samples, as well as quite a bit of rhythmic, vocal and arrangement manipulation. The vocals and guitars (classical and electric) were recorded by me, and I did some synthesis and the initial drum loops.

We spent a lot of time and effort developing the idea together. This became especially apparent when I gathered all of the stems I wished to incorporate into this version, and they totalled 85! All in all, it was an extremely valuable experience for me, and I learned so many things (even about myself).

Please leave your comments if you have any, and I will try to reply as I get caught up! Thank you for listening!
