Description : For those who know of the Strauss Howe theory of generational turnings, the song will make more sense. It starts out strong with some guitar samples from Robinhood in its execution but we hit a drop and I get a bit cinematic, then I get a bit dissonant as we end out the song on some vox sample.

Hey Cru - played this last night and again now - love the start, it really drew me it and as you listen it evolves into some very spacey and wonderful guitar with wonderful underlying drums / beats .... then devolves into something more ambient and exotic only to bounce back up with fresh rhythm which in turn evolves and then devolves ... very nice work with wonderful sound production too : )

This is incredible. It's pure melodic art man. Inspired by Strauss Howe. This is what I always enjoy. The rarer 'artistical' pieces of music, if you know what I mean? I really enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing.

Never heard of it before the things you pick up on in here its brilliant sometimes. so of course had to have a sneek preview of what it was about although i listend to the music first and enjoyed all its courses. then i researched and 1 bit was all i needed to comprehend what you were displaying.

First came the postwar High, then the Awakening of the '60s and '70s, and now the Unraveling. This audacious and provocative book tells us what to expect just beyond the start of the next century. Are you ready for the Fourth Turning?

although reading the book would be interesting i can see what its saying just from that paragraph we as in you I and everyone else are living through it dont you think in a way interesting subject just as interesting you having a journey with this tune great stuff man always learning :)

Hey Mate. So the fun read is the book they wrote the 4th turning. that was written in 1997 and they predicted quite a few event possibilities happening from 2005 to 2020. It's sort of a here we go again thing. Lives will be lost, things will change. Wars may be fought. Economies may crumble, rich will get richer, poor will get poorer. Those ¨hero¨ Millenials will rail against their boomer grandparents, and us GEN xers will feel the most pain but we will ultimately do the dirty work for both generations and clean up the mess.

So the middle of the fourth turning is the crisis and we are essentially there right now. And you expressed this concept as a musical piece.

Love the arpeggio and the layers of synths. And I see how it evolves in the different stages telling a story. That guitar is insane. The vocals at the end were totally unexpected and super interesting. Great job.

essentially yes, we are in the middle of the 4th turning.
Those arpeggio synths is actually a rythym guitar, but put through a fab filter to create a synth like arpeggio sound. Sort of like sequencing a guitar. thanks for listening.

crucethus, nice. impressive drum mix. I especially like the entrance of the drums at 0:45 and the bit at 1:01. The guitar solo at 1:20 kept the momentum going. Overall you nailed the creative aspect for where I believe you were going. Great job Cru!

I think you have used this theme in a prior composition.
    Nice arpeggiated synth.
I didn't expect the drums to be so "rock." Great fills, great guitar work, super clean. Nice alternate picking. Maybe not so much delay during the arpeggios. I like that is drops down to nothing. Nice thick bass (for those with subs).
Sounds like two keys layered over each other in the second part.
Definitely goes lots of places, interest delay type on the vox at the end with the "flatline."

    Nice work.

I have, It was called ¨Saeculum¨.
These two academics wrote a paper in the eighties about how in North American and Western European culture dating back to the 15th century could be predicted based on a Saeculum, or otherwise known as a ¨long life¨ of 80 to 100 years broken up in 20 or so years for 4 generations or 4 turnings.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StraussHowe_generational_theory
their last book (written together as Strauss Died) was called The fourth turning.
    https://www.amazon.ca/Fourth-Turning-History-Americas-Rendezvous/dp/0767900464
This book written in 1997 eerily predicted many of the crisis we are facing today and the author (Howe) now assertion that 2008 was the beginning of the fourth turning and it will most likely last until 2030. There has been positive and negative feedback about the theory. I just find it interesting and made a song out of what I was thinking today. You are also right there are some familiar themes as I tweak sounds to be different. today was more like an academic exercise for me. thanks for stopping by!

Description : Guys, This track made for a short movie.
I hope you enjoy it if you do then please leave me a comment.

Description : First off, I am a huge fan of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and "The Hobbit." After watching all of the movies (including the final chapter of the Hobbit", I was motivated to write something that I thought might work with their journey home.

Samplitude has a couple of great new VST's, one called "World Flutes" and the other "Celtic Harp" and I used both of them in this song. I created every last note on this one. Guitars were all Fenders, soft synths besides the Samplitude items mentioned previously were created in the SynthMaster series by KVR, and the strings were created with Samplitude's "String Ensemble."

Not sure about the mix (my hearing is shot), so most of the mixing is done by sight instead of listening. If you hear something way out of whack, let me know. If you are interested in taking this one further, let me know and I'll post a link to the stems. Thanks to the Hobbit for the inspiration and to you for listening.

EDIT: I've had some requests for the individual instrument stems so here is the link to all of those files. The tempo is 80bpm. Feel free to do whatever you want with this one.

EDIT: I've had over 200 downloads of the stems, so if you have done anything with them it would be cool to hear it (thanks for the interest).

Description : Ok...here it is! Another colab with maestro Tumbleweed! Ed provided the unfinished, basic track...I composed and recorded the long intro using different synths and then added piano (well to the fore) and some brass arrangements along the rest of the track (no violin this time...hehe) and then did the final mixing to wrap it up as it is presented now. I hope you will enjoy it and we both appreciate your listening time and your valuable comments:) Otherwise all thanks to Ed!

Description : I had no particular intention doing this, but then it just came on me out of nowhere....How to make an antithesis Halloween work!? Prior to that there were no plans to make a track for the occasion, furthermore I've never been really interested in such a thing. It always seemed a bit silly to me if not outright childish. But then I remembered the Interview with The Vampire and Bram Stoker's Dracula. My gosh, there was some peculiar romanticism in there and I probably don't have to tell you twice that this must be a bait for Orlando, as is a cup of fresh young blood for a vampire...:) Furthermore I like people who are different, so I just have to like vampires who a different as well...hehe...so it should be dawning on you by now that this won't be your standard Halloween tune...haven't I mentioned "antithesis"? So...no growling zombies, midnight cemetery bells, creaking doors or any of your favourite horror sounds, although it's still a little bit darker in tone...hell yeah, vampires are still vampires...haha...but this one is mainly about a vampire desperately in love with a young lady, craving for her as a madman...I won't tell whether she's also a vampire or not, cause you might figure it out listening to the track...^^ Otherwise it was about time for me to come up with a new solo work, since I've been almost exclusively doing collabs in those past few months (which I love ofcourse)...afteral you can always ask Ed...:)^^____Happy Halloween folks!:)
