Hey Bod - very very nice lofi chill - there is (I thought too) a hint of industrial there but restrained by melodic and textural warmth

    Reply by bringerofDOOM

    It's 20% industrial, 70% lo-fi, 10% "other stuff" (let's say).

Warm but also metallic, with occasional dark undertones is what I was going for.

bringer, ok so this one left me feeling exactly like the design university student from Spain. You know this composition speaks foundation for someone else to layer their creativity on. It’s chill but engaging. Some elements for some reason caused me to think of industrial. Correct me if I’m wrong. Your musical thoughts are interesting.

    Reply by bringerofDOOM

    It is definitely part industrial.

Check out this guy for some novel sounds:

flsouto has pretty much monopolized the "industrial" loop category here.

The "noises" are hi-fi, the melodic harmonic, and traditional rhythmic elements are lo-fi. It's like lo-fi with an industrial candy coating (at least, that's what I was going for).

Thanks for the listen and comment.

    What's up BofD.

Another layer of onion is peeled back.

    I don't why I can't get my head around you doing "Lo-Fi".?.?.?
I keep waiting for at any moment you are going to blast out on a Heavy Metal transition but, not the case. Before I know it (I ordinarily would not even consider listening to a track over 4 minutes long)the track is ending and I've been fully engaged and enjoying every min. Great track. Faved.

I also watched all of your videos, 100% honesty I can't wait till you discover/use human footage for your vids IJS.

    Reply by bringerofDOOM

Yeah, it seems contradictory, but I've listened to a ton of death metal and industrial, and quiet tension can often be far heavier than the explosion.

I did use some "live action" here:

wow man this is different from you but super cool quality chilled sound very nice indeed :P)brilliant ending

    Reply by bringerofDOOM

Yeah lots of folks like the end of this one. These projects are pretty easy for me to make relatively quickly (about two a day if I really hustle), so it made sense to make lots of content in a short time.

Thanks for the listen, comment, and fav.

    Thanks for sharing that video.
It was fun to watch .
How he works in Fl i never see or do before. Always i make 1 pattern and the next pattern i change a little etc etc.I will try that way and watch more videos to learn .
Also to put vocals and music apart like he didd.
I didd try it online but it sounds so ugly.
Anyway thank you so much for your help.

    Have a nice day

To come back on your response.
In that time i just do something without knowing what so i lost everything.
About Fl studio..i think Ableton is much better but then i need to learn everything from the beginning again and it seems so difficult to me so i think for me its better to stay with Fl.

    Reply by bringerofDOOM

The tutorial community is not as big with Ableton. Usually the are very genre specific (from what I've seen). I will watch a tutorial for any DAW, once you know what the FX categories are and how they work, the gear or software/plugins doesn't matter much.

Speaking of which, you should watch this. It's like a funny, sarcastic anthropological analysis of the most modern rap, while also explaining the FL Studio "tricks" used.

I've seen all of it. Enjoy.

Nice creative lofi. Really oldskool intro and with the bells comin in it gives good vibes instantly.

    Reply by bringerofDOOM

The lofi stuff is partly inspired by the NIN "Ghosts" album, which is essential a 4 "disk" album of instrumental versions of Reznor's songs.

Thanks for the listen and comment. Not all my stuff is "good vibes," but having a "vibe" at all is a compliment.

Thanks for the listen and comment.

Yes i didd!!! Lost all my files when i go from FL9 to FL20 .
    So another great track mister.
First i diddnt know what was Lofi but now with your and AtticElla's music i start to know.
This one has great sounds but stays chill.

    Reply by bringerofDOOM

Yeah I'm going for a kind of "underlying tension" that is rather alien to the genre. Someone else used the term "grimey," which also fits. This is 5 of 12 (7 to go). All 5 videos are done, I'm time releasing 2 each saturday, though I may have to pick up the pace.

Thanks for the listen, comment, and fav.

PS, I remember seeing or reading that you can open old versions of FL Studio within FL Studio, unless you replace the "project" folder, then I guess you are screwed. You can also run FLStudio within FLStudio as a 32 bit plugin, if you need 32 bit FL Studio for some reason.

FL Studio is bloated, and simple things require too many steps (like time stretching and pitch correction), But the plugins, particularly Destructor, Soundgoodizer, Maximus, and Fruity Delay 3, are undeniable. By $200 buyers' remorse is almost gone :D

So you've distilled your own flavor of lofi and are now producing them on demand! What makes this one, number six or so? Again, a wonderful listen, chilled, relaxed, nostalgic. Perfect ingredients.

What happened to your file? I have lost files saving on top of the wrong one. Fortunately Ableton Live has a 'recovery' folder. Gotta love that.

    Reply by bringerofDOOM

When I'm making things that rely heavily on 20ish loops (sometimes 60+), I arrange, pitch, stretch, and level them in Reaper, then export the stems to FL Studio for the mix/master.

I forgot to save the FL Studio session. Luckily I had the Reaper session, so I had all the parts, but they were raw and unmixed. I have the original "master," but I will never get the mix identical, so I mine as well not waste the effort.

I'm pretty good about keeping data safe and following processes. I got sloppy and it bit me, lesson learned.

Thanks for the listen, comment, and fav.

Very Cool. It has a ¨lets eat grandma"kind of feel to it. trippy and grimey at the same time. i like

    Reply by bringerofDOOM

Yes you got it. I called the album on youtube "brown and gold," a kind of warmth + metallic sound analogy.

Glad you liked it. I will have a video soon.

Description : The guy who ordered this track didn't pay and doesn't respond to my messages.
So I deleted a private link and decided to upload this track here. The quest was to catch the old-school vibe of detectives of the 50s-60s in the track\loop for 30-40 seconds.
Any way job was done. It is recorded fully live on real instruments, about 3 hours of composing and recording.
