Description : So here's another jazz number I wrote back in the summer of 2020. The inspiration for this is "In spite of whatever.....Just keep it moving". Drums, Rhodes, written, composed, arranged, mixed, and mastered by M.T. Piano (Craig Milverton), guitar, and bass courtesy of Loopcloud. Sax courtesy of Slap Johnson (Noiiz).Enjoy

Robbie, I appreciate your listen and comment. When I was a child sitting on the floor listening to record’s with my dad, he asked me to listen closely to this guitarist. He put on Bumping on the sunset by Wes Montgomery. As a child that first listen jacked me up for life. Then in my first band which was a garage band a new kid in the neighborhood came in with his Gibson Les Paul and asked if anyone knew Bumping. So at every backyard bbq we ever played that song was the crowd pleaser. So that comment for me is a great tribute to an legend.

Yeah man, your a regular modern day "Jazz Messenger."

Keep exposing folks to this. It will burn new neuropathways in their brain (literally), which will unavoidably improve their musical skills and refine their tastes.

I like how everything drops for those little palm muted guitar licks. Great tom work. I poked fun at my drummer for only hitting his toms 3 times in 7 min, but double bass all day :D

    Under 6 min? Rare...

    Keep it moving, faved.

bringer. Thanks. This one needed a mastering expertise I didn’t have at the time I wrote it. Now with the proper mastering tools and the correct application of them, my confidence level is better. Basically I must know why something sounds the way it does. Like dynamics, spatial aspect’s and proximity. Remember I’m self taught on purpose because this is way too much fun. TTYL

Paz y salud.

Another hit M.T. Sounds amazing. So this is an older tune? How long does it usually take you to create a new song?

    kingmt77
    Reply by kingmt77

AtticElla, thank you for listening and commenting. This tune in particular took 4 1/2 days on 18 tracks. It depends on if I’m in my zone when everything comes together quickly. Swamp Paradise took 1 day and 20 tracks. I’m working on a new one now that’s about the longest so far (2 weeks) because I’m writing an midi orchestration that’s kinda intricate and my first one as well. It’s jazz too. Be safe.

    Hi
One time you told me its easy to create this genre.
    I dont believe you.
Just some one with much experiance and jaz feeling can create this.
    Nice work again!!

RitajustRita, I often thought about that conversation. After I pushed post reply it was too late to further explain. Really what I was trying to convey was if you were to sit with me and watch my workflow that you would see that’s it’s easy. But the journey getting to easy was hard tho. Maybe when time permits we’ll have that conversation. Thanks Rita for your listen and feedback always.

The beginning reminded me of the intro from a Beyonce song. I haven't listened to jazz and quite a while. This song made me want to get back into it. I love how masterfully done this track is. Its professional, dynamic, and was an absolute joy to listen to. Well done, you should be proud.

Description : This song highlights a few different styles of jazz. First it starts with a kinda early 20s and 30s groove. Than it melds into a New Orleans style. Than into a sort of Maynard Ferguson big band jazz/rock groove, and finishing off with the 20s and 30s style again, all held together with some cool horns and bass. All n all, it's...Pretty Cool! Hope you like

Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...

Description : This track contains only free loops from Stayonbeat.com and several loops from Looperman artists (listed below). I "made a promise" that my next track will be use a lot of jazzy loops - well, i done with this track, for the great sadness of jazz lovers or experts i think - i fear they will never forgive me. :) While my ISP launches my internet out of the Earth system for a long time, i had to face the fact that i dont have too much downloaded jazz loops on my computer, so i think no wonder that this one is sounds like if i smoke some marihuana while making it. But hey, who cares, i like the result - it reminds me the (maybe only) really funny episode of "Breaking Bad", where Pinkman uses some heroin and flyes up with an idiotic smile on his face - that chapter is priceless. :D
I dont think this one needs a vocal, but ofcourse you can use it if you want, and as always, just write and i will give any support as i can. Any feedback welcomed too as always. Enjoy! UPDATE 2015.10.24.: improved audio quality - lower lows, higher highs. Now in 256kbps!

Description : Music by Antonio Carlos Jobim. This particular piano arrangement is from one of jazz sheet piano books I found on scribd. The electric piano is MrRay22 plugin which I played on Casio CDP220 digital piano. This is also a new piece that I learned today so it was quite tricky to get a proper touch at places and overall make the entire thing sound anywhere realistic. I tried many times and this was probably the best take. Also I am relatively new to playing latin piano music. I didn't manipulate any notes after recording - instead I added few virtual vintage amps. I choose jazz but it is a bossa nova latin style. Enjoy and feel free to comment and download.

Description : "Oh no - not jazz metal! You're not supposed to mix those genres together." Yes, but someone's got to and the musical gods have chosen me for the difficult task. 9 mins of instrumental jazz metal - damn I sure know how to write a hit song - US No 1 here I come. Anyway - there's some dark, swinging groovy jazz, with Rhodes and guitar as the main instruments, for a few minutes and then some haunting, thumping evil breaks loose. Look out for the powerful synth horn sound. And then it just gets heavier and heavier before returning to some nice chillgroove funky mystery jazz. Instruments played and/or programmed: electric guitar, bass guitar, electric cello, multiple programmed acoustic drumkits, filtered strings, Rhodes, big synth bass, evil synth horn and a few other assorted synths. I assume this has too much jazz for metallers and too much metal for jazzers. So, only for weirdoes like me who enjoy both. This will surely be too odd for most people but I like to think it's pretty interesting and powerful. Let me know how its weirdness worked for you...
